I've been waiting since July 2 comment on this. And give it a chance 2 fail with different temperatures. There is a cold spell now and the unit is still firm on the windscreen . I find it very good

This original product is supposed to stay in place. The dashcam lives mostely in the glove box and the poxy thing just keeps falling off - no matter how clean and how carefully we attach. Waste of money and potentially could be dangerous if your attention is diverted from the road ahead when it ejects the camera into my wifes lap...

As I replied in my first review; I was really happy with the suction cup attachments. I also reported that I was pleasantly surprised that they were still available and would fit an older Nextbase product. Full marks to the company for not altering a proven and great design.

After 3 or 4 years the suction cup becomes weak, splits, loses suction and falls off the windscreen. Nextbase do not sell just the suction cup but do sell this attachment complete with suction cup. Replacement is simply a case of sliding the old attachment plate off the camera mounting and sliding the new one on. Surprisingly, the price charged for this spare part is very reasonable making any DIY solutions to extend the life of the suction cup itself a complete waste of time!

Original suction cup failed after six years, but the dash cam is working correctly. So it is good to be able to get this identical replacement part, which arrived on time and was quickly fitted.

We bought the 422GW five years ago and it was stuck on the windscreen with one of these suckers. Then, a couple of months ago, it kept dropping off the windscreen, and no methods I tried (excluding glue, obviously!) would get it to stay in place. I bought this and it worked perfectly. Now, is 5 years' use of this suction cup good or poor? I would have thought, bearing in mind that it's never touched, it should have lasted longer. But maybe I'm being unfair.

Sticks well at first but eventually loses grip, particularly in bright sunlight when interior temperature of car goes way up.
