The good and the bad
Always very caring. Time taken to examine my dog identified heart condition which is now controlled with meds from cardiac specialist.
He also has undiagnosed arthritis for which meds are prescribed by Parks. Sadly they have now decided to charge £15 for each monthly insurance claim, for each condition. Muliple claims are not allowed My dog is now over 10 years old. I factored in that the cost of insurance would rise as he got older, that I pay an excess each year and now pay 20% of the cost of each claim. What i didn't factor in was a minimum of £180 a year for the vets to process the insurance claim. There is absolutely no way of avoiding this if I want to claim. They have me over a barrel. This to me seems ethically and morally wrong. To say it is standard practice now does not mean it is compulsory practice. The cost of medication from the practice is more than double the cost online, so a massive mark up and profiteering. However, even if i buy online, i need a prescription and for the vet to process the insurance claim. I repeat that they have all of us over a barrel. I am very disappointed. Luckily the cardiac specialist doesn't make this charge as well
