Very unfair treatment and distressing experience with Amazon
I bought an expensive pair of Salomon shoes — a brand that provides a two-year warranty for material defects. After less than six months, the inner heels started wearing out badly, something that had never happened before. I contacted Amazon Customer Service, clearly explained the issue, and was told to return the shoes for a refund.
After doing exactly that, I received a warning accusing me of abusing the return policy because the shoes were “used.” How could they expect unused shoes when I reported a material defect after half a year of normal use?
When I tried to explain the situation again, I only wasted my time on the chat. Worst of all, I received that stressful warning email on Sunday morning, my only quiet day after a very difficult week. The way Amazon treats honest, long-term customers is simply unacceptable.
Unfair account deactivation and terrible customer service
I am beyond frustrated with Amazon right now. Out of nowhere, they suspended my account so I can only make digital purchases and they won’t even tell me why. I’ve reached out to customer service multiple times, and every single time I get the same useless responses. Nobody can explain anything or direct me to someone who can actually help. It’s like talking to robots reading from a script.
What makes this even more ridiculous is that this all started because Amazon’s own delivery drivers kept leaving my packages in random spots around my building, where they’d get stolen before I could grab them. I only got refunds because I never received my orders and not because I did anything wrong! Now it feels like Amazon is punishing me for their delivery failures.
I’ve spent so much money on Amazon over the years, and this is how they treat loyal customers? No explanation, no accountability, no real help, just automated replies and dead ends. Absolutely unacceptable. I expected better communication and accountability from a company as large as Amazon. Instead, I’ve been left completely in the dark, with no explanation, no escalation path, and no resolution. Really disappointing experience.
Amazon 3rd Party sellers - "licence to defraud"
1) The seller advertised shirts on the Amazon platform using the terms 'flannel' and 'lumberjack'
These terms are EXCLUSIVELY used to describe shirts of considerable thickness worn in cold countries to combat the cold. The shirts sent by the fraudulent seller simply has the patterning associated with this style of garment but are TOO THIN (they are as thin as a dress shirt) and should never be termed flannel or lumberjack.
The seller should not be using descriptors that are not honoured by the garments they've provided
2) I ordered 3XL size and the size I tried on wasn't even a large size..
The seller must know they are dispatching shirts not the size requested.
So 2 aspects of Fraud regarding my order
But I blame Amazon for putting me at risk in this act of fraud
COMPLAINT:
WHY DOESN'T AMAZON COMPEL ALL THIRD PARTY SELLERS TO BEAR THE COST OF RETURNS - rather than the defrauded customer having to pay to return goods
A simple, major way to keep sellers honest and protect customers would be that Amazon ensure that all returns are paid for by the seller.
When Amazon doesn't do this Amazon paves the way for fraudulent sellers to:
a) Deliberately send substandard, misrepresented goods
b) Pocket the money spent by defrauded customers
c) Pad their bank balance and leverage loans against it in the time it takes the defrauded customer to spend their own money on a postage return
d) Receive back the substandard, misrepresented goods ready to cheat a new customer
e) Potentially delay/deny the refund falsely claiming returns were incomplete/damaged thereby retaining the money fraudulently obtained from customers
I requested via an Amazon Customer Service phone call that the seller provide a prepaid address label so I don't have to pay for postage.
I have rejected the sellers rubbish offer to keep the goods for a 50% refund
Amazon please compel all sellers, including 3rd party sellers to pay for return postage. It's a no brainer...
Unprofessional Customer Service & Mishandled Delivery
I am extremely disappointed with Amazon UK’s handling of my recent orders. On 4 November 2025, 10 items I had ordered for 5 November delivery were delivered without prior notice to my address at Silvine Law, Chancery Lane, Holborn. The packages were left in an unsafe location, as shown in the Royal Mail photo (Tracking ID: FO399753832GB), and I could not locate them when I returned.
I contacted Customer Service twice, first at 22:40 and again at 23:37, each time for over an hour. The first representative was unprofessional, raising their voice and consulting with colleagues in the background, leaving me feeling unsafe. The Team Leader refused to explain the claims policy or allow me to submit a formal complaint properly. Compensation offers were inadequate (£30, £50, then £70), and my request for £250 was dismissed. The second representative was more courteous but still gave unclear information and misled me into thinking my orders would be re-dispatched.
