Price too much for actual service and time onsite (15-min at best)

We came on as clients in 2020. I recently attempted to cancel service as I just wasn’t seeing the value. Now paying $152/visit. In review of the service alips, I lesrned that certain pest treatments that were important for my home were no longer included. Shame in me for not reviewing each service slip. Shame in aptive for changing treatment focus witjout discussing it with me, the paying client.

In an effort of customer retention, the phone representative offered a reduced fee of $70 per treatment. I questioned why I was scheduled for a Nov treatment when a service tech was just out in October and we were on a quarterly schedule. This is when we were offered a $70 discount coupon for the scheduled November treatment. Tech arrives and I hear my spigot turn on! When did Aptive start using customer’s water to fill their cannisters?! Further, the tech did not spray window sills, nor did he spray the L shaped foundation along my back patio. I watched. He skipped it all together. I will be cancelling!

The company gave us a free treatment…

The company gave us a free treatment and this time it killed some of the spiders. There was not much done to address the mice besides moving around the existing traps and refilling one outside. The technician also had a misunderstanding with our neighbor about moving his company car so my neighbor could have more room. It seemed really odd that someone who is trying to win more potential clients for his company would not make a little extra effort to try and deescalate a misunderstanding and present a more professional image to potential clients.

Some of the other past technicians they sent out seemed a little inexperienced and did not have the same results that the last one did. They only agreed to send him out because I called in to complain about their treatments being ineffective and was about to cancel the service because the spider infestation in our basement was still too much.

Conscientious workers

Chris was great as well as the other Aptive tech people that have served us the past couple months. They have been knowledgable, pleasant and conscientious people. Unfortunately he didn’t find the source of the dead animal smell (probably a mouse) in our basement in spite of a sincere effort checking around a very crowded basement.

When I signed up

When I signed up, the salesperson promised the first visit would cover the entire house inside, outside, and the full yard. After three visits, they never once sprayed inside. We continued to have insects after the first two visits, and when I reached out to have someone come out sooner, they told me we had to wait until our next scheduled service.

Each time the workers came, they’d sit out front for 15–30 minutes on their phone, then quickly walk around the house taking pictures. It really seemed like they were just proving they showed up instead of actually treating the property. The “whole yard” coverage that was promised never happened they only sprayed near the foundation.

We were still dealing with bugs and wasps that we were paying to get rid of. I ended up spending around $100–$200 of my own money buying chemicals and treating the yard myself just to get results. It’s unbelievable that the salesperson could talk up how great their service was, only for us to get subpar care and no noticeable improvement. Definitely not worth the money or the frustration.

Technicians are responsive

Technicians are courteous and responsive. Communicate well via texting. Treatments are working, especially for earwigs in the basement.

They only care about signing you up.

After they sign you up, the service seems to get progressively worse over time. The first guy who came out, for the initial application, did a good job. We got a different person the second time and they were in and out really quickly. However, we had no issues with the application. We got another new person for the third application. They were in and out quickly too but this person put Niban right on my wife's raspberry bushes, even though she showed them where they were and told them not to go near them. When she called customer service the first person she spoke to listen to her complaint, but then just hung up on her. She called back and the second person she spoke with listened to her all the way through, and promised somebody would call back, but we haven't heard anything so far and its been 2 days.

Ahmad was very good in helping us…

Ahmad was very good in helping us resolve our issues. Very thorough in spraying inside and outside the house. Helped move some furniture as well. Got rid of the wasp nests and also laid down some glue traps in the garage for mice. Excellent service!

I sent a message to cancel my Friday…

I sent a message to cancel my Friday application September 19 and I wasn’t home and they did it anyway and they just did the outside for $119 a month. I think that’s a little bit expensive plus on my woodwork inside the house I’ve complained before that it has turned it to look like water has sat on it for a long time. Not happy with your service.
