Absolutely shocking company
Absolutely shocking company! Since boots have changed to Adaro I have had nothing but trouble! They have taken £126 out of my bank account today, I have proof from the bank, but they are saying that they have only taken £42, and if I am found to be telling the truth it will take 3 weeks to refund MY money that you had no authority to take!! I shall be taking this further!
This is a strange update
I tried to order lenses online but had to re-register for my Boots opticians ( contact lense rewards? ) account first. I recieved an e-mail as part of this registration, but initially thought it was a scam as it has ‘Adaro’ as the sender and not Boots.
I just want to order more lenses but seem to only be able to do that if I change the date of my next delivery of lenses on the scheme. A very unclear and basic looking update.

They NEVER answer the phone
Adaro have taken over Boots opticians 'contact lenses by post' scheme from another company, and the customer service has gone from 10/10 with the other company to 0/10. Clearly Boots are trying to save money but customer service has gone with it. This company NEVER answer the phone!

A terrible update
Account says payments were due on 15th February = direct debit not taken, and 15th March = direct debit not taken again! Have informed Boots via Adaro on both occasions and I have not received any response. Hopefully they may respond on here, who knows! Rest assured I AM NOT PAYING THE WHOLE OVERDUE AMOUNT IN ONE GO!!!

Absolutely Awful subscription platform
Absolutely Awful subscription platform. All emails go to junk.. Set up your email servers correctly... Website locks you out for a hour. "Activation link not valid " please phone boots. "Account already created" - Email password reset still locked out for a hour... Worst designed platform I've come across in quite a while.
I'm on day 3 of trying to check my contact lens delivery and still can't login.. They are contact lenses not blocks of gold.

AVOID AVOID AVOID - this company have no customer service! Do not take any glasses out on finance with them! Every month I am sent emails saying failed direct debit, 4 months in a row now, took a day of work to go to my bank & then Vision Express where I bought the glasses as nobody will answer calls at Adaro. Promised will not happen again yet this morning here we are same again. Voted Top Optician 2024, my ARSE!!
My glasses will be going back & as per a review below I will be going to Specsavers!
Update - Now received the below, typical automated response, I have emailed you numerous times about this. Look me up, there can't be too many customers with my surname!

If its sounds too good to be true ...
Adaro seem to be a financial services company "Providing optical retailers a new way to increase revenue and reduce drop out. " If you try to buy glasses you are steered towards taking out a loan with this outfit -- if you don't the cash price will be double. Zero interest, no supplementary charges?? How does this work?

Should have gone to Specsavers
I’ve already left a review on VE forum so I’ll restrict my comments to the financial side of things. We were steered towards taking out finance because it was explained to us there were certain benefits that would only be available free of charge cost if we took the finance route. Ok we said but also said we would cancel the finance when paying the balance because we were told those benefits would still be available if the finance was discontinued. So far so good.
We were not advised the glasses were ready to collect because text messages were not sent to us so instead of a 2 week wait it was 4 and by the time we collected the glasses on the 16th Dec 2 instalments had been taken. Not that it was a problem because the 2 instalments would be deducted from the final payment.
The problem was the second instalment was taken on the 16th Dec but hadn’t cleared from the VE system so the assistant was unable to deduct it which I found infuriating because I could prove the instalment had been taken.
The assistant said she would call Adaro the next day and arrange for the amount to be refunded immediately and phone me to confirm it had been done. As of 20th Dec no phone call and no refund.
I found the phone number for Adaro and spoke to a very pleasant young man whose name I didn’t take and explained all of the above but all he could do was to say the amount was being processed and would be in my account within 10 days which would mean by 31/12 which I pointed out was poor service and would mean I would have had to have waited 2 weeks to be refunded. He said he would try to get it to me earlier but the person responsible wasn’t in that day so he would sort it on Monday (23rd).
With Christmas next week I doubt very much whether I will receive the refund by 31/12 and all in all I think very poor service all round. A payment comes from my account instantly and will arrive at the recipient the same day. I don’t understand why I have to wait 2 weeks to get my refund. It serves only Adanola and their cashflow.

Disorganised.
Happy for there to be an option to set up a payment plan for expensive glasses (1star) but not if they are as disorganised as I have found them to be so far. I unfortunately was unable to make a payment so cancelled the DD and asked that the next month payment be doubled to cover the missed one. Simple yes? No. I Spoke to a lovely member of staff (+1star) who understood my difficulties and DD reinstated for the next month, confirmation received via email, lovely. However, I continued to receive personalised warning emails asking me to set the DD back up and that a payment had been missed. This is despite me resending them the confirmation of DD that their colleague had sent me.
The direct debit was also taken this morning, 2 weeks earlier than agreed so I’ve had to cancel it again! I don’t have the capacity to give this company so much attention. I will amend this rating if things improve but my expectations are not high.
