Disappointed

For years long before Inter Flora took over Flying Flowers (FF) I was buying Carnations from Jersey (the days when you had a reference number, one day the telephonist told me I'd given her the incorrect number, it should have been 5 digits she said, no I replied mine is only 4 it signifies just how long I had been dealing with them). Since FF have been taken over I think the business has gone down hill. You cannot buy (Simply Carnations) any more, they have just a handful of bunches of a variety of flowers.....The personal touch has also gone such a shame when the original FF was so efficient, another example of computers destruction.

DON'T BUY BT LANDLINE PHONES
I have a BT8500 Advanced Call Blocker. I have had to put in new batteries and in doing so it has wiped off all my contact numbers. I needed advice! I contacted the number in the manual and was told the number is only valid for the time of the warranty. I was then given a 0906 802 0198 number and was told it would cost 65p per minute, considerably more from a mobile.

The CEO Peter Griffiths should GO!

I was recently concerned when I didn't receive a statement. I tried 'phoning but like everyone else no one answers (even hanging on for up to 30 minutes. I wrote last week to the CEO Mr Peter Griffiths, I thought that may prompt someone to contact me but this fellow lacks professional acumen when dealing with customers. Anyone who values their job/position would have the common decency to do that. I have now received my monthly statement and note that they have changed their address. I have also noticed that the total of my bill for the month has been totalled incorrectly (even though it's been done presumably on a computer) although the correct amount is shown on page on 1.
In the past I have always found this company be quite efficient, clearly something has gone badly wrong and Griffiths is doing nothing to correct the situation.

Follow up to 29th May 2018

Following my review dated 29th May Furniture Village (FV) 'Hannah' responded the following day asking me to contact Customer Services (CV). I did and a person called 'Jade' notified me with the CEO's name Mr Peter Harrison and the address Unit 3 Marsdon Gate. Badgers Rise, Ridgmont, Bedford MK43 0LY. Tel No. 01525 289599. I wrote to Mr Harrison with supporting documentation and after not receiving the courtesy of a reply I rang. I spoke with a person called 'Viv'. I explained the situation and was led to believe that Mr Harrison didn't operate from that address and he didn't get involved with complaints and that I should contact the Manager of the store that I rang. I drew her attention that my letter was probably on someone's desk and could I speak with that person. She ignored my request and again reiterated that I should speak with the Manager of the store. It became patently clear she wasn't going to co-operate with me. Afterwards, I rang Citizens Advice and after taking notes they are going to refer the matter to Trading Standards. I then rang the Store Manager in Ipswich and after explaining that I'd been in touch with Bedford managed to speak with him. He said that he would be away until Weds 12th June when he would look into the matter.
I get the impression they are giving me the 'run around' in the hope that I will get fed up and give up.

Bad practice?

I was interested in buying a Hypnos Double Divan. I rang the 08008048879 with the intention of ordering it over the 'phone. There was an advert which showed the bed with 4 draws reduced to £699. After a lengthy discussion I was informed that a 2 drawer would cost another £200 or the 4 drawer would cost £300.
I rang Furniture Village (FV) again today as I felt that the advert fell short of the Advertising Standards as the bed shown was not the one for sale. After a considerable length of time my call was answered and I asked for the Manager of Customer Services. I understood that I was being put through. After some 20 mins a female answered, I asked if she was the Manager and she replied No. I asked for the name of the CEO and the Head Office address she couldn't provide either only two e mail address.

John. I had guttering, soffits, fascia's and down pipes replaced last year. A few months ago I noticed a slight problem and that coincided with one of their reps knocking on my door to ask if I was looking to have more work done. I drew the problem to their attention and they and they would report it. I'm told they never did. In the meantime I received a call from Zenith, I asked if they were ringing about my problem and they said No!. Very recently I had another 'phone call when the lady told me she had a cheque for £700 for me and would I be in at 4.30, she also said that some one would call in advance for security reasons. No one called or came! Today (I7th Oct 2017) I rang Zenith to ask what was happening. They said they had no record of any recent calls. The receptionist also told me Zenith had gone into liquidation and they had taken over the name only. Strange! as the number I rang was the number from the paperwork from last year. I was told that the contract I had with them was now null and void and that they would be prepared to come out and look at the work for a fee and 'possible further cost'.
