Our course was taught by someone who wasn't even qualified to teach it, Had we joined the cohort earlier that year we would have been a lot better off, terrible organisation, they 'guaranteed' me an interview and i still haven't got one, the follow up comms i should be recieveing for career support is non existent. Waste of time

I started a level 3 course in Understanding Autism. I have received zero contact from anyone from the course. No responses to emails. When I called up I was told they will look into it but I should continue doing the course regardless. Unhelpful.

Whatever you do no matter how desperate you are to do a course do not go to Get Set UK. I completed a bootcamp in cyber security for 3 months last year. They promise interviews upon completion of the programme but that was not fulfilled. They claim their course will enable you to get an entry level, junior position within the varied positions in cybersecurity. This course would not do that at all, if anything it will give you a taste for all the different roles you can specialise in within the industry. The only thing you receive at the end is a worthless, embarrassing looking certificate of attendance made by the admin staff at the college. It is not worth the paper it is written on and not recognised by the industry whatsoever. The industry has changed, no company will employ anyone without prior experience because the consequences are too high if something goes wrong such as financial lose and company reputation. No employer in their right mind would employ anyone who had just completed a 3 month bootcamp course without any experience. The college promises 6 months employment support after completion of the course but the support was next to nothing. If you can afford it do a Comptia, Google or ISC2 course which are recognised by the industry however, even at entry level experience is still required. Go to a proper face to face recognised college or university if you want to be taken seriously, one preferably that will organise placements that will contribute to your practical experience. AI is changing everything fast so do your research before commencing any course because there are also alot of scammers whose courses are expensive and claim that they will get you a job after completing the courses mentioned above. I do not understand why the Department for Education is funding this micky mouse college called Get Set UK, avoid it at all cost

I completed the digital marketing bootcamp with GetSetUK in 2023, hoping it would kickstart my career in marketing. At the start, I was assured I would get a guaranteed interview after the course. I was also told that if I couldn’t secure a job right away, they would place me in an apprenticeship. This gave me some confidence to invest my time and energy.

Unfortunately, my experience after completing the course was nothing like what was promised. Once I finished, I heard absolutely nothing from the team for about six months. No updates, no support, no guidance. The only time I heard from them was when Nikala, the person I was corresponding with throughout, suddenly emailed me out of the blue asking if I was interested in a marketing apprenticeship. I responded straight away, excited to finally get the opportunity I had been waiting for.

That turned out to be the last meaningful contact I had. After I expressed my interest, I chased up multiple times but Nikala ghosted me completely. It feels like the email was sent just to save face or tick a box rather than to genuinely support my career progression.

Overall, GetSetUK failed to deliver on their promises. Their communication was poor, and once you finish the course, they offer almost zero support in helping you find employment. If you’re considering this bootcamp, be prepared to be left on your own once the course ends.

I strongly advise avoiding GetSetUK unless you want empty promises and little to no help with real career opportunities. I wish I had known this beforehand to save myself the frustration and wasted time.

I would not recommend this course to anyone. In my experience, the company offers very little value beyond collecting government funding. There was a complete lack of meaningful support or guidance in helping students secure employment or placements after completing the course. Unfortunately, it felt more like a box-ticking exercise than a genuine effort to develop skills or support career progression. A disappointing and ultimately unproductive experience. Don’t waste your time!
