After a redelivery to the shop I was inpressed by the collection time but not the fact that after ordering the email to collection notice took a week longer than nessarary .

A very unsatisfactory experience today. We bought a child’s anorak today from the Bromley branch. When we got home we discovered that the shop had neglected to remove the security tag. When we rang the store and explained the situation to the manager, Chris, I regret to say that he was thoroughly unhelpful. To be fair, he did apologise but insisted that our only option was to ‘pop it back to the shop’ to have the tag removed. This would involve a round trip of at least two hours or more, plus additional parking fees. He rejected out of hand my request for a replacement jacket to be sent in exchange (“we don’t do that”)! and could offer no other solution, other than to ring Blacks Head Office in Manchester. This I did, wasting a further 20 minutes with the automated telephone menu. Eventually I was put through to a customer service agent who was more sympathetic and tried to be helpful but again could offer us no resolution other than to return the garment to a store (or post it back for a refund). He was unable to deal with the matter as an online order because it was an in-store purchase.
We are left with the prospect of another round trip - thoroughly inconvenient. What a shame: Blacks used to be ‘go-to’ store for outdoor products and for customer service. Not any more.

Wanted a pair of Hi-Tech walking boots as I've been using the brand for decades. Found them easily and at half price. Sales assistant was prompt in coming to my aid, processing the transaction and making me aware of my post sales rights.Boots have now been tested out and are comfortable and perfect for my needs.

Visited Blacks a few weeks ago to buy some warm weather gear for the Newcastle United FC v Bromley FC, FA Cup! Third Round! I preferred to buy in person as opposed to on-line as I needed advice. The gentleman who served me was very knowledgeable and extremely helpful. I bought a base layer (which I can also wear as a running top) and some thermal socks. I was toasty warm in Newcastle even if we did lose! Huge thanks to your staff for their excellent advice. I will be returning! 😃

Easy to order online but staff in the stores are very helpful too. Good to know I could return to store if I needed to. Fortunately the walking shoes were a good fit so I am keeping them.

Con: Only criticism, no acknowledgement from staff when I entered the store, had to approach a member of staff for assistance, instead of vice versa. It's customer service, I'm sure that involves assisting potential customers.
Pro: Once I approached a member of staff, his service and assistance was excellent, informative and friendly.

It is the second time that I had a bad experience at the store in Bromley. The staff behaved as if we were intruders, interrupting their chats. Some items had no labels, there were 2 of 3 people acting completely demotivated, they had to be asked several times for information. Then they got busy with unpacking products and there was zero friendly interacting nor pro-activity. After the 15min wait (no apologies at all) because of their delivery, the access to the backpacks we were interested in were blocked by piles of crates. Next time Decathlon again, they are always kind.
