Wasted half a day waiting for someone to arrive with a very expensive battery. I had a 2-hour window. After waiting most of that time for an update I called. They said I would get an update in 10 minutes. Half an hour went by and nothing. Finally got a hold of someone in a chat and they said it would be tomorrow. Meanwhile I had placed the initial order at 12 noon. I could have found an alternative in the 4 hours waiting. Now I have to wait 48 hours for a refund! Don't promise what you can't deliver!

I purchased a battery from 800battery.com 2 years ago with a 3 year gold contract coverage. My car would not start yesterday so I called customer service and inquired how to proceed. The Representative was able to pull up my account information via the cell number from which I was calling. He confirmed all the information and asked when it would be convenient for the local city technician could come and install a replacement battery. Very efficient customer service was provided by the 800Battery representative. Then the local contractor company that does 800Battery’s work was outstanding and I realize the local technician provides an even greater, excellent face of the battery replacement company. I live in Miami and the young man who provided the installation of my battery on both occasions is Excellent! He was on time within the window of time we scheduled, he had all the necessary knowledge to access my battery which is located in the rear of the car between the trunk and back seat. He was efficient, friendly and polite, and even offered to reinstall my rain gear, canvas car cover, etc., that is stored in the trunk. If you live in Miami and contact 800Battery.com (which I recommend), please ask that the contractor technician named Damian comes to install your new battery. Thanks very much to both entities!

Purchased a truck battery for $347 less than a year ago, not only do they want $50 for a replacement but $175 upfront in case the issue is not the battery.
I wish I can give a negative 5 on the rating for this company.
Buyer beware, stay away!

I booked and paid for a car battery and installation for a two hour window the following day. At ten minutes to the end of the window, I had not received any updates so I went to the website customer service chat. They informed me that they were "searching for a tech for my order." I asked for a refund which was promptly issued. I was relieved at that but annoyed that I had wasted so much time. They should have notified me much earlier that no tech was available and I would not have wasted my afternoon. Just relieved that I did get my money back.

Sold me a defective battery and then failed to show up for scheduled appointment to replace. No call. No email. Took no responsibility. Just said they were having hard time finding a tech. Last time for me…

My battery went dead so I made a call about 24 hours ago to get it replaced, I understood that there has been bad weather this week so I set it a day ahead from 8 to 10am, using the site format which said I was setting an appointment, and rearranged my work schedule to accommodate it.

They were lightning fast when it came to taking my money, but I heard nothing after the confirmation email all the way up to the time window. Finally at 9:40 I reached the chat after it closed out four times and the person says "Okay we're finding a tech now", as if I just placed the order.

I canceled it from there, absolute waste of time. I should have read the reviews before and also used common sense of never going with a Google ad on the search results when looking for a service.

This is not a reliable company, I don't necessarily think they're a scam (assuming I get the refund), but they don't appear to have the necessary organization and manpower to keep up. It's better to just go with AAA or a local provider.

If I could give less than 1-star I would. Ordered a battery for delivery/installation. Was given a window of 1000-1200. At 1030 status changed to assigned a driver. Has stayed stuck at that status for several hours. Each time I contacted customer service they stalled "we're reaching out to the tech" "He'll be there soon" - hours pass no tech. "We're reassigning it, he'll be there in 45 minutes - no tech yet. Money spent. Car dead.

I scheduled the service and made payment online. They gave me an estimated time frame of 2 hours. I waited the entire afternoon with no text and no call. I finally contacted them and was told they had no idea when a technician would get to me. No one ever showed up.

1800 battery is shit.

We call at 10am and get told it’ll be today or at the latest early tomorrow and then get 0 communication. Their website says our city, Lincoln Nebraska but then when we call this morning to see what is going on all operators declined due to distance. After holding almost $400 I am so ridiculously annoyed at this shit company.

Stay away from these extremely unprofessional people. They don't answer the phone or text messages, so you just have to keep calling back to speak to someone. But then when you finally get through to someone, it's a very rude, unhelpful, negative, incompetent person named "Joe" who just rushes through everything and gives you wrong information.

He started off by telling me that most of his drivers were still on vacation. Then he wanted to charge me double for an AGM battery, when I can get a brand new Super Start Platinum AGM from O'Reilly's for much less, with a 4-year warranty, not the garbage warranties they offer, and it would still be less with installation by a mobile mechanic. For a regular DieHard Silver, which is what I got from them 3 1/2 years ago, the 36-month warranty I previously got from them is now only 18 months for the same exact battery, and of course, the price went up. What a ripoff!

