Placement not on time. Due to that had to go through unnecessary struggles.

This institution presents itself as a more affordable option for international students pursuing university-level studies. However, the perceived lower tuition fees do not necessarily translate into value for money due to significant concerns regarding the quality of education and student support.
While there are some competent educators within the faculty, there's a notable inconsistency in teaching quality. Several instructors are reported to be unprofessional and demonstrably lack the necessary knowledge in their fields, which significantly undermines the learning experience.
Of particular concern is the leadership within the student placement department, specifically in social work. The head of this area is described as exhibiting a lack of professional integrity, failing to embody the principles she teaches. This includes an apparent disregard for trauma-informed care and a tendency towards unprofessional conduct, such as using an aggressive tone and inappropriate language with students. The primary focus appears to be on maintaining the school's accreditation rather than fostering a supportive and enriching educational environment.
Furthermore, the school struggles to secure suitable student placements. Students report being coerced into accepting available placements, regardless of their relevance or alignment with their educational goals. This lack of choice and control leaves students feeling exploited and disempowered.
In conclusion, despite the seemingly lower tuition costs, the overall experience can be considered financially burdensome due to the substandard educational delivery and inadequate student support. The institution's failure to practice what it preaches and its perceived mistreatment of international students contribute to a mediocre and ultimately dissatisfying academic journey.
The placement team’s professionalism is unsatisfactory, and their conduct does not meet expectations.
There is a consistent lack of support in finding placements for students. Despite students’ proactive efforts to secure their placements, the team tends to reject these opportunities rather than assist or facilitate the process.
The placement team is often uncooperative and does not provide the necessary guidance or encouragement to students seeking placements.
We have paid huge money for the one placement, and they think it's a joke??????

Great help received through out the current degree - ACAP make it do able for me !! ❤️❤️
While on placement, I am developing a positive mindset after reflecting on the early challenges I encountered. I realise that no matter what, heaven will always have my back. I am currently enjoying the learning and development, further honing my skill sets
I love the teacher interation and the resources this school gives me.
The time tabling in the masters degree is atrocious. ACAP prided themselves prior to students choosing ACAP that each unit had multiple tutorial days and times to offer flexibility and inclusivity particularly for mature age masters students who likely had many other commitments besides study. This couldn’t be further from the truth. Mostly one single day and time is offered for each unit making it almost impossible to study and maintain other responsibilities such as work, parenting etc. Not really good enough.

While the content of the lectures is o great quality and reflects up to date practice.
there have been some areas for improvement identified.
Students from non English speaking backgrounds and new students appear to have not had online learning system explained
There is a desperate need for international student groups and the promotion of these groups
While Access Ability is highly promoted, the functionality o this group is lacking sadly. Many aspects of the website and content are not accessible
There is unfortunately, inconsistency with marking across the same subject depending on the tutor you get.
Intensives tutors are excellent. However student concerns about some academic staff are not addressed.

university and teachers are great and supportive but i will be honest, i found fees are bit up then it should be.
I am a student in the master of clinical psychology practice course. Great lecturers! I found the staff to be very lovely and approachable. However, I found the marking assignment turn-around to be poor across all units. This is an area which requires further review. Moreover, the course could be improved by having two separate units- one unit could focus on adult diagnoses/interventions and the second unit could be child focused. This might be another way to organise the subject material. Overall, my rating is 3 stars out of 5.

It’s a wonderful campus to learn and grow. Friendly teacher and campus staff, loving overall experience here.
As a Perth student paying the same fees as those in other states, I am experiencing issues with workshops not being held. This affects my learning journey and disadvantages me when completing assignments, especially role-play videos that are meant to be done in workshop time with other students. I am having to outsource a lot. Even my placement was not implemented, and I ended up withdrawing. I will now have to find my own placement.

Lecturers and Tutors specialists in their field of teaching. Approachable, empathetic and supportive. The combination of completing the degree and receiving the opportunity to do placement at ACAP Clinics, both fundamental to securing full time employment in my dream job.
It’s a good University and I have had no issues or problems.Nice professors
Learning through proper guidance and experienced professionals.
The tutors and lecturers plus the processes are intuitive to use
If someone had asked me a couple of years ago whether I would recommend studying at ACAP, I would have confidently said yes. Back then, I truly believed ACAP offered one of the best learning environments with high quality teaching, engaging learning styles, great resources, and knowledgeable, supportive lecturers. Unfortunately, I’ve noticed a clear decline in the quality of education and student support over time. The most concerning changes include the decreasing quality of some educators being hired, a growing sense that student feedback is being ignored, and a general lack of appreciation for the student experience. I no longer feel I can recommend ACAP to others based on how things are now. I genuinely hope this feedback is taken seriously and leads to meaningful improvements.
Great experience for me so far (Graduate Certificate and Master's of Counselling and Psychotherapy). I also received a scholarship (academic excellence), which helped with the fees. Felt supported.
I’m currently enrolled in the Master of Counselling and Psychotherapy at ACAP University College, and I genuinely regret choosing this institution. My experience has been so poor that I feel more in need of counselling than prepared to deliver it. Here’s why:
Extremely Expensive & Poor Quality Content: For a course with such a hefty price tag, the quality is shockingly low. Much of the content is self-taught. While a few lecturers are passionate and competent, most of the material is outdated, riddled with errors, and poorly maintained. Lecture slides are sloppy, readings link to expired articles, and the Perth campus has no physical library. The online resources are also limited.
Misleading Fees: I’m now being charged a Student Services and Amenities Fee (SSAF), despite never using these services. When I do attend campus once a term for mandatory workshops, it’s unclear what exactly this fee covers. It feels like another cash grab.
Unavailable or Poorly Delivered Units: Units are frequently unavailable or delivered so poorly that students are forced to attend repetitive ‘make-up’ workshops. These workshops are generic, uninspired, and the same each time, regardless of the missed content.
Underprepared Teaching Staff: Lecturers often don’t know the assignment requirements and regularly deflect student questions to unit coordinators, who can also be unresponsive.
Placement Process is a Disaster: This is by far the most frustrating part. ACAP claims to have hundreds of placement connections—this is simply not true. Particularly in Perth, there appear to be zero active partnerships. I spent six months securing my own placement because the university offered no support. Even after handing a willing organisation directly to the placement team, they failed to act. I’ve had to chase them every single week to do their job. The team is passive-aggressive, unresponsive, and entirely ineffective.
Final Thoughts:
ACAP needs to stop advertising for more students until they fix the issues plaguing the student experience—especially the placement process. Either be honest that students will need to find their own placements or invest in building real partnerships and a competent placement team.
If I had known this was what I was signing up for, I would have avoided ACAP entirely. I chose this course for flexibility, but the disorganisation, lack of support, and extra burden placed on students have made it anything but flexible.
I strongly urge prospective students to look elsewhere.
