Excellent friendly and polite great stair lift

10 weeks.
The footplate needed a new motor the day it was fitted - the engineer booked it in, a week later I chased it up, no idea according to ?Natalia - but booked it in for ' next week' no time given the engineer will call...
The engineer couldn't come, booked another and another appointment until one finally came and told us there was a motor in it, and it wasn't that was broken but a cog, and he couldn't fit that.
Natalia phoned again - I'm not very good at explaining the samme thing 3 times but heigh ho - I'll give it a try.
Another engineer booked - then on Friday night she phoned again to tell us that the engineer who was booked couldn't fit the part needed it would have to be someone else.
That someone was Ryan who turned up at 21:30 on a Sunday night and wasn't happy.
He took one look at the lift and started
1: tighten all the bolts on the stairs cause the whole thing was loose
2: look at the footplate and tell us there was a motor in it (we know, it wasnt that but a cog that was broken) he didn't have a cog and that wouldn't work it needed a whole unit.
3: listen to the clicking, the dragging, and the leaning, (it didn't used to lean, we know this because my husbands knees didn't touch the wall opposite and his fingers didn't get trapped in the bannister rail when he he tries to turn round.
4: Watch it slide a bit when it reaches the top
5: Tell us the whole chair unit needs replacing - its not safe.
The arms need switching so the hand controls are not on the side that hits the wall.
6: The foot plate would have to be tilted upwards to miss the bottom step (it didn't when we first got it and could use it manually) because the cog/motor whatever wasn't working ...
7: He would tell the office that we need an entirely new chair &motor and footplate & motor and arms putting on the opposite side. And that the office wouldnt argue as he was the head mechanic.
Roll on yesterday 8/12/25 &10 weeks exactly since it was fitted and a phone call from the engineer telling me he was coming at 18:30 to fit the footplate and swap the arms over.
Cue a conversation about COGS again. He doesn't have the part to fit.
Phone call with Natalia for what feels like the 100th time.
I will admit I was extremely frustrated and very angry.
THE PEOPLE IN THIS COMPANY DO NOT LISTEN.
I WANT THE LIFT TAKING OUT.
But I have been told it has been in longer than 14 days. So what about misleading descriptions and misselling products not fit for purpose

They were very responsive and professional throughout the process from the initial survey to installation. great customer service if only all companies were like them.

The stairlift was cheaper than direct deals with the main suppliers and was fitted expertly.

Easy to deal with, from arranging the survey, to the survey itself. Colin was very helpful in presenting the various options, despite my deafness. They arranged a very quick installation once we decided to go ahead as my wife came out of hospital sooner than expected. The installer was also very communicative, kept me and my family informed, when he would arrive, how ling it would take etc. Was very neat,and tidy a day house was left impeccably clean once the work was completed, again updated us all and provided his number should we have any issues. I can not recommend Affordable Stairlifts enough should you need some installing.

Absolute first class service. Speedy repair expertly executed reasonable call out charge would definately recommend .

So very disappointed states it’s a national company but sends installers from Birmingham to Clacton , Essex and messed up first installation by bring the wrong stairlift had to wait another week same installer from Birmingham again stuck in traffic cancelled order , would not recommend if you live in the south of England .

Good company to deal with and professional installation

Absolutely amazing service and product. I cannot recommend this company highly enough ... The little touches, like taking shoes off when coming in to the house, to impartial, relevant advice. Professional, friendly, courtesy and knowledgeable.
Lovely job done and life for my Dad has been changed for the better ... In just a few days ( other companies were quoting 4 to 6 weeks, with no regard to our urgent situation).

Could only find handicare sticker on the chair rang affordable stairlifts and was greeted with the most angry person on the phone who told me to wait I can't understand what you're saying.
Could not believe how rude and arrogant this person was i ended the call immediately.

Good knowledgable staff/ company

Paula gave us great advice customer service second to none with helpful and friendly manner. We have finally sorted a stairlift for mum.

Everybody was great and it all went smoothly.
The consultation was great, John was very detailed about everything.
Then Alfie installed the stairlift a couple of day's later and it was up and working within a couple of hours and it all works great.

Ordering, paying, delivery and installation were all speedily carried out to a very high standard. I can recommend this company and rate it EXCELENT

Mike Carroll visited me today to discuss the possibility and options available to us for a stair lift. I can’t thank him enough, he was very patient, clearly knew his craft and was able to explain all the benefits of an installation and answer any questions without hesitation. I’m looking forward to our installation.