Due to these incidents, I lost over two hours dealing with Customer Service, was left without my essential items—including Nytol Herbal Sleep Aid Tablets—and had only 4.5 hours of sleep, significantly affecting my professional responsibilities. Amazon’s failure to communicate, mishandling of delivery, and obstructive customer service caused stress, frustration, and personal inconvenience.
I hope Amazon takes this complaint seriously and improves its delivery and customer service practices.
don’t subscribe it’s not worth it anymore
the service as got so bad, i’m asking for a refund for 2 month subscription, 3/4 deliveries next day, haven’t arrived, i’ll be calling tomorrow and going mad, it’s a embarrassment if you’re using 3rd parties, make sure they can deliver, it’s making you look bad, i’ll call tomorrow
Had to give one star because “0” wasn’t…
Had to give one star because “0” wasn’t available. Amazon delivery service is absolutely shocking, just had my fifth parcel delivered to an address that doesn’t exist, with a message that it was handed to resident.
Time to bin amazon now!
SHOCKING CARELESS COMPANY
SHOCKING CARELESS COMPANY
Bought a new tv from these clowns after 6 weeks the picture became defective they sent a engineer out TWO weeks ago to tell me it can not be repaired and Amazon will contact me to arrange a date to exchange the defective tv however with no correspondence from Amazon I decided to contact them through their live chat last night and after speaking to 5 different agents I was told I would need to purchase another one then send this back for a refund which I refused I then rang again this morning only to be told they can not exchange it and only refund me 7-10 business after they receive it back I even offered to pay the difference in a upgrade and the Indian lady said she could but do that so I have just purchased another tv from a more reputable company no wonder the guy is a billionaire on the backs of fools like us that buy his products so the moral of the story is DO NOT USE AMAZON because if something goes wrong be prepared to run around for your money back
AMAZON CARE & AMAZON HAUL
Amazon’s customer service in general has gone seriously downhill. Apx 90% of agents, even managers just don’t seem to care about resolving an issue.
They may escalate to back offices who are all separate for different things and they NEVER write back with any communication let alone a resolution.
Amazon Haul offered an introductory discount until 31st Oct, then one hour before midnight, they took it away suddenly with no notice. I spent an hour choosing items and even though I called them twice before midnight, no one could honour it.
Not used Temu but no better than Temu’s customer service I imagine.
I used to really rate Amazon until about a year ago.
I still use Amazon UK (for now) which is why I give two stars.
Knives a No No
Don't try to order an age restricted item such as knives even craft knives as Amazon has a world wide problem with their age verification process which they have not resolved.
Amazon 70 days for a refund
this what i got from amazon re my refund for items they recieved back 10 days ago: Thank you for patiently waiting. I have done checking it here and it shows that the refund for items being returned are automatically being issued by the system. It also shows here that refund may take 60 days for the refund to be automatically issued due to high volume of items being returned to our fulfillment center. Kindly contact us back after 22-December-2025 if you still haven't received any refund by then.
I bought an Amazon pallet from Amazon…
I bought an Amazon pallet from Amazon UK, I was shocked when it arrived . The box was 19 x 30 cm. inside was five items, items I could buy from Poundstretchers in town . It was a complete rip off. Now I have to give Amazon a little credit as they have told me they will refund my money £39.00 although it not happened yet. Apparently they are a third party, but to me as a customer I purchased this from Amazon. Normally I have found Amazon a good company but if they are now ripping off the public, it’s bad
Service is getting worse
I pay for next day delivery from Prime, yet I finding that my orders are starting to be delayed by days. I also find that if you have an issue, like a missing package they are a nightmare to deal with, expecting me to check with the houses or businesses around me, if I’m going to do that it’s easier just to buy it from a shops.
Very poor and in decline
I have been a customer of Amazon UK for over 10 years, there have been good experiences, and some not so good, the most recent was a purchase from a so called 'Third Party seller' I had no idea about these sellers until I purchased an XXL jacket which was more like a medium, so it had to go back I was given return address I paid myself tracked Royal Mail, then a day or two later the seller said if you're not happy keep it and get a 30% refund or send it back, a couple of days later Royal mail said address not found we are returning your package, on complaining to Amazon it's not getting solved, I want my purchase cost and postage both ways back because I lost out. Amazon is not honouring their 48 hour resolution call back and also their customer service helpline varies depending on who you speak to, in my view they all need re-training in knowledge and customer service support. There is only one way a thriving excellent company at the peak of it's performance can go, and that is downwards, and this sums it up.
