Abbey Bike Tools is not all they claim to be. I’ve used many Abbey Bike Tools throughout my career and have been pretty disappointed in the construction of some of their tools. I’ve had multiple “long lasting tools”, as they claim on directly on their website, completely break after only a few months of use.
When I’ve reached out to take advantage of the tools’ lifetime warranties, the representatives at Abbey Bike Tools claimed that the tools breaking must have been due to user error. I’ve been working on bikes for over ten years and I’ve never had the Park Tool versions of these tools break on me, but the Abbey Bike Tools which were way more expensive broke after only a few months.
Here is a pro tip for you Abbey Bike Tools: When a customer reaches out for a warranty on tools that should never break the way your tools have broken, just send them a replacement, no questions asked, or even better, send them an upgraded version of the tools, at no extra cost, that way the customer might leave feeling like they were taken care of and may be more likely to return.
Don’t blame them for the tools breaking and then recommend a supposedly stronger version of the tools at a discounted cost. The customer is already feeling unhappy with their purchase from your company, they don’t want to have to pay more just to hopefully now receive the quality they were promised in the first place.
