You're a winner winner using ARAG
I've used ARAG and DAS as previously known a number of times in the last few years, mostly in consumer disputes about work done on my car, roof etc and they have helped me successfully negotiate meaningful financial and service wins on 3 different occassions having been given terrible service by suppliers

Have had to lodge a formal complaint this morning. Despite being told on the 13/03/2026 that they have accepted my claim and appointed a solicitor. To date, no one from the solicitor firm has contacted me. Phoned twice now 25th March and 3rd April 2026 to be advised they would get someone to contact me as the previous girl dealing with my claim no longer works for the company. I have had to submit my ET1 form late due to this. As I had asked for assistance writing this due to my disability. Absolute joke. Will be following up with the Financial Ombudsman.

Unfortunately a legal policy not worth having!
I have recently encountered two legal issues which I thought I may obtain assistance with via the ARAG policy provided with our home insurance. Separate issues and for me a pointless exercise as their terms and conditions seem to actually exclude everything and anything which you might encounter that you need help with. A very disappointing experience and not one which I would recommend.

I would like to leave very positive feedback for Francesca at ARAG Legal Services for the outstanding help and support she gave me in recovering my money after purchasing a car from Dace Motor Company.
I submitted a rejection within 30 days of purchase as the car was not fit for purpose. The company refused my rejection and told me that I had no legal rights to reject the vehicle, which was extremely stressful and worrying.
Francesca took the time to read through everything carefully and really listened to what I had been through with this company. She acted very quickly and professionally from the start, which immediately made me feel more at ease knowing that she was handling the matter on my behalf.
My husband and I had a holiday booked during this time, and thanks to Francesca taking over the case, we were able to go away and actually relax, knowing we were in safe hands. While we were away, she kept us updated and contacted us with the fantastic news that the process of our refund had begun.
I cannot thank Francesca and ARAG Legal Services enough for their professionalism, efficiency, and reassurance throughout what was a very stressful experience. I would highly recommend their services to anyone needing legal assistance—they truly went above and beyond.
Very poor refused to support legal case…
Very poor refused to support legal case waste of time totally unacceptable . I’ve contacted your customer services didn’t reply . When you request house insurance with legal cover on automatic renewal and Howdens in Chichester are so incompetent they can’t add on your legal cover or lie and say I didn’t choose it because they don’t want to support customers in REAL CRISiS !!!! Please STAY AWAY from Howdens Chichester & ARAG waste of space and time take your premiums then don’t cover you when you really need it !!!!!!

I cannot put into words quite how helpful Grace from Arag UK was for me in a stressful employment issue. Grace is thorough, strategic and very intelligent. Those qualities are combined with humanity, emotional intelligence and calm delivery which made me feel able to proceed with the difficult process ahead with confidence. First class service
The Arag Law advisor that I spoke to on 17/03/2026 provided me with a first-class service regarding my query on will templates. The advisor was extremely knowledgeable on the matter (including detailing the relevant legislation down to the relevant clause), provided me with a clear step-by-step explanation of what I needed to do, and was very personable and friendly.
ARAG Home Insurance is Useless
ARAG Home Insurance was completely useless and unwilling to solve serious electrical and water issues in my flat. First, they simply did not show up on the scheduled date. Then on a second attempt the "engineer" who came with no tools whatsoever did not even have the right telephone number registered in the claim to reach the person in the flat, and called someone else who wasn't there. He was there simply to find excuses not to do any work and gave different information than what was agreed on the phone when opening the claim. The least they could have done to make a fair assessment was to have identified the cause, which they didn't. Complete waste of time, just delaying the timeline to solve serious issues causing a lot of stress. I will not be renewing with them and will proactively recommend that no one should get their Home Emergency Insurance.

Left my house unsafe
Had one of their men out in relation to my electrics. Which he said needed to be split. I asked if this was safe and he replied yes
Afterwards something was nigling was i got another company out to do a full electrical Safety check. Ar which point i was told all my power had to be switched off as having split power was dangerous for a power box of that age. I got back in touch with arag and there response was there was no grounds for my conpaint. Even after i told them making my house dangerous where a young person with a disability stays over isnt ok I wouldn't trust this company was they lie and dont taje account of there dangerous mistakes putting people's lives in danger

Avoid simply insurance
They take ages to assess your claims, they subcontract third party cheap legal firms with cheap quality solicitors with interns with overlwork loads, never reply your emails, their emails stay unopened for weeks

Appreciation for the Comprehensive, Detailed Advice
Thomas called me earlier than expected and provided comprehensive, detailed advice. I now feel confident that I’m in safe hands should I need to escalate my case or seek further guidance.
Beyond ridiculous
Four months on after another vehicle drove into my parked car and wrote not only my car off but also damaged four planters.....
Communication is dire, they do not keep you informed of situation, they have not reimbursed me for the planters. But happily continue to take premiums.
Repeated attempts to get to closure including raising complaints yield nothing, there is always another excuse to wait for two weeks...
Personally I wouldn't use these guys

Very bad service do not cover claims

Very bad service. I have legal expenses on my landlord policies with ARAG. They basically try their best to refuse any claim you may make. I have had a Rent Guarantee policy for many years and I paid premiums. They have refused me cover in the event citing the tenant does not meet affordability criteria. They will decline claim based on their own narrative.
However they were happy to take my premiums for many years.
Now I am at loss and they do not seem to care.

Great initial assessment and legal advice service
My query concerned the use of sinking funds by our freeholder and a threat of potential legal action. ARAG responded promptly and referred me to Elisa Riberio a Paralegal in the Legal Advice team. She provided clear, practical advice based on the information I shared, helped refine my response to the freeholder, and reassured me that our position appeared strong.
Elisai was professional, knowledgeable, and communicated very well. She was proactive and advised submitting a claim form so the policy cover can be formally assessed.
The initial advice has been positive. However, the real value of legal expenses insurance is how claims are assessed and handled. I would rate Elisa 5 stars. My overall rating for ARAG at this stage is 3 stars, pending the coverage decision and any further claims process.
Absolute frustration - don't bother calling!
Absolute frustration. So difficult to communicate with ANYONE - emails not answered for weeks and no calls returned total shambles and I will be contacting my insurance company that recommend these as they are a total waste of time.
