Very poor service, We ordered to deliver summon for Director Of Nursing of this Center Valley Specialty Hospital Modesto, and ABC Legal failed to deliver and asking new adress.

Our firm has had numerous experiences where this company fails to even dispatch the service attempts ordered, but the platform shows the attempts as "unsuccessful" (not: "never attempted", the accurate description). You have no idea there's an issue until after your writs of summons expire. Further, they don't issue refunds unless specifically requested on an order-by-order basis, meaning they retain funds for orders placed and confirmed but NEVER dispatched. Unacceptable.

This company is a total joke — and based on my experience, it feels like the business model is more about collecting fees than actually completing service.

I hired ABC Legal Services to complete service of process in two matters. In NYC, the initial attempt was made at a mailing address. After that failed, I provided a valid physical business address — and instead of correcting the order, I was required to submit a new request and pay an additional fee just to attempt service at the correct location.

Even after that, their first attempt at the correct address failed because the process server spoke with a concierge and simply left without making any real effort to have someone come down to accept service. Only after I pushed and provided clear instructions was service eventually completed — proving the issue was not access or difficulty, but lack of effort.

In Colorado, their handling of personal service has been unacceptable.

Their own process server confirmed the defendant resides at the address and made contact with a resident. Instead of completing service or making reasonable follow-up attempts, they labeled the situation “unsafe” due to the presence of household dogs (Poodles!), refused to return, and closed the file.

ABC Legal then:

-Refused to reassign a different process server
-Refused to continue attempts despite confirmed residency
-Claimed the address is “not servable”
-Attempted to charge an additional fee to send the sheriff instead

At that point, it becomes clear — they’re not trying to complete service, they’re trying to charge you again.

This is not a service issue. It’s a failure to perform followed by an upsell.

Process serving often involves evasive individuals — that’s literally the job. Walking away after initial contact and shifting the burden back onto the client is unacceptable.

I paid for service of process, not excuses and not repeat charges.

Given that service was never completed despite a confirmed valid address, I am requesting a full refund for the failed service.

If you actually need service completed, hire a local process server. ABC Legal is NOT it.

**UPDATE:**

ABC Legal has now responded publicly and internally, but their response still does not address the core issue.

Their process server confirmed the defendant resides at the address and made contact at the residence. The service was not completed because the server chose not to continue — not because the address is invalid or unservable.

This was not a safety issue. It was a routine residential service involving an evasive individual, and the job was abandoned after initial contact.

Despite that, ABC Legal has:

* Refused to reassign a different process server
* Refused to continue attempts
* Closed the order
* Attempted to charge additional fees instead of completing the service

This has now been escalated, and I am requesting a full refund due to failure to complete service despite confirmed residency and contact at the address.

I will update this review further based on how they resolve (or fail to resolve) this issue.

Efficient, easy and professional.

They assigned an incorrect court and incorrect court date to my record. Just pulling the data from the submitted documents was not correct. I expected them to submit the proof of service to the court and they did not. I got a call from the court asking for the proof, i was able to get the proof and submit. The website and tech is very good. But the attention to detail is not good.

I also paid extra for expedited service. Was supposed to be two days. They don't serve documents over the weekend. They got my documents served with very little time to spare and if they had to make two trips they would not have made the deadline. Getting a refund of the service fee vs a tenant getting to stay another two weeks or a month is much more expensive. My point being, i don't want a refund i want you go do what I expected you to do.
