Refuse to send items

Autobarn never sent order but are stating its been delivered. Even when Aus Post says they havent received the goods to ship and tracking shows this. Autobarn have not replied to a single email or answered the phone and refuse to reply. Its effectively theft.
They spend all this money on marketing to maybe attract a new customer but happy to burn the ones they have.

Customer service team doesn't care

Brought a radiator cap that I was told would fit my Ute.. it didn't, it was the wrong pressure rating and blew up my radiator. Missed 3 days of work and out of pocket 1000 dollars from missed work and replacing my radiator..

Got in touch with customer service and got a generic reply about heading into my nearest store for the best help with the product I'm enquiring about.. no sorry no let's remove this item from fits this car just..

Disappointed with Autobarn

I am extremely disappointed with the level of customer service I received from the Autobarn Port Stephens store today.

I placed an online order for next-day pickup at this location, however due to unforeseen circumstances I had to travel approximately 200km away before I could collect it. The following day, I contacted the store to request a simple and reasonable solution — either transferring the item to a store closer to my new location or updating the system to allow collection elsewhere.

Unfortunately, what followed was completely unacceptable.

I spoke with a staff member (Matt) and later his manager, both of whom were dismissive, unhelpful, and outright rude. I was told they could not transfer the item due to a “policy,” but no effort was made to offer any alternative solution or assistance.

What was most shocking was the manager’s attitude. When I provided the postcode of the store closer to me, he responded with: “Where the hell is that?” — which is incredibly unprofessional and disrespectful.

The situation escalated further when I politely asked for the manager’s name. I was told it was “none of my business,” and the call was abruptly terminated.

This experience showed a complete lack of basic customer service, professionalism, and respect. At no point did I feel that my situation was taken seriously or handled with any willingness to help.

I understand that policies exist, but the way this was handled — with hostility and disregard — is completely unacceptable. A business should always strive to assist customers and communicate respectfully, regardless of limitations.

I am extremely dissatisfied and would strongly urge Autobarn to review the conduct and training of staff at this location.

What a great bunch at Autobarn Tarneit

What a great bunch at Autobarn Tarneit! I had a back brake light out and needed it replaced urgently. Matt came to the rescue and thank goodness he did because there was NO WAY I would have been able to do the job so swiftly and professionally! My light was replaced in no time, and I was on my way. Thanks heaps Matt! You're awesome! Thanks to the team as well for being so accomodating. Well done everyone!

zero customer service

A massive shout out for Autobarn's Glenn from the Preston store for the most sexist, ageist, lazy customer service l have experienced 
buying a car battery costing $270.00.

At the checkout l asked if Autobarn gave seniors discount? NO, Qantas rewards? NO, 
Glenn asked if l was a member & my mobile number was checked, NO.

A few days later l was on Autobarn's website & saw the same battery that had a members price discount of $50.00.
Sent an online query to ask if the discount only applied to online orders?
Received a reply from Customer Care's Danilyn to advise the members discount is available instore & online & was also advised, l was not a member as they checked my email address.
So we have all established - l am not a member.

reply received as follows:
Member price is also applicable for in-store purchases as long as the transaction is linked on the customer's registered Accelerate Rewards member profile.

My query also asked, if l can join instore, would l be eligible immediately for the discounted price that shows on Autobarn's system, yes.
Therefore, if yes, why wasn't l offered a membership by Glenn at Preston, all Companies want market share & loyal customers repeat business right?
A second email from Customer Care's Danilyn rubbed salt into the wound even further by advising members get a welcome voucher... 
reply received as follows:
In addition if you wish to sign up as a member on the day you made the purchase, the store can register you before the transaction is done.
 
However please note that the welcome voucher cannot be used on top of other promos.
 
If the item is already on discount (member price or other promotions) the welcome voucher cannot be used on top as it can only be used for regular ticketed prices

Three further emails to Customer Care's Danilyn on the 08th July, 05th August, 18th August 2025 to resolve this appalling performance by Glenn from the Preston store have all been ignored with no resolution, no acknowledgement, no apology or understanding of how frustrating & disappointing this shopping experience was.

DO NOT BUY FROM AUTOBARN, there are plenty of competitors out there for the same items.

Good Battery but poor Service by Autobarn Penrith
I purchased this battery from the Autobarn Penrith. The staff member at the cash counter was not supportive and unwilling to answer simple questions such as whether it would fit my car and if there was a member's discount. The 20% discount was also misleading, as other stores were selling it at the same price without a discount. I felt unwelcome at Autobarn Penrith.
