Quick, accurate and reasonably priced.

He mentioned that regardless of my review, he wanted to make things right. As a business owner, I fully understand that mistakes happen. I wanted to take a moment and acknowledge my appreciation for businesses like these with integrity.

I had used 1040 Abroad in 2024 as a US citizen living abroad full time. Things went well so I decided to use them again for 2025. Biggest mistake I ever made. Note that I have NEVER been late in filing my taxes.

This all happened despite an onboarding call PRIOR to doing my taxes. I had explained before hand that my taxes are complicated for 2025 due to living in two countries, sale of properties and running two separate businesses.

Let me save you the pain.

1. I submitted my taxes at least a month in advance like I normally do. 1040 gave me literally 2 days before the deadline to confirm and file my taxes even though I had asked for it the week before.

2. There were zero questions asked despite the sale and purchase of multiple properties and including the sale of my primary home which would allow for a 250k deduction. This was not included in my taxes.

3. The taxes I owed were astronomical due to #2 above.

4. They asked me, the client a basic non-negotiable tax filing question on which tax option I wanted to file (with K1 or without K1?) - When I asked for a second opinion, my usually polite and calm US based business accountant wrote back to me: "That’s the dumbest damn question ever. You HAVE TO FILE with the K1."

5. My taxes were filed late due to this back and forth with zero guidance on what to do.

6. I now owe thousands in late fees.

I can't even begin to tell you how incompetent these people are. And they only have ONE job to do: Taxes for citizens living abroad. You truly can't make this stuff up.

I would give it 10 Stars if I could! ✶✶✶✶✶✶✶✶✶✶ 1040 Tax Service is more efficient than tax services that cost twice as much. It is very professional and secure with a Private Portal. I've used it for several years now and always been pleased. I wish I could have found it years ago. Thank you.

I've been going to Olivier for my US expat tax questions for the past year. For comparison, I reached out to about 4 other tax firms as well, including one that specialized in taxes for Americans in my new country. There was absolutely no comparison. As an American Abroad I use 1040 Abroad to help me file my US taxes.

I've done so for at least the past 7 years with them.
The process is easy, you fill out their spreadsheet with your information and they prepare the tax forms for your review. When you agree, they file them electronically and you get proof of filing.

They have a specific understanding of US tax issues for US citizens living abroad, which is a relief. They know what you need and will respond.
