After Art 

I recently discovered After Art and met the owner Avril as I had a very special old photograph of my late parents which was faded and discoloured. She was extremely helpful and spent lots of time and effort restoring and framing my picture. I was absolutely thrilled with the result . April is a very talented photographer and artist and has wonderful little shop in the creative area of Folkestone, I would highly recommend her to any and everyone interested in art, restoration and framing. I visited 5 galleries in the area as I was looking for something local that would evoke past memories, and wanted vibrant colours. Avril had a wide range of stunning images, but not quite what I wanted ("I'll know it when I see it"). As well as the gallery display she had internet access to a wide range of material, often exclusive to her gallery. She was also able to show me images on her high-definition monitor to show true colours (tablet images not always being 100% accurate). Avril was very informative and patient over my 3 visits, and when I finally decided upon "Folkestone Warren Sunrise" by Phil Drury, she was very helpful in advising upon the most appropriate mount, frame and glass. The end result is perfect, and I would highly recommend a visit.

Stumbled across this wonderful shop in the summer and my 20 year old daughter fell in love with a painting but didn’t have the money to buy it at the time. Fast forward and I called the owner a week before Christmas, she remembered us and the painting, to see if she was able to produce it poster size. I have just collected my original one-off painting in time for Christmas - cannot wait to see my daughter’s face. For a bespoke service the customer service was beyond excellent and great value for money too.

Avril advised the pictures I’d ordered should be delivered early in the new year. As it happens they arrived at my home just four days after purchase, Christmas Eve in fact. Fantastic service and communication, really pleased with the whole experience. Thank you.

My husband and I reached milestone birthdays in September this year. Family kindly clubbed together and gave us money to put towards a gift of our choice. We wanted to buy a piece of local artwork and headed into the Creative Quarter in Folkestone where we discovered After Art Gallery. We tend to feel a little uncomfortable and intimidated in art galleries, however, that certainly was not the case in After Art. Avril, the owner made us feel very welcome and was passionate and knowledgeable on the artists and pieces/works that she stocks. We were delighted to find the prices very reasonable allowing us to purchase two framed prints of local scenes. Avril's advice/input on the print size, choice of frame and glass was really helpful. The service was quick too and our orders were ready for collection within a week or so of placing.

We came across "After Art" during one of our days out browsing for pictures/art and what a find!

One of Sue Dixon's pictures caught my eye and Avril has been more than helpful. I took some photos of the pieces we liked and using an app I have managed to see what the pieces look like in our room of choice with our furniture. Avril also managed to send me more pieces to try out and also asked Sue Dixon to enhance one of the colours on one of the pieces. I spoke with Avril about prices over the phone as we have decided on canvas. However, when we went back to "After Art" we have decided that the non reflective (matt) acrylic finish will be more suitable as it is more modern. Avril, again was very patient and worked out the pricing (which was a lot more than the canvas but it was totally worth it). So we finally ordered 3 pieces of art, in different sizes, by Sue Dixon.

The delivery was prompt and the pieces were very well wrapped and packaged. However, upon opening the package, there were only 2 pieces. I called Avril to let her know and she followed it up straight away. The "missing" piece turned up two days later (as it was a weekend) and perfectly packaged.

We have really enjoyed working with Avril in choosing our pieces. She has been very helpful and supportive. I would certainly shop with "After Art" again. They have some beautiful pieces of art and a good mix of artists with varied style of work.

Saw a lovely sunflower picture in the window and decided to get one but in a different colour frame. Avril was very knowledgable and filled me in about the artist and the process printing it.
The picture arrived a week later really well packaged. Very pleased with it.

I needed art for my bedroom and was really fussy about what went in the space I needed. Avril has lovely stock in her shop.

I found one stunning flower water colour looking photograph, but I really wanted a dragonfly in it.

The genius photographer, Sue Dixon was able to do some wizardry and print me a copy of the art I liked, with a dragonfly inserted and the picture is divine! So pretty, feminine, magical. And just what I needed. It lifts me up each time that I gaze on it.
