They are bunch of scammers.
They removed my funds without authorization and no reason.
I called them to complain, they keep cutting the calls.

I wanted to test their Qween TTS model API, created account, payed for subscription, and they blocked usage because need KYC. WTF? KYC for AI service? you are not a bank institution! Anyway I've provided all documents and what you think? Support still rejecting it. BECAUSE IT IS SCAM!!! Stay away from this platform! AND NEVER BUY THEIR STOCK you will louse your money!!!

They won't let me remove card and when I tried they gave solution which does not exist.

I registered for Alibaba Cloud to test their services and Model Studio API, but the entire experience was a complete waste of time due to misleading tactics and terrible UX.

First, they advertise promotional rates like $0.99/month for cloud instances, but as soon as you proceed to checkout, the price arbitrarily jumps to $8.00/month. They do not clearly state upfront that identity verification (uploading passport/driver's license) is strictly required just to claim basic trial credits or use initial features.

To make matters worse, when I decided to close my account and leave, their system completely trapped me. They blocked the account deletion process due to a system-generated background task ("Logic Composer") that I never manually activated. When I tried to release it, their console threw errors stating my order was "suspended for account security," preventing me from removing the service or finalizing the deletion.

Misleading pricing, forced collection of highly sensitive personal documents for simple trial access, and a artificially obstructed account cancellation workflow. Stay away if you value your time and privacy.

Tive uma experiência extremamente frustrante com a Alibaba Cloud. A proposta dos serviços é interessante, e por isso fiz a assinatura de um plano trimestral e efetuei o pagamento. No entanto, o processo de verificação de identidade e pagamento tornou o serviço, na prática, impossível de usar.

Enviei toda a documentação pessoal solicitada e também os documentos da minha empresa. Mesmo assim, a empresa passou a exigir a foto do cartão físico utilizado na compra. Isso é um problema sério, porque no Brasil muitos clientes utilizam cartões digitais por segurança, especialmente em compras online. Nesse caso, o cartão físico pode nem existir na mesma forma usada na transação, ou pode ter numeração diferente, o que torna a validação inviável.

O mais contraditório é que recebi contato de um agente de vendas oferecendo os serviços e incentivando a experimentação da plataforma. Mas como experimentar algo se o pagamento já foi feito e a validação básica não consegue ser concluída? A experiência transmitiu falta de adaptação ao mercado local e um suporte pouco prático para resolver um problema que eles mesmos impõem.

Também me surpreendeu negativamente a reputação geral da empresa em plataformas de avaliação, que agora faz sentido diante dessa burocracia excessiva. No estado atual, não recomendo a Alibaba Cloud para quem precisa de um processo de contratação simples, moderno e compatível com a realidade de pagamentos no Brasil.

Worst platform in the world. I used dozens of hosting providers. They demand my ID, international passport, driver license, business ID, bank card photo, bank statements, ... All this for "identity verification". And then I am still not accepted. What a disgusting invasion of privacy. Do not use this platform! Then it took me almost weeks to being able to delete my account. What a privacy nightmare, never do business with them!

Wow, sowas schlechtes hab ich noch nicht gesehen und ich hab inzwischen einige Cloud Provider durch. Hier funktioniert nichts oder es ist so unlogisch aufgebaut, dass man sich echt fragt was denken sich die Entwickler hier? Wahrscheinlich nichts… Account gleich wieder geschlossen. I am a student who rented an Alibaba Cloud server for personal learning and experiments. I was charged approximately ¥3500 RMB for 5.4TB of unexpected outbound traffic — an amount that is devastating for a student.
Throughout the entire period of this massive traffic surge, Alibaba Cloud sent me absolutely no alert — no email, no SMS, no in-platform notification of any kind.
When I raised a billing dispute, the support team acknowledged that no alert was sent, but refused to offer any refund, claiming they “cannot determine the traffic baseline” for my account. This is unacceptable. A single-hour peak of 50GB is an objectively abnormal spike for any individual user — any responsible cloud provider should be able to flag this.
AWS, GCP, and Azure all provide free billing alert features. Alibaba Cloud’s failure to provide basic traffic anomaly notifications directly caused my financial loss, yet they refuse to take any responsibility.
As a student using this server purely for learning purposes, a ¥3500 unexpected charge is an enormous financial burden. I stopped the service immediately upon discovery and have been a customer with a previously normal billing history.
I would not recommend Alibaba Cloud International to any student or individual developer who values cost transparency and basic customer protection.

