I bought an Apple Pencil from John Lewis. It came with a 2 year guarantee.
The Pencil failed to work after less 5 months - it stopped charging. I checked in with John Lewis and was horrified to learn that the Guarantee was worth nowhere near what it said it was. They would not replace the item as stated but asked for it to be returned for repair. Interesting as Apple clearly state that a new Pencil that doesn't charge cannot be repaired but has to be replaced - maybe the clever animals on the John Lewis TV adverts can do more than Apple technicians.
Now the serious bit - they insisted that the item was sent back either by delivery to a shop or by their courier. The courier would not come for over a week and when they do, they cannot guarantee proof that they have collected the item. We can see where this goes - "Can you fix my Pencil?" "What Pencil?" " The one your courier took" "Which courier?" "The one you sent out" "Prove it!" and then the pencil no longer exists, I have no guarantee cover and I have just given John Lewis money for nothing!
The whole thing is scandalous and shows a complete disregard for customers and customer service.
I used John Lewis - Never Knowingly Undersold - because I believed it to be a reputable company. It clearly has let all standards slip and is a charlatan trading company that takes money and offers shoddy goods and no after sales care or service.
Avoid them like the plague and spend your money elsewhere where it will be appreciated.

NEVER EVER BUY A DYSON!
I bought a Dyson vacuum cleaner and got a 2 year full guarantee. Sadly, after only a few weeks a part broke - quite literally the wheel came off!
I contacted Dyson support and was told that there is nothing they can do - there are no parts in stock, there is no estimate of when the parts will be in stock, I can't get a refund for my purchase and I am not allowed to speak with a manager to complain about things.
I don't know but guess that Dyson sell thousands of machines each week - millions per year. If there are no spares to support them then the guarantees are worthless - and effectively fraudulent!
This was the latest generation model and not an old, less likely to be supported, model
Learn from my pain and never ever buy Dyson.

Review over RIAS
It's only 1 star because I cant give less!
We had the policy, we had a huge accident in the house, we made a claim and that's where the trouble started! RIAS were slow to react, caused additional damage through their MONTHS of delay. We made a complaint which their independently appointed solicitors upheld. Well over a year following the initial claim we finally settled. A week later RIAS wrote to us cancelling the policy. Then they had the nerve to charge a Policy Cancellation fee. None of this is emotion, it's pure fact - they are useless in every respect. They care for nothing except taking money from customers. They don't want to pay out on claims. They do everything possible to claw back tiny sums wherever they can. DO NOT BUY A POLICY FROM RIAS, you will be disappointed and have to fight for what is rightfully yours. Find an honest insurer instead.

The company overall seemed inytransih=gent and bullish. However, once I had contacted them, an excellent lady called Paula called me to help resolve the issues.
Paula immediately understood the peculiar circumstances regarding our account and sought to effect a pragmatic and workable resolution. Her service cannot be overrated in a world where so often customer service is a phrase that is published but never effected. !0/10 Paula, thank you!

Yodel said they delivered the parcel and left it in a safe place with a card telling me where to look. No parcel and no card! Absolutely disgusting service from the worst courier company! Now I have to go to the shipper to try to find what is mine but has been lost or stolen by the incompetent clowns at Yodel. NEVER EVER USE YODEL - THEY ARE USELESS!

I ordered my item from OnBuy and all progressed well. I got an estimated delivery date of 5 days ahead which was great. On the day of delivery I got an email saying that OnBuy had cancelled the order of the following reason - THERE WAS NO REASON GIVEN!
Absolutely appalling service and no customer respect - will never use again! Its a rip-off!