After all that, he told me he had nobody in my area. SO RUDE AND USELESS! I'm getting a much better product, price, and warranty by buying from O'Reilly's and having a mobile mechanic install it for me. I'm sure that unlike their unreliable drivers, who often show up late or don't show up at all, as what happened to me last time, my mobile mechanic will actually show up and be here tomorrow - on time! And he's an actual certified mechanic who knows what he's doing, not just whoever from this company. (See other negative reviews for more on that!) Plus, the total price will still be less than what they would charge for an AGM with an inferior warranty and installation!

Btw, attention Joe's boss: You should look into Joe's poor performance. He should not be dealing directly with the public because you can tell he hates his job, and you're likely to be losing business because of him. Even if you had a driver in my area, I would not have purchased from you due to his rudeness and misinformation. Just so you know, I called at 9:03 am on 1/2/2026 - just in case he gave me a fake name.

I posted this to Thumbtack where I found this merchant, only to have it taken down within 5 mins. of me posting. So, including here to inform people.

1-800 Battery stated they would arrive the same day (Monday) within 2-4 hours, as well as send a confirmation email containing an invoice. The technician was a no show, and no email was sent, even with me attempting multiple times to call, text and chat online. Finally on Tuesday after chat online and calling a technician showed up at 11AM. The next day I went to my mechanic to check the battery as well as my tires. The health report indicated it was a bad battery and needed to be replaced. They advertise a new battery install, but do not check the battery life when they pick up from their warehouse prior to installing in your vehicle. I requested a refund as they gave me a 3-year warranty on the battery. Only to be told differing narratives. One agent stated I could gain a refund if I returned the battery (would not disclose the location until I could confirm battery in hand). The second stated this was completely against their strict policies that I could only be warrantied out and receive no refund. Also, confirmed by their claims department. I requested corporate/supervisor to speak with - have to wait another 24 hours. Only today did I finally receive the invoice. So, after all this I paid for 2 batteries, lack of communication and transparency, and may be stuck with a charge that should be removed. DO NOT use them; it is a scam to get your money and prey on those in desperate circumstances.

My battery died in my garage and would not take a charge. There was little space to work so I tried this company. In my case it was going to take 5-7 hours for them to arrive but I agreed as I just needed the car the next morning. A polite, clean-cut, professional, friendly and knowledgeable young man arrived and installed the battery without issue. No upselling or attempts to and my final invoice was the exact amount quoted on the telephone. I am very pleased and would recommend them based upon my one experience.

JW came to my home quickly and was a consummate professional. He explained what he was doing, took care of to be clean and careful around my car, and took me through the restart procedures flawlessly.

To all future contractors,

I would not recommend this company. They have poor communication skills and they do not honor their word. I sent four emails in the past two months and I have not received a response about payments for the batteries I installed in September 2025. They claim to pay technicians for the previous work week, meaning if you installed six batteries from 10/01-10/6 you will be paid the following Friday of the 14th. But this pay structure never happened. Nearly two months, four emails (to this day 10/23/25 have not been replied to) and it took dispatch to push the payroll dept. to process my payment. Four months ago I signed a contract with them and I terminated it. I did the work I signed up for and did it perfectly, I love working on vehicles.

Don't use this joke of a company. They contract out to complete useless idiots. Had them replace a battery for my daughter out of state in FL. Guy came and replaced it. Problem now was windshield wipers would get stuck in up position. Multiple calls, no show appointments, and finally a fix that now has the wipers hitting each other. Contractor lies, keeps missing appointments and now seems like a mental case with texts he sends. Now I might have to fly down to make sure he is not a threat to my daughter. Instead of sending someone else out to fix it, 800BATTERY sends this incompetent nut job. Horrible customer service!!

I really wanted this to work. But despite promising a very short window of response, I placed order at 5:47 pm but heard it was after hours. The next day tech scheduled between 1-3 pm. No updates, no show, I called them at 3:30 and they said they had issues finding a tech. I usually contacted them for any updates , they did not initiate. Went into the next day and they continued to have same issue not being able to secure install tech. I finally canceled almost 48 hours after placing order. They were very accommodating but just couldn’t deliver on their promise.

Placed order for battery delivery with install. They insisted I need an upgrade of $130. No one showed. They still put through the upgrade payment. No refund. No one answers the phone. No one answers emails. I’ve lost money from missing work and my bank account being overdrawn from charges they said wouldn’t go through

Awful company and service. I contacted a battery replacement for 3-5pm and they couldn’t find a technician at all. I don’t need to explain all the headache this will cause me.
