I find that oven bulbs and UV pond bulbs made by Philips to be the poorest quality bulbs on the market. They generally don't work from the start or last only a few hours before they pop.
It is impossible to get in touch with Philips customer service via their website.
Philips Ledinaire 10W spotlight with microwave sensor is absolutely useless anywhere subject to rain or windy conditions. Mine has only been installed for 3 days and is already a pain in the neck. Comes on with rain (light or heavy), snow, sleet and the slightest rustle of a bush. I've adjusted it 3 times and it is now set on low sensitivity, night and 30 seconds but still comes on all the time. Avoid wasting hard earned cash. My neighbour is not impressed but he has been very understanding. It will be removed asap! Don't bother unles you live in a large open space and enjoy still, dry, sunny weather - 365 days a year....but then you wouldn't need one!
Just an update...it is 20.48 on the 18th March. I've just turned it off at the switch as it is on permanently...because it is raining. Dreadful piece of technology completely unfit for purpose...well, at my house.
I purchased a Philips daylight LED bulb from Amazon in August 2018. The bulb failed within 6 months which is unusual for an LED bulb and the Philips brand in my opinion.
Amazon would only redirect me to the manufacturer so I logged a complaint through the Philips lighting website.
Customer services came back quickly to say there isn't a warranty on LED bulbs and failures could be due to various factors. However they asked for some details on the light fitting and use pattern, which I provided, and they kindly sent me a replacement bulb.
Philips has long been my choice for devices with longevity (I still have a Philips whisk that my parents used in the 1970s, an alarm clock from 1987 and an LED tv from 2001) and is one of my preferred brands for consumer electronics. This encounter with customer services reinforces that the company doesn't just take manufacturing quality seriously, but also aftercare.
