My husband and I went for our initial CLC Sales meeting in October 2019. We were offered a 5 week Trial Membership with lots of nice resorts to be able to take our family over the next 2 years. They were also that nice to 'give' us a free 'Prelude' week at no extra cost. All for a 'cheap price' of £4,395 paid off monthly.

Well, what a CON! Of course COVID put paid to all our plans for 2 years due to travel restrictions, in which time CLC had decided to not honour our free 'Prelude' week any more, or give us any money back from our membership. We then booked to go to Malaga, Marina del Sol in March this year. None of the pools, bars or pantry near our apartment were open. The only heated pool open was as big as my thumb. Overall, this was not 'luxury' accommodation and was no where near the level of service or holiday that I was expecting following their sales patter.

I made complaints when we got home, only to be told that CLC had been bought by Wyndham Holidays and so therefore the Prelude holiday was no longer available. Sorry if I am missing something, but I am pretty sure that this is false advertising and therefore illegal.

We have since tried to book another holiday to try and use up the membership, only to be told that there is no accommodation available for us in any of the resorts until 2023!!! So, we have had our membership since 2019 (paid it in full) and have only been on 1 crap holiday to Malaga. I have complained to ABTA and I am following up with a lawyer to see if we can get our membership money back.

AVOID LIKE THE PLAGUE. THE WHOLE THING IS A CON SO THAT THEY CAN TAKE YOUR MONEY AND THEN GIVE YOU POOR QUALITY HOLIDAYS.

We have trial membership,i will say when agent are convincing you to become full member , they are down to earth. When you decline, they give you the must dirty appartment of the reaort. We are right now in ramada residenses by whydam, the appartment is full of cockroaches , theg are aware as you can see spay in the appartment. You have to pay 4.5 euros to have token for laundry.

We paid over £5000 in 2019 to improve our holidays to a better quality but still couldn’t book our holidays . We were booked on a CLC Canaltime boat for a week last Sunday, from Worcester Marina.
On arrival we were shown the boat but we refused to take it.
It was an absolute disgrace, it was unclean, stank of toilet waste, probably because of the cracked toilet, there was food waste under the bed, it was run down, very dirty and certainly not maintained very well.
The person calling himself the manager at the Marina was no help at all. We were basically told to take it or leave it. He was also obstructive when I asked if could speak to somebody else in the company. They also manage ABC and Canal Boat Club boats. It was a really bad experience.
The boat was so bad we refused it and drove all the way back home. No holiday.

Stay away from this company. I bought a trial membership and found it very hard to get in contact with anyone to book a holiday. The Prelude holiday which was sold with the package was not given as they said it was no longer available. I had to pay £200 to book a holiday within the UK as they said it was a premium destination. Extremely poor customer service. I waited for 3 hours on the phone to book a holiday and yet no one answered, left my number and still no one returned my call. I sent an email and the response did not acknowledge their poor customer service, but rather stated that to avoid calling several times as they are very busy. Honestly wished if there was a way to get back my money, I would do so. If I could give a rating below 1, I would.

This company is a rip off, was told you can sell back to them your contract. Every month am paying fees for maintenance and a very large loan debt. Stay clear of the company it's a big scam

Scam holiday company do not use! Signed up for a trial membership sold on being able to get holidays for school holidays with ease at the same time of year all round. Never was it mentioned to us that you can only book these holidays 12 months in advance on a trial membership, full members gets more time to book them so by the time that you try to use your weeks there is no where left to go other than the resorts that no one clearly wants - specifically the ones that we told them from the start we weren't interested in going to. Your membership is for a limited amount of time so if you don't use your alloted weeks within that time you've just been scammed out of around £5,000. Customer service is terrible can never get through first time unless you want to be on hold for over 3 hours - I was position 5 in the queue today rang at 10:22, got through to someone at 13:24 - waste of a phone call as well as I was told all resorts were fully booked until Summer 2023.

Pretty much agreed with all of the below. I am beyond disappointed! I am a teacher, which they new a the time of selling to us, completely convinced us it would not be a problem! Well it 100% is , it’s pretty impossible to get anywhere booked. I’ve been offered a couple of places but much to my surprise would have to pay an extortionate meal charge ( this was not discussed when we purchased), really wasn’t an option once you pay the charge plus get flights, would be much cheaper to get a package somewhere else!!! I’m devastated. We don’t have £4.5k to spare!!!
I am considering taking legal proceedings and wondered if we should do this collectively with other members.

I've been on hold for almost and hour and a half yet no one has picked up my call. Dates are never available for booking. Service is overall extremely slow! COMPLETE waste of money.

Awful. I have covid and cannot travel. So, I am told I lose my weeks. They were being flexible but it seems to have stopped. Better luck next year I am told.
I am walking away from this rubbish. Stuck up a mountain in Tenerife with zero amenities.
None of us know what life throws at us - but this company are truly robbers.

We can never make a booking during school breaks. They knew we have kids when we were getting this trial membership. Asked for Canada but they refused to book instead suggested me to book Mexico for which I haven't planned or thought about to travel with my kids. They have absolutely no logical reason for not booking. I've paid more than £4000. Haven't availed any of the weeks yet. They want me to book through out the year except school breaks. Makes no sense to me. I can't go without kids and if we go during term time I'll be fined per parent.
We can't visit within the Uk as they said Uk resorts are the most popular locations and are booked 2-3 years in advance by the members but I can't as per my membership terms.
In short resorts are exclusively open to be booked for 2-3 years in advance for members paying them handsome amount.
Wish they told me the truth when we were signing up for the trail one instead of showing green gardens, breaks in heaven with family with the ease of dates when booking resorts.
All lies.. they sell memberships on lies.
Money went wasted.

