Very poor customer serice
This company rent out villas in Portugal. I used them because they had good reviews on their website, but it's obvious they only publish the good ones. The customer service we received was great until we arrived when it became awful.
We were given the wrong gate code and we weren't told how to use the extendable key which is something we've never come across before. The villa stank of damp and clearly hadn't been used for several months. We were promised the pool heating would be 'comfortable' but it was only 26 degrees centigrade when we arrived, despite me telling them how important the pool temperature was to us. They sent the pool man out on day 2 and he acknowledged that he had only set it to 27 so it was never going to be above 26 and he changed it to 31. It wasn't until day 4 that it reached 28 degrees where it stayed for the rest of the week. Amarantevillas tried to claim 26 was a reasonable heated temperature, despite 28 being a minimum standard for hotels and public pools etc and they refused to refund the cost of the heating of the pool for the first 3 days.
There was insufficient kitchen equipment with only 2 oven trays, one of which was clearly stained. The BBQ had a birds nest in it and so did one of the bathroom windows. Our children's clothes all got damp from being in the wardrobe and we had to dry them out and couldn't use that wardrobe. We put on the heating to try to get rid of some of the damp and were then told we would have to pay €200 a week for heating - they went as far as telling me I was lying about the damp. The owner kept turning off the heating remotely when we were trying to dry out the damp villa and the WiFi kept dropping out but Amarantevillas didn't do anything about that.
I am now having to go to our credit card company due to not receiving the pool heating and the other problems we had.
