Assessed duplicate charges for multiple items and refused to credit or refund

I have been shopping at 260 Sample Sale for many years and spent a small fortune in that time. On May 12, 2026, I attended the Alice + Olivia sample sale and spent close to $4k in a single trip. The moment I returned to my apartment, I discovered that the cashier rung up two of my items twice, resulting in an overcharge of $250.34 including tax. I immediately reached out to the store asking them to kindly check their inventory to confirm the discrepancy and issue either a credit or a refund. I provided images of my receipt showing the two identical SKUs and amounts. To date, they have refused to assist me and maintained that the only way for me to *possibly* resolve this issue is to return to an always-packed store and presumably wait in line for hours just to speak with a store manager. They declined my requests for a manager to call me and refused to provide a number I could call, instead saying something along the lines of “we pride ourselves on resolving in-store purchase issues at the store location” - not sure what’s to be proud of since that puts the onus of resolving the store’s egregious mistake on the customer. While I live just a few blocks away from the store and would’ve ordinarily returned swiftly, albeit with a degree of displeasure at the hassle, I’ve been working 10-12 hour days for multiple weeks now and advised them right away that I would not have the capacity to return during business hours for some time given my work schedule - in fact I took an entire day off to attend the sale in the first place. I also noted that I had only 30 days to dispute the $250.34 overcharge with my card issuer and very much did NOT want to go that route but would have to if I wasn’t credited within that timeframe. I requested that they look at my extensive purchase history and the amount of my purchases to see that I would have no reason to fabricate a story about a comparatively small amount. Again I was told they could not help me, and they blamed me for my inability to return to the store in person as that was the only avenue I could take to get assistance. They were frankly quite nasty and dismissive, and even went so far as to threaten me that, if I filed a chargeback for the $250.34, they would immediately terminate my loyalty account which currently has over 10k points and ban me from the store. I’ve since filed multiple complaints against the store and have yet to be contacted by them. What kind of sham operation are they running? The sale I attended was an absolute zoo and they provided no in-store shopping bags, making it impossible for me to even count how many items I was purchasing so I would see that, while I bought 22 items, I was charged for 24. This is an absolute disgrace of a business and I would strongly advise to steer clear entirely or be sure to count every item before leaving the store despite the difficulty in doing so since they staple the bags shut and there’s barely room to move in the store when a popular sale is occurring. I’m absolutely disgusted by the ridiculous overcharge, the store’s utter lack of accountability, and the fact that they would dare to threaten a long time customer from whom they literally stole money. I’ve yet to dispute the charge but will clearly have to do so, forfeiting my account in the process. Shame on you, 260 Sample Sale. I’ve been a loyal customer for years and this is how you show your appreciation?

Damaged item

Purchased a very expensive new dress. The dress that was delivered was significantly damaged. There are no returns or refunds. I contacted Wool& the manufacturer and they stated for me to contact 260 that they weren’t responsible. Regardless at this point I am out significant money.

It took a month to get 1/3 of my order

The only reason they're not getting one star is because Jasmine in customer service did a great job navigating the absolute chaos that goes on in their warehouse. I ordered three items. One month and several emails later, my order was finally delivered but only one of the items was sent. The shipped emails indicated all three were delivered. I was able to get the other two items refunded after a couple of emails, but they did not refund any shipping. By then it cost nearly full retail price at a department store. After two more emails they refunded half of the shipping cost.

I took a chance because I really wanted the deal, but it wasn't worth it and I won't be shopping with them again

Mayowa at the 260 Sample Sale (Phillip Lim) was EVERYTHING today 🙌
Super helpful, super on it, and just had the best vibe. Even with the chaos, she kept things moving and made the whole experience actually fun. You can tell she really cares and goes the extra mile without you even having to ask.

Give her a raise!! 💯

We recently went to a Parke sample sale…

We recently went to a Parke sample sale in Dallas, TX and it was done very well. The lines and ticketing system was very easy and well managed. The stock was organized and well labeled. Check out was a breeze and the staff were all friendly. Troy was especially helpful and kind managing the long lines.

