Been in the automotive industry for 47 years most spent in parts. ( aftermarket and factory)..sons cat stolen..figured ap exhaust was around for about 100 years, assembled in the USA, and have used many times in the past because of mentioned reasons..
Cat went bad just under 2 years and 21k miles. Internals disintegrated, broke down caused rattling and check engine light.. had no choice but to have it replaced.
Reached out 3 times via email to ap to see if anything could be done..no response.
Poor customer service.....quality junk. Do not buy. Spend the extra money and buy a walker, magna flow, or even...yes...a Dorman

Absolutely terrible! There is a reason this company sells their stuff under 4 different names! (AP Emissions, Catco, Durafit, and Eastern Catalytic) I purchased one of their catalytic converters for a Toyota Matrix. Four months after installing it, I started the car on a 6-degree day, and the converter started to rattle but quit one the engine warmed up. About two months latter is started to rattle all the time, so I contact AP Emission via phone. I explained what happened and the individual I was speaking with immediately said the car must have over heated and that is why the converter fail in approximately six months. I explained that the car had never overheated, but it quickly became apparent that AP Emission had no intention of honoring their warranty. So, I had to buy a new one (which is working fine one year later), I almost messed up and purchased one from one of their other companies, before realizing they have multiple names. I'm assuming they do that so when one fails, you're likely to purchase another from them under a different name.
