Sizing Suggestion

I did love the final printed copies of my graphic novel but found communication regarding bleed size verses canvas size could have been much clearer. Because of a miscommunication, I had to resize 88 pages three different times. A huge amount of wasted time. I suggest examples of what sizes not to do compared to the correct sizing. Believe it or not, the templates are not enough for first time publishers like myself.

For future projects, we’d recommend using a design program such as Canva, Adobe InDesign, or similar software that allows you to set up bleed and trim sizes more easily.

Misprinted spine and arrived weeks…

Misprinted spine and arrived weeks later for a holiday gift. No help from customer service. Have low expectations when you order.

We can see that a slight spine movement was reported and that you advised this was for a PhD dissertation. After investigating your concerns, our team confirmed that the spine alignment appears to fall within standard manufacturing tolerances. That said, we completely understand that when you’re printing something as important as a dissertation or a gift, you’re hoping for everything to look just right.
Regarding the timing, we’re also sorry that there were temporary delays which impacted your plans. All delivery dates provided at checkout are estimates, and while we always aim to meet or beat them, unforeseen production or courier delays can occasionally occur. If you’re ever working toward a specific deadline, we strongly encourage letting us know in advance so we can advise on the safest timeline.

Everything was fantastic except for…

Everything was fantastic except for loading images. I had a double page spread in my comicbook and no matter how many times I tried I couldn’t get the two pages to line up. It would have been such an easy adjustment but once you upload an image you can’t change it. Also I found there wasn’t a great way to see how the color was going to print. The book was mostly black and white though and the good far outweighs the bad. I will for sure use them again.

We were a little surprised to see your comment regarding the delivery date, as the order linked to this review actually shipped a day earlier than estimated and was delivered on Friday, February 6th, instead of the originally stated delivery date of Monday, February 9th.
That said, if there’s something specific about the delivery timing that didn’t work for you, we’d genuinely appreciate a bit more detail so we can better understand what happened from your perspective.

Great quality, great customer service

I run an upcoming magazine and recently we had our first physical copies printed. We used Mixam and received so many compliments on the quality of the print. They did an incredible job. The uploading process is also extremely effective and eliminated the worry for errors. The customer service is also amazing. After seeing other reviews that the shipping actually take 2 weeks, I was worried my shipment wouldn’t be here on time for my release party. Sarah and Audrey worked with the production team to ensure my order not only arrived for the party, but arrived a day earlier than originally quoted. I highly recommend Mixam and will definitely be printing with them again.

Very late delivery but great product

The product (printed book) itself is great but our small, poor company paid top dollar for the book to arrive as quickly as possible. Paid the maximum (about $100 extra dollars) for production time to be shortened and for "Next Day Air" delivery. Book was supposed to arrive in a week. Instead it arrived in 2 weeks. "Next Day Air" was obviously not "next day". Very upset. Would like a partial refund. But the book itself is good, professional quality with good pages & binding & same as in online preview.

To clarify the timeline , the estimated ship date for your order was December 10th. As this is an estimated date, and December is our busiest period of the year, production timelines can occasionally shift slightly. Your order was completed and dispatched via Next Day service on December 12th.
Based on the tracking information provided, the delay occurred while the parcel was in transit with the courier. Unfortunately, once an order has been handed over, we don’t have control over courier operations or unexpected shipping delays. This is one of the reasons we’re only able to provide estimated delivery dates rather than guaranteed ones.
Thank you again for your feedback, and we’re genuinely pleased that the book itself met your expectations.

First delivery botched, customer service fixed it

Unfortunately, the first shipment for my books clearly had no quality assurance, as every page and copy was completely and obviously misaligned.

Thankfully, when I reached out for a reprint, they obliged and sent me correctly-printed copies at no additional cost.
This did mean extra delay with receiving my books; I reccommend ordering with them over a month in advance in case of issues like this.

When that happens, we pride ourselves on putting things right as quickly as possible. We can see that, against the original estimated delivery date of January 29, the reprinted copies arrived just one day later on January 30, which we’re pleased with given the circumstances.

Easy and Excellent

I put together a book for a friend's birthday. The website was easy to use and the finished product looks exactly how it was designed. It was really quick, too! I'm very happy with the service and would recommend it to anyone looking to print their own books.

Great service!

Very prompt delivery and print quality was perfect!

I created my 16-page booklet just using their website design tool and was very happy with the styles, layout and text options available and that it allowed creation of proofs. And I loved the preview option where you could flip through the pages, as it allowed me to better visualize the end result and tweak as needed.

My one suggestion for improvement would be to better highlight the "Save" option on the site. I lost a couple of designed pages as I didn't see that option at first and thought it was auto-saving as some online tools now do.

Mixam was an amazing experience for my…

Mixam was an amazing experience for my first book! The support team was always there to not only answer all my questions but they could physically jump in and fix an issue. Fast efficient service through the whole journey. Could not of finished it so fast without them. We had 1 small issue after I recieved the books but the QC team handled it fast and and fix the issue quickly. I highly recommend them, great service, amazing quality and excellent pricing comparatively.

Major printing delays

I placed a printing order for several books on October 10th for a client, but the order didn’t arrive until January 27th due to repeated printing delays. Each time there was a new delay, it was left to me to contact Mixam for updates. Whenever I did reach out, I was assured the order would ship within the week, which ultimately never happened.

Getting in touch with customer support was consistently frustrating, as the phone lines often disconnected before I could speak to a representative. When I did manage to reach someone, however, the representatives were helpful and did their best to provide information. Eventually, Mixam upgraded our order to expedited shipping, which I feel was the bare minimum given the length of the delay. I also requested a discount and was offered 5%, which I never received and do not feel was adequate considering the inconvenience and frustration caused.

We’re sorry for the longer than expected delays to the estimated dates during our very busy December peak season. While this period can impact turnaround times, we understand the inconvenience caused. Production is now fully caught up, and timelines have returned to normal.
