Having once again left Cotswold outdoors without making a purchase, this time vowing to never return due to terrible customer service, we were very happy to receive an altogether warmer and more professional service from Lauren & the rest of the staff at Blacks. Lauren showed real product knowledge, we were buying hiking shoes, and kindness. We got exactly what we needed and had an altogether more pleasant and customer friendly experience than we had experienced elsewhere. 10/10 Lauren @ Blacks Harrogate

Fantastic shopping evening at Harrogate opening event. Well crafted food and drink, great music, we bought new gear which we love but the highlight has to be the fabulous staff who made the evening so much fun. We look forward to returning

The Manger and his staff were most helpful.
They were very patient and informative. It was a most enjoyable experience buying a Paramo Smock and some funny leggings for her ladyship.

I bought an Osprey Athos AG 65 a great pack with excellent features. Unfortunately I ordered the wrong size. I returned the pack to my local branch (Harrogate) and without fuss they raised a refund and my account has been credited back. The staff were all super friendly and helpful I would certainly recommend them. I have since purchased the same pack but the right size. Thanks

I visited, looking for size 13 (UK) walking shoes. They needed to be ergonomically well-designed, to alleviate an extensor tendons injury that causes ongoing problems.
Not straightforward.
The manager, Ian I believe, was incredibly helpful, knowledgeable and patient. He offered very good advice, and I came away with shoes and a plan.
A proper outdoor shop. Well-stocked and well-staffed.

There was a good range of hiking boots to choose from and Tom, the assistant, gave knowledgeable advice, checking I had the correct fit.
All members of staff went out of their way to be helpful. A good experience all round!

Staff very helpful and knowledgeable . However trying a few coats and jackets on and having to walk up to the women’s department every time for the mirror is ridiculous. Put a mirror in the men’s area.

I visited after the most recent refurbishment but didn’t stay. The shop is utterly freezing, there doesn’t seem to be heat anywhere and a big open door to the elements? The staff were lovley but the last thing I want to be when I shop is uncomfortable. This store keeps getting face lifts and name changes but they never seem to fix the heating or really change the sort of products or price points. Looking at the other reviews here, people where complaining about the heating as far back as three years ago, if this has been an ongoing problem this whole time I’m absolutely appalled. Not only will I not put myself through shopping in such an uncomfortable store. I will not support a company that would leave its employees in such poor conditions. I think it’s absolutely shocking behaviour and the company should be ashamed.

I believe ethical shopping is vital, I will spend my money and time with company that offers good value for money, reasonable products, a warm and comfortable store to shop in and who treat their staff well.

Order cancelled just as I left store- had to do a 29 mile return visit to get my money back as they don’t automatically refund card. Crap service and no recompense. If they don’t have it in store don’t order it - their stock systems are sh1t , will accept the order and then cancel it. Customer support is utterly rubbish

EDIT - have previously had a response from Customer Support so am not responding again as they were hopeless the last time.
