I have been a loyal customer of Angel Cars for nearly 10 years and, until now, I have always been very happy with the service I received.
However, my recent experience has been extremely disappointing.
Earlier this week, I booked a car online to take me to Gatwick Airport, South Terminal. I received a confirmation email clearly stating the destination and confirming the price.
Today, I contacted Angel Cars because the booking was not showing on the app, and I also wanted to let them know that there would be two passengers. I was then told that my booking was actually for Gatwick town, rather than Gatwick Airport. I explained that my confirmation email clearly stated “Gatwick Airport – South Terminal”.
I was subsequently told that the booking had been made incorrectly and that, if I wanted to keep the booking to Gatwick Airport, I would have to pay almost double the price I had originally been quoted.
I find this extremely concerning. Had I not contacted the company beforehand, I could have been travelling to the airport at 4am and only discovered the additional charge when I arrived at my destination.
A booking confirmation should provide customers with confidence that the journey and agreed price are correct. It is very worrying to be told afterwards that the price can effectively double due to an error that was not made by the customer.
After nearly 10 years of loyalty, I am very disappointed to have been treated this way. Sadly, this experience has left me feeling that I can no longer trust the booking confirmation or rely on the price I have been quoted.
For this reason, I will no longer be using Angel Cars. It is a great shame, as I have previously had many years of excellent service from them.

Amazing service! Have booked last minute airport runs and they always are accommodating and very punctual and polite

I was originally told that my minicab cost will be £76.90 when I booked online.
But when I got phone call day before travelling in evening and was told it will cost £92.60.
If you want to keep it or cancel last minute.
Also I ordered Mercedes Vito and another car model VW came flithy and stinking.
Be careful before booking any minicabs from this company.

I booked months in advance , on the morning of booking I got a call to say it was cancelled but to re-book was double the price. I agreed to this as needed the ride, only to have my ride cancelled again and 10 mins before pick up.
I was then left a message whilst at a concert to say due to no pre payment for the booking it would be double again the agreed price ( so an original fee or £13 to £46) again we had no time to rearrange anything else.
Positives: They did get us to and from the venue and communication from drivers was good and was charged , the second price not 3rd by driver -so at least that was something.
I think maybe the control centre is at the mercy of the drivers so prob not all on them but the price hiking and cancellations is not ok, we didn’t have enough cash on us if we had had to pay the 3rd price hike.

If you want peace of mind and certain fares-this prob isn’t the company to use

Booked taxi from the airport. As soon as I landed they cancelled and I was stuck with no taxi.

Excellent service. The owner is always around and helping out. Very courteous and polite. The finish is satisfying. Great value for money. All my family go there. Great job guys

Absolute nightmare as they never came on time , nearly lost my flight because of them and been given voucher as apologies and now been told that the vouchers are not valid as they close down ! Very very dodgy

Zero stars. I booked 45 minutes ahead of time. Received a confirmation email but no further communication. I was at the pickup point 5 minutes early, still no communication. I rang the office when they were five minutes late, to be told the job was cancelled, because the driver had arrived, no one was at the pickup point, and no one answered his phone calls. As I was five minutes early and had no missed calls, this was blatantly untrue. That is the last time I will call them.

Appalling service. I booked a cab 24hrs in advance for the 23rd of May at 6.30am that was to take me from my house to the Clementine hospital as l was due to have an operation that morning. I then get a phone call at 6.15am on the 23rd to tell me that my booking was cancelled due to driver bring sick. I was in a state of shock and quite appalled that no replacement driver was available, even though they had known since 5am when the driver called in sick. Despite me telling him that l was going for an operation, he still kept saying that there was nothing they could. If not for a friend that l rang in desparation, l would not have made it for my operation

Woooow… do not use these people. I booked a car the night before I needed it and they just randomly cancelled in the morning. I called up. They weren’t able to book a new car so honestly don’t waste your time.

I cannot believe this company has any customers left. I have tried very patiently to be a somewhat regular customer of this cab firm. On 3 occasions the cab was 30 mins late. Then 3 weeks in a row, my cab was cancelled, the excuse was they didnt have a driver! Even though I had booked the cab hours in advance each time which would have given them plenty of time to find a driver. How can a cab company stay in business and not have any drivers, this boggles the mind. The last time my cab was cancelled, they told me they tried to phone me to let me know about this, but that was not true as there was no missed call or text on my phone. So they just make things up as well. Atrocious company.

DANGEROUS cab company. Hires drivers who allow children to travel in a cab with an unconnected seat back, broken and unfixed. If we had had a crash, the person sat there would be dead. The driver fell asleep MULTIPLE times and despite this being on video, they refused to even compensate us ANY amount and claimed the video was unclear. Currently going through small claims court submissions, my son still wakes up scared from this car journey and hearing us argue with the driver when we got back about how his Daddy could have died in the unconnected seat!! (Seat behind driver) when the seat was pointed out the driver said "I know but I haven't had a chance to get it fixed yet"
The entire way from Gatwick to west London he was veering across the road, other cars beeping him and peering in to see if he was awake or okay, we told him to stop for coffee he declined. If we didn't speak TO him he fell asleep. Utterly terrifying. DO NOT USE. (Head office couldn't care less, genuinely!!!)

I had a ride with a driver called Ahmed Fawad from the airport. He is a great driver,very helpful and respectful..

Pre booked a taxi, driver ended up going west London when I was in north
Cancelled it and nearly made me miss my coach home which is 9 hours. Pre booked it the day before and had to use a different service which is costing nearly £100.

Don’t book. Will waste your time. Ignore the cheaper prices. They make up for it in awful customer service.

I called and was told I can book online. Did this and got a confirmation email with an expected time. Waited 30 mins for the taxi or a call and nothing.
I called up and was told ‘it was cancelled we don’t have a driver’ and ‘it was never booked’?? I told him I didn’t get notified and I’ve just been waiting for this imaginary taxi. He replied ‘well I just told you’ sounding unbothered and rude.
Wasted my time and I needed to get somewhere in time so won’t be using ever again.

They don't even deserve one star. I'd booked a cab from Hampton to Richmond via the app a few days before. On t he day, I checked 5mn before where the driver was, and to my dismay, the trip was showing 'cancelled'. I called and was told that he had broken down and couldn't send anyone else. I queried why I wasn't told, and he said I had been texted. I never received it, and if you cancel at short notice, common courtesy is to phone, not text!! I called the next day about my refund and was told by a very rude man that it had been sent. It appeared in my bank a few days later. Avoid at all costs, not reliable and very rude!

The only thing positive to say is that the driver showed up on time for my transfer to the airport.
Unhelpful, minimal communication which was rude, car filthy and stinks of smoke, unable to open windows, dangerous driving, potentially still drunk from the night before, most bizarre route possible.

I hope I get there in 1 piece… and if I do, I’m never booking with these guys again.