Can never book dates you require
Stayed in Paradise in May in sub standard accommodation. I am paying over £3000 a year to stay in a very run down shabby apartment for one week!

Took out trial membership in 2019, due to pandemic it got extended to 2023. No complaints on that score, but have only been able to take 4 weeks, we have 2 weeks left but nowhere is available in school holidays/half terms (I am a teacher) which they knew when I signed up) and membership is due to expire next year. This appears to be a breach of contract. How do I get legal redress

Sadly I really am not happy at all with the service from CLC world . I have rang numerous times trying to book a holiday to the Monteray in Tenerife spending ages on the phone. Fair enough I did receive back from the staff but they said nothing was available and keep pushing us to the other resorts which are too far away. We gave them loads of dates. Then we asked about spain and a certain place - not available. As a trial membership you should have access to there internet to do out own research. I think they are discriminating trail memberships as we don't have access to do out own research on availability I have to say that I am very disappointed and feel let down by this company. Selling these trail memberships should ensure that we get a good service so that we may transfer to full membership. Based on this experience so far I fell very hesitant now

Very bad experience, indeed. When our father passed away 3yrs ago, I was very grateful to them to have extended our temporary membership.Then with Covid, they themselves extended our membership further. We were happy to encash our weeks with them as it is difficult complete the three weeks in less than one year.But they would not permit this. So, we booked our holidays with them. But changes to the uni dates are making us change the dates again. But temporary members cannot make changes to this booking online. They expect us to call and wait for hours together for somebody to respond. They do have an option for us to leave our number for them to call us back on, but the number they recognise from our phone is always wrong. When we do leave our correct number many a times, they never call back despite us having been first or second in their queue

Yes me adams you can go anywhere just ring up and book just give us a few weeks advance!!! How wrong are they we be spent hours on hold trying to book , nothing is ever available for the dates I have to take holidays . We were told we need to book a year in advance , once again hours on hold no one ever answers!!!
We’ve taken free week and one other , we still have 4 weeks to book but can’t book anything even if we could get through to someone because nothing is available . Accommodation is always miles from anywhere on site restaurants are expensive!!
Can’t wait to see the back of CLC !!!!!

Stay away if you have kids at school. Almost impossible to book any holiday outside school terms. The trial week is gone forever, together with the £50 booking fee, as the company went voluntary into administration. The trial week was essential, as they sold me the membership scheme through that. Look like a big scam. I was not even informed and found it when I tried to book a holiday through my membership. Also, the main company said they could not do anything.
Still paying even, and couldn't make any bookings yet, due to the covid restrictions. Stay away from being members even if it sounds like you will be in heaven. I will try to see if there are any legal solutions to exit from this membership and recover my money, as I did not have any chance to use it, and it won't be easy even in the future!!!

Unfortunately there is no option to rate minus otherwise I would have given -10.
Bought a trial membership and paid over £4000. We only managed to take the complimentary week. I had made enquiries about the interval as I was planning to travel but did not due to COVID.
I was reassured that the trial membership has been extended. Last year I called to make enquiries about
2 weeks in Mauritius and I was told that the resort in Mauritius were not operating at the time of the phone call. I was being given few other options but they were all either on the red or amber list.
In the last 2 weeks after numerous failed attempts to contact CLC / Interval or being pushed from pillar to post or being given wrong numbers plus and no reply from email sent to them ,I eventually got hold of someone who told me that although my membership had been extended my interval weeks was not transferred?? and apparently Intervals are a "completely separate body".

When I had made the enquiries last year at no point I was told that the interval had expired.

My argument was that there was only 1 direct debit for Trial membership which included service from the intervals. it seems that there was no consideration about the fact that the contract was drawn up pre- covid.

This is blatant theft/ fraud.

We got signed up for a trial membership for almost £4 000. We have tried by all means contacting CLC but to no avail. Emails and by phoning there is noone who will come bk to you. This was just flushing all that amount in the toilet. Poor communication and I regret convincing my husband to pay for this We were not even given the log in details and we have never used the points we were given.

Trial members using our last two weeks thank god. All the accommodation we were shown on ALL our trial holidays (when trying to upgrade us) were beautiful. Every time we have stayed somewhere the accommodation has been standard. We took this membership out as we have stayed in some vile places abroad so liked the idea of top notch accommodation however this is NOT what you get. Currently in ramada and feel like we are staying in a 1960s apartment. Very run down, very dated and no HOT water when showering. We also had very old blood stains on our sheets on the first day, I called down to reception and they were changed straight away BUT not what you expect with this "fantastic accommodation".This is our final 2 weeks and I can't wait to be free to book in decent hotels. Every hotel is a treck to the beach and you can never get the dates you want. The main priority for us was good accommodation but we haven't ever been wowed and could easily find much better accommodation near the beach of our own back. False advertising. We will enjoy our holiday away from the complex and be so happy to be free after. Do not be fooled in thinking you will get the nice accommodation it's a scam to get you to sign up! Good bye CLC :)
