I am writing to share my wonderful experience with Pedro. He was incredibly warm, friendly, and knowledgeable throughout our time together. He took us to some of the most beautiful places we have ever been, and his insightful commentary truly made each location come to life.

Pedro went above and beyond by capturing perfect photos of us in stunning locations. His courtesy toward everyone we encountered also made navigating crowds seamless. Additionally, the restaurant he recommended was a highlight; while it looked unassuming from the outside, the service was wonderful and the food was fabulous. By the end of the trip, I felt as though I was leaving a longtime friend, and I was genuinely sad to say goodbye. He even gave me a thoughtful gift that I will cherish.

We recently had a full-day private Tuk Tuk tour of Sintra with Daniel of Yes, You Deserve and it was Fantastic! Planning our tour was a bit complicated since we were staying in Cascais and also had a ½ day walking tour of Sintra scheduled for the day before our tour with Daniel. He spent time with us to build a full-day itinerary that avoided duplication with our previous tour as well as adding points of interest outside of Sintra that were great. Our itinerary worked out perfectly. You couldn’t ask for a better guide than Daniel! He was very friendly, knowledgeable of the city’s architecture, culture and history and adjusted on the fly to be sure we used our time well and had the best experience possible. Our tour included lunch with Daniel at a truly authentic Portuguese family restaurant which was very fun and the food was delicious. We felt we made a new friend and, at the same time, had a great tour. We have had many private tours during our vacations over the years and this was one of the absolute best!!

It was a last-minute decision to book a private tour to Sintra, and we found Yes, You Deserve through an online platform. After some research, we decided to book in advance. Their quotes were on the higher end, and we weren’t sure what to expect, but we’re so glad we did!

Everything was perfectly organized, and Claudia, our tour guide, was amazing—she connected effortlessly with our 10-year-old daughter. We learned a lot about history, but we particularly enjoyed trying the variety of local foods. We wish we had more time in Cascais, as 8 hours wasn’t enough to see all of Sintra.

We’ve been on guided tours all over the world, but nothing has ever compared to this. From the moment we met Daniel, it felt like the universe perfectly aligned. It was instant comfort—like reconnecting with a close family member or spending the day with a best friend you didn’t know you had.

Months before our trip, Daniel scheduled a custom video consultation to design the perfect all-inclusive Sintra experience for us. He walked us through each detail with such care and thoughtfulness. His process was so streamlined, so personal, and so organized that we felt taken care of from the very first conversation. To be honest, we were heartbroken that we didn’t book multiple days with Daniel. Our other tour in Lisbon that we booked with a random company was rushed didn’t even come close and wasn’t conducted by a true local. And while we don’t want to leave negative reviews, the difference was night and day. You really do get what you pay for. With Daniel, you’re paying for expertise, passion, personality, authenticity, and a once-in-a-lifetime experience that stays with you long after the trip is over.

I recently had the pleasure of connecting with Yes You Deserve during my trip to Portugal from my hometown in Boston, Massachusetts and I simply cannot recommend them highly enough! From start to finish, the entire experience was flawless, professional, and genuinely wonderful.

This company excels because they provide more than just transportation. They provide expert-level guiding. Every guide we had was exceptionally knowledgeable, not only on the main historical facts but also on the culture, local life, and hidden stories that bring Portugal to life. They answered every question with depth and enthusiasm, transforming simple sightseeing into an enriching educational experience. We booked 2 separate full private immersion all day tours with them. The first tour was of Lisbon with Diego on a TukTuk who was a lot of fun to hang out with. Our second tour was that of Quinta da Regaleira and Monserrate Palace with Pedro who was equally fun. If I had to do it all over again, I would skip Monserrate. Not because the building wasn't beautiful and architecturally grand, but because the vast interiors feel are pretty much empty. This is due to its tumultuous history of private ownership and neglect, which led to the Portuguese government auctioning off or dispersing the remaining furniture and belongings to fund the palace's intensive conservation and restoration efforts, leaving it largely unfurnished today. However the grounds and garden are beautiful. The true must-see marvel of Monserrate is its expansive, diverse garden. It showcases a breathtaking collection of global biodiversity featuring an incredible array of trees and flora successfully cultivated from drastically different climate zones.

A perfect example of the tour company’s dedication was our guide, Pedro, who took us to an exceptional wine tasting in Colares where his detailed knowledge of the white and red varieties allowed me to select and order several bottles of wine to be shipped home for my friends and family's Christmas gifts.

If you are planning a trip, let my advice save you disappointment. Please make sure you are booking with a legitimate tour company like this one, and not just a driver who claims to be a guide. My firsthand advice on this comes from a painful comparison. On our second day of our trip we booked what we thought was a full tour of Fátima, Nazaré, and Óbidos, only to discover our “guide” was just a driver. While he was a pleasant man, we paid $315 for mere transportation, received absolutely no historical or cultural information about the sites, and had to arrange our own lunch. I booked this other “tour” because I didn’t see anything on Yes You Deserve’s website that offered a tour to those places. That costly disappointment is exactly why the expertise of Yes You Deserve guides felt so extensive and comprehensive. There is a world of difference between being driven to a location and having a true, certified guide provide context, history, and insight.

The guides provided by Yes You Deserve elevated our trip dramatically. They are the real deal, offering the deep knowledge you deserve. Our high regard for the team was further confirmed when we had the pleasure of meeting Daniel Ponce the owner of the tour company while he was expertly leading his own group at a shared lunch spot.

Booking the all-inclusive tour with Daniel Ponce (Yes you deserve) was the best decision we made for our Sintra and Cascais tour. From the initial communication about options and inclusions, the planning was seamlessly clear and professional.

We spent a full day touring with Yes, You Deserve and it was one of the absolute highlights of our trip to Portugal. Though strong winds kept us from Cabo da Roca, Leandro took us to several other stunning coastal spots, plus Azenhas do Mar and Cascais, ending the day beautifully.

My husband and I had a flawless experience from start to finish, from Daniel sending detailed videos/ questionnaires and information to tailor the experience.
We are so beyond grateful we hired a private tuk tuk and we were blown away with our driver Leo, he was so incredible, so knowledgeable of all the history, personal, fun and so kind! We would not have had the same experience doing it on our own. Sintra is very spread out and we wouldn’t have know where to start and never would have learned all the history that was shared. We had an absolutely amazing full day tour with Vera and ‘Yes You Deserve Tours’. Vera was the perfect tour guide for us, with a wealth of knowledge of the history and stories of her country, told with a wonderful mix of detail and humor. She was effortlessly gracious, polite, and responsive to questions. It was also clear to see that her peers respected her wherever we went, with very positive interactions with all. Vera made sure to make the absolute most of our time, providing extra stops and views wherever possible, while at the same time not making it feel rushed. Our lunch at a small family run local restaurant was wonderful, and then a private tour and tasting at a local winery was very interesting, learning about how they grow in the local terroir, and how it affects the wine making process. Victor our guide made the experience fantastic with his detail of the history of the sites and Sintra. Even though we encountered some rain at parts of the day the experience was incredible and the full day guide with a fantastic lunch at a local restaurant was memorable. To say we had the most amazing Sintra tour with Daniel and Gustavo is an extreme understatement. We did the all inclusive full day tour with one palace and the wine tour. From the moment we met them we felt as if we were their family. Both of them were extremely knowledgeable, funny and kind. Even though we did not go to every palace, they told us the history of each one along with the history of the area. The traditional Portuguese lunch and conversation was also exceptional. Book this tour!!! It will be the highlight of your trip!!