Amazon's log in farcical
Joined amazon two days back.every log in it said incorrect password..reset..I know it was correct password ,correct spelling, etc.give up .deleted profile( just) Another customer lost ..looking at reviews here ..parcels left in bins.
( I've seen parcels left in bins 3 houses away ,driver photographing from top of bin..lid open ..pointlessly. ) Thanks to Truspilot for reviews about the terrible delivery service..
My wife is diabetic and wears a Libre 2…
My wife is diabetic and wears a Libre 2 sensor on her arm which tells her when her blood suger level drops. It is protected by a patch to prevent it being removed when changing clothes. I ordered some more from Amazon and I received emails from them first saying it was out for despatch and then that it had been delivered. This is untrue - the item has never arrived and I have now sourced it elsewhere. Their actions are a real incentive to buy locally over the counter
Disgusted with Amazon
I ordered a new HP printer, and paid for a new HP printer.
The delivery arrived today. When I opened the box there were TWO Amazon customer returns vouchers inside the box!
I have spent almost 2 hours on the phone with Amazon customer service, and got nowhere. Amazon expect me to wait around for a 10 hour collection window for a courier to come and pick up the parcel. And the "compensation" for my time, £10. Utterly ridiculous.
Amazon don't seem at all concerned that they have breached the Consumer Rights Act 2015 by sending out an item which was clearly not just second, but third hand and representing the item as new.
How can I trust anything I buy from this site?
I’ve completely lost trust in Amazon. While the company claims to value transparency and customer trust, it increasingly feels like the opposite is true.
Tools like Fakespot and ReviewMeta — which helped customers identify fake or manipulated reviews — have shut down, and it’s widely known that Amazon actively complained about these tools. That alone says a lot.
As a customer, I’ve reported obvious fake or misleading reviews many times — including five-star reviews clearly written for completely different products. Nothing was done. At the same time, I’ve seen genuine negative reviews (including my own) quietly removed.
With the technology and resources Amazon has, there’s no excuse for this. The fact that this kind of manipulation is allowed to continue — or even protected — makes me question whether Amazon actually wants customers to make informed choices at all. It seems they don’t really care as long as the cash rolls in. This is one customer that’s voting with their feet!
Amazon gift card rip off
I ordered a gift card as a wedding present 3 days before the wedding.
It was due the next day at a secure locker but never arrived. I ended up buying one at a local supermarket in time for the wedding. I contacted amazon to request a refund however they told me the gift card was lost(there speak for stolen) and they told me to cancel it in my account. I went to do this and it would not allow me to cancel so after phone calls and messaging they told me they will refund me
It's now 2 weeks since that and nothing so I will get my card provider to deal with it. The moral of this story is be very wary of buying cards through them and their customer support is diabolical stay well clear
Utterly terrible tracking and customer services
5 items due to be delivered on 14/10/25 when tracking showed: 'package delayed in transit'. After that it appears Amazon gave up as there was never another update on their system. Communications with Amazon Associates were hamstrung by the scripts they have to follow which meant between the 14th and the 18th none of them would admit the items were not sent / lost/ stolen by goblins or who knows what else! Every time it was a 'guarantee' the items would be delivered the next day or by the 18th; claims were made that the courier (which was Amazon) had been contacted and all was resolved: all of this was palpably untrue but these Associates seem to have been required to peddle these falsehoods rather than admit Amazon stuffed up. I finally got an Associate on the evening of the 18th who did admit the items were likely 'lost' and so my money has been refunded, but now I have to wait 7 working days before Amazon finally relinquishes it. Add to this irritation that almost every item has increased significantly in price since the original order and Amazon don't really deserve even one star for this mess.
Thick useless
I returned an item picked up by Royal mail as they usually do when it is picked up from buyer a refund is issued but sent me an email later on to say they haven’t received the item so I will be charged for it.
Now the same as a lot of the reviews the fun starts I contacted customer services wow what a joke that was my account still shows item not received and I owe them for it that will be taken from my account they agreed it was collected but obviously either Royal Mail has lost it or they have so because the collection was arranged by them they should be finding out where’s it got to not make the customer pay again.
This has been going on since MONDAY 18th AUGUST I will not be giving up this is my money they have which I returned for false information and Chinese cheap rubbish
