Cert IV in Accounting /Bookkeeping-
Course material needs updating- contains a lot of info is incorrect or outdated (sometimes by years) (for example, around super,payroll tax or long service leave).
Also things like sometimes they asked you to refer to certain pages, but these were not correct.
Some assessments were far too long and it was frustrating at times as it was not always clear what they wanted as an answer due to the wording of the question, or the financial year listed was incorrect etc, all which took up a lot of time.
One time I had to give an incorrect answer so that it matched the learner guide. I did add a note to my assessment and I believe the assessment has now been updated on their end.
I have worked in bookkeeping for 6 years so I know the material, but the wording of assessments made it so challenging to work out what was required. One time I was penalised for not copying and pasting an answer from the learner guide!

The materials were adequate but sometimes a little out of date and sometimes the English instructions was ambiguous (not clear).
It was great being able to work at your own pace. The 10 working day turnaround for marking assignments was a bit of a pain - if you had to make a round of corrections, it meant 20 days could be wasted just waiting for feedback.

As per our student handbook, our marking timeframes are 10 business days for first submissions and 5 business days for subsequent submissions, although we do always try to mark sooner where possible. Our course materials are also reviewed regularly and updated annually if required.

Good exposure to bookkeeping and accounting foundations
I appreciated learning both Xero and MYOB, along with coverage of BAS and payroll. The provided PDF materials were sufficient, making physical textbooks optional.
The payroll unit could be improved with shorter, more interactive sections and more hands-on software use. It would also benefit from greater insight into real industry practices, such as using multiple tools, Xero integrations, and how AI is shaping accounting workflows.
While the suggested unit order isn’t ideal, the flexibility to complete units in any order is a strong advantage.

I found it really hard to communicate…
I found it really hard to communicate with subject assessors. I chose this provider as it was all online and had assumed there would be out of office hours available but I was unsuccessful in contacting them most of the time. I also found that sometimes things were marked right and then other questions updated and then new questions would be wrong. I found this very confusing

Regarding assessment feedback, as this is competency-based training, all responses must consistently meet the required standard. If a revised answer no longer demonstrates competency, resubmission is required to ensure compliance with regulatory requirements.