Arnaque déguisée en "Free Trial" — Méfiez-vous !

J'ai créé un compte Free Trial sur Alibaba Cloud en pensant pouvoir tester la plateforme en toute sécurité, sans risque financier. Nulle part lors de l'inscription il n'est clairement indiqué que dépasser les limites du trial peut entraîner des frais exorbitants et immédiats, sans aucun avertissement préalable.

J'ai utilisé OpenCode pour effectuer un audit de mon projet (environ 33 000 lignes de code). L'outil a tourné pendant plus de 10 minutes pour finalement retourner une erreur — donc aucun résultat utilisable. 30 minutes plus tard, je découvre un solde négatif important sur mon compte, et Alibaba Cloud me réclame maintenant le paiement de cette opération qui n'a pourtant produit aucune valeur.

C'est une pratique commerciale trompeuse : un "Free Trial" qui se transforme silencieusement en facturation agressive, sans consentement explicite, sans notification en temps réel, et sans résultat fourni. Aucune entreprise sérieuse ne facture un service qui s'est soldé par une erreur.

Je recommande à tous les développeurs de fuir cette plateforme et de chercher des alternatives transparentes. AWS, GCP et Azure offrent des limites de dépenses claires et des alertes budgétaires — Alibaba Cloud, visiblement, non.

Impossible to do business with these people, were a company trying to build a SAAS with their services, our "customer care manager" isnt helping or responding to my messages and doesnt help with anything. We will have to find another supplier.

Alibaba Direct Mail explicitly advertises support for "batch emails, product promotions, and newsletters" — but their antispam system blocks unique unsubscribe links, which are required by every real email marketing platform and by CAN-SPAM law.
When I followed ALL their requirements:
✓ Opted-in recipients only
✓ Valid unsubscribe link included
✓ Template manually reviewed and approved by their team
✓ No spam words in content
Emails still got rejected with error: 554 Reject by content spam
Their support confirmed unique per-user URLs are not allowed — but without unique URLs, your app cannot identify who unsubscribed. They suggest using a static unsubscribe URL, which means asking users to manually type their email to unsubscribe — a terrible experience that violates one-click unsubscribe standards.
This is a fundamental contradiction: they sell you a marketing email service that cannot support standard marketing features.

I signed up for Alibaba Cloud’s Coding Plan specifically to avoid surprise PAYG bills for AI API usage. Their console UX kept my old PAYG API key active and made it non‑obvious which key was actually attached to the Coding Plan. I unknowingly used the wrong key, consumed the same type of resources that should have fallen under the Coding Plan, and was then billed at higher PAYG rates.

Support repeatedly hid behind “personal configuration error” even after I explained the UX trap and asked for a small gesture of goodwill (refund or account credit). They refused both and only offered to refund unused Coding Plan balance if I stopped using it. I’ve paid, cancelled everything, and moved my workloads elsewhere.

If you value clear billing UX and basic goodwill when an honest mistake happens, I would strongly recommend choosing another AI/cloud provider.

Boy the bill is overdue for 0.05 usd and they nevel told me anything and delete everything. What a shame!

I would ask anybody that plans to use AlibabaCloud for anything to NOT USE IT. They always gaslights their customer. I bought a Simple Application Server, it comes with a 200mbps peak bandwidth 1core 2gb ram, I idle the server most of the time, even though I rarely uses it, the network was suddenly limited to 20mbps rendering completely unusable. Customer support blaming me that I didnt read their ToS that simple application server is not meant to use for hosting, like wtf? And their network peering is close to subpar, everything is public peering, and they charge you a fortune for outbound traffic, which is unreasonable. Services from AWS/google/azure provides private peering for all major ISP and gave cheaper outbound traffic prices.

Finally, customer support always starts with gaslighting, asking you to purchase more expensive plans despite it was a datacenter network peering issue, and provide no real solutions to the said problem.

Very disappointing experience

I signed up for a 12-month VPS and was initially impressed — setup was smooth, and I even received a courtesy call from their support team to check in and offer assistance.

However, things quickly went downhill. The next day, the VPS froze. I tried to access their control panel to check the status and reboot, but couldn't log in because it requires an email verification — which I never received.

I've been in contact with support for two days now, and I still can’t access my account. Unfortunately, support has been unhelpful, and the issue remains unresolved.