Zero stars would be more accurate

Zero stars would be more accurate. I’ve ordered with them 3 times. Two of which had fulfillment issues. In the most recent, they refused to provide a refund for a product that did not arrive for nearly 6 weeks and over 12 back and forth emails. Their customer service and business practices were in violation of Consumer Protection Laws and FTC policy, and likely constituted Fraud. It was not until I filed a report with the BBB and reminded them they needed to respond to my prior emails that they did. If you have an issue, they will not help. They do not care about your experience and will do everything in their power to protect their bottom line. I have never felt the need to review a business before, but their dismissiveness and the difficulty and delay in their responses made this necessary. Buyer’s Beware!

Not alone in having issues - products never delivered

I see now that I am not alone in having issues with 260 Sample Sale. I order 2x Zadig and Voltaire bags online. After a long delay, I followed up. That is how the brand finally shipped them. However, they only shipped one.

I have corresponded with customer service for a couple of weeks. They just sent me the original packing invoice, which I already had sent them, and said the brand refused to give a refund.

I like going to the sales in person even though the pricing is sometimes off. This is theft and I will report to BBB.

Disgusted and Flabbergasted...

On Thursday, December 4, 2025, I attended the LAST day of the MACKAGE Sample Sale. The plan was to purchase TWO winter coats, as I’ve done so annually for the past 7 years. I registered to attend this event several days prior and descended all the way from Brooklyn, NY to The Met Pavillion in 30-dg weather. However, upon arrival, I was informed by the coat-check staff that "Apple Pay and cash were NOT acceptable forms of payment(s)." Despite this being a very CRITICAL detail for shoppers, no formal announcement was made nor ANY prior notice was given in any of the 100 emails that 260 Sample Sale circulated.

To obtain further clarification, I attempted to consult with manager, "John," but he seemed visibly annoyed that I was even seeking to confer with him. Despite my pleading with him, John was curt, seemed to care less, and didn’t even offer me a one-time exception to their “NEW” payment policy! I will NO longer be attending ANY of the 260 Sample Sales!!!!

I visited the Dallas store

I visited the Dallas store. Jerry speaks to customers like they are children. He’s rude and very disrespectful. He told me another customer we couldn’t bring our babies stroller in and don’t put my baby down! The man is so rude! It looks like a flea market in there!

I would give zero stars if I could

I would give zero stars if I could, I placed an order for quite an expensive item. Have email confirmation, supposedly shipping confirmation but the link is broken & doesn’t provide any tracking details. Emailed on 4 occasions now, no customer service what so ever. No response. No item. Very disappointed. The item was a winter coat for my son. Right before Christmas. Do not buy from this company.

Zero on my last order you are lucky if you get your items. Use credit card protection. Act quickly to get your money back.

At the NYC stores didn’t have an issue, the items though are always more expensive than when you are buying online.
P.S.
I had previously good experience ordering on line until I made a $200 purchase.

260 Does Not Stand Behind Their Merchandise …

I was a good customer of 260 Sample Sale. In June 2025 I purchased a Hanky Panky Bathing Suit. After wearing it six times over approximately a 2 month period the color ran and it became blotchy all over. I sent them photos of the bathing suit and I asked for a replacement, refund, or credit for the defective bathing suit. They refused to do anything. I basically paid $45 for a DEFECTIVE bathing suit that I wore only six times, I also tried consulting the Hanky Panky company. They too would take no responsibility. I will never purchase anything from either company again.

Amazing Customer Service

I have made several online orders in the past with absolutely no issues. In my most recent order, I typed in the wrong address. I emailed customer service with my issue, and it was resolved very quickly and transparently. Every step of updating the shipping details was written in an email- Thanks, Jasmine!

no issue if you visit the physical store

If you visit the physical store, there’s usually no issue. However, be very cautious when ordering online.

I had a terrible experience. They shipped the wrong items three times, and one item was missing entirely (which they never refunded). Instead of correcting their mistake quickly, they required me to ship the wrong items back first, and only then would they send the correct items. Unfortunately, that never happened, and I ultimately had to file a chargeback to get my money back.

Inconsistent

I have been ordering off of 260 sample sale for about a year now. At first, the service and shipping was just fine. It has only been recently that my orders kept getting cancelled. If you are ordering items off here, it is a gamble whether you'll actually get them or not. I am disappointed in the inconsistency of it.
