We've just completed our mortgage with John Charcol and the service we received was excellent. Kathryn has been exceptional: she clearly explained our options and the process, and helped us choose the best product for us. She kept us updated throughout the process and responded quickly to all our questions. A huge thank you to Kathryn and to the whole John Charcol team!

John Charcol were to arrange a mortgage loan and they encouraged me to take out a bridging loan. They charged me fees for both their services and assured us that the loan would go through but they failed us. We spent money on: lawyer, architect, arranging of planning permission and application for usage change for premise, interest on personal loan we had to take out for start-up costs, and Castle Trust bridging loan cost that the broker lined up for us to meet part of the purchase cost, broker fee, surveyor cost for assured property etc. Lost a lot of money but they stopped returning our calls and emails.
I would not trust their services.

I cannot thank John Charcol enough for the incredible work they did helping me secure my refinancing for my house. My situation wasn’t the easiest as I tried to refinance my mortgage I encountered difficulties. John Charcol went above and beyond to get me the most suitable financing for my situation. I found them to be knowledgeable, dedicated, and transparent. I felt secure and taken care off from start to finish! First class!

I don't know what the rest of the team at John Charcol is like, but Tom Hale was superb in getting a much better rate than I was being offered elsewhere and in navigating the process smoothly. Moving house is often very stressful, and my mortgage requirements as a 62 year old were complex, but Tom made it happen.

We have recently remortgaged our personal residential property through John Charcol, who were recommended by a property colleague.
This is a process which has taken well over 18 months from start to finish, throughout which we have worked with one broker – Keri.
Due to our unusual circumstances, several lenders did not wish to provide us with a mortgage, but through persistence & determination, Keri ultimately found us a choice of lenders & recommended one whose terms matched our requirements & we went with.
However, the lender’s recommended conveyancing solicitors who we chose to work with for ‘simplicity’s’ sake turned out to be far from on the ball, resulting in them twice having to call off completion of our remortgage, the day before it was due, because of unresolved issues which they should have foreseen weeks beforehand.
Keri kept applying pressure on the conveyancers and reassuring us that the mortgage offer was not at risk through the unnecessary delays.
On the whole we both feel that we probably would not have been successful in our remortgage had it not been for Keri’s doggedness and absolute determination.
Her continued positivity and support for us has been incredible, and she has always been a pleasure to speak with.
Without her confidence that she could enable us to cross that line, we may well have floundered.

this must be my 5th mortgage deals carried out with john charcol. Not only pains free, but also saved small fortune. I have always worked with the called April Wang. Very professional and polite lady works hard to get the best deal. Will be using their services again, hopefully by then BOE will starts dropping the rate again.

I started my search for a remortgage quite late and was not in the strongest position, but Rebecca was confident from the onset that she could get me a good deal tailored to my circumstances, She took time to explain the details of my product to me and made clear all fees and charges applicable to the product. Alexa made sure that I got all relevant documentation and was on hand to offer additional support.

Susy and Chantelle provided a service I have rarely encountered in the many dealings I have with the service industry. Not only did they manage to navigate all the challenging aspects of my requirements for a mortgage as an expat returning to the Uk, but they stayed connected and active on my account from beginning to end even when they had completed their part of the process.
