It has been such an honor working with Sebastian and Charlotte for my undergrad architecture college application.

Every session with Charlotte was highly productive; we were able to strategize a strong portfolio theme and leverage my interests to create a cohesive body of work. Charlotte is always prepared to help brainstorm ideas, as she is someone highly knowledgeable in many aspects of architecture. She also provided excellent feedback on my essays by helping me become more specific about my particular interest in architecture.

With their help, I was fortunate to be accepted into many top architecture programs, including Cambridge, Cornell, USC and more.

I can not recommend Architecture Prep enough. Through this experience, I have also grown in my passion for architecture and creativity as an aspiring architect.

Architecture Prep has been extremely helpful! Thanks to Sebastian and Lauren, my tutor, my portfolio showcased my creativity through my different hobbies and interests, and my ability to work with different mediums and I appreciate their help deeply. Working with Architecture Prep (AP) completely transformed my trajectory and made my dream of attending graduate architecture school a reality.

As an Environmental Sciences major from the University of Notre Dame with no formal design background, the prospect of building a competitive architecture portfolio was incredibly daunting. In fact, I had not taken an art course since middle school. The year prior to working with AP, I attempted the application process entirely on my own and was not admitted anywhere. I knew I needed guidance, but the mentorship I received from AP went far beyond standard consulting.

Sebastian, the owner, was deeply invested in my success from day one. He consistently kept in touch with my work and progress. More importantly, he provided vital reassurance whenever I felt insecure about the productivity or direction of my projects, anchoring me throughout a high-stress process.

My tutor, Samantha, was exceptional. Her advice and insightful editing suggestions for both my essays and portfolio development were invaluable. Rather than pushing me toward a generic design mold, she empowered me to create a portfolio that was deeply true to my specific interests, background, and ability level.

Halfway through my curriculum with AP, I attended Columbia GSAPP’s Intro to Architecture program. Because of the architectural foundation and relationship to design that AP had already helped me build, I was able to maximize the value of that intensive program. Even during the summer session, Samantha and Sebastian provided ongoing feedback on my GSAPP studio work, helping me seamlessly integrate it into my final admissions portfolio.

The results speak for themselves. After receiving no admissions offers the year before, my collaboration with AP resulted in acceptances to Columbia GSAPP, Notre Dame, Tulane, USC, UCLA, University of Michigan, The New School, SAIC, and UVA. Furthermore, I received substantive merit aid at the vast majority of these institutions, including Columbia University, where I intend to matriculate.

AP does not just help you build a portfolio; they build your confidence, your critical thinking, and your voice as a future architect. I cannot recommend Sebastian, Samantha, and the AP team highly enough.

AP's markup service helped me transform my barely put-together set of artworks into a coherent portfolio that got me into my top choice, which was the BSc program at the Bartlett. When I first started, I had countless misconceptions of what the portfolio should be, thinking that it should be full of building designs and technical drawings. But with Sebastian's invaluable advice, I was able to pivot to the right direction and make the most of the last couple of months I had left before sending my application. The quality of the feedback is just unmatched by any other markup service I tried, with Sebastian putting in effort to understand your unique strengths to help develop ideas for a distinctive portfolio. The markup is always very detailed, and looks at every aspect of the portfolio from the layout to the themes to the content, and with the markup service, you always have the advantage of taking your time to understand the comments thoroughly. As somebody who didn't take art for my high school subject choices, I felt completely lost before reaching out. But through AP's help, I managed to get into all of my UCAS choices! AP’s BArch Cornell architect grad helped me tremendously to craft a portfolio that got me accepted to my top choice BArch program, UMiami School of Architecture, with a huge merit scholarship. I highly recommend AP as they know what it takes and helped me translate it to my portfolio pieces.

I had an excellent experience with AP. I contacted Sebastian to register for this program very late into my M.Arch application portfolio journey. He speedily matched me with my tutor, Rory, who I spend four months working with. At the time, I had no completed design work, and really lacked the confidence to begin designing. Rory patiently nudged me out of abstraction and into making. Him and Sebastian provided continued guidance and held me accountable throughout my time at AP. They also helped me to navigate the M.Arch application environment. I loved my time as a student in AP! My tutors were Charlotte and Sebastian, Charlotte for the personal statement, portfolio, and the drawing task, and Sebastian for interviews!

My first session with Charlotte included establishing my current artwork, which was only two-dimensional, discussing the themes present within my work, and talking about how I can adapt these ideas into spatial/three-dimensional projects. From then on we set tasks for me to complete between sessions, and reviewed my progress and talked about next steps within the sessions. These were highly helpful as I feel that my creative process and creative development as a whole was fostered and strengthened, as through this I learnt about many different methods on developing projects, and I'll definitely take these lessons into any future work I do! Charlotte took care into understanding my core interests and strengths, even encouraging me to develop a crochet model inspired by decay and growth in nature, as crochet is something I love doing as part of my hobbies, thus helping me create a highly personal, developed, and multi-media portfolio! This culminated in sessions where we complied my portfolios for my universities, where she introduced me to the process of creating portfolios, the importance of formatting, white space, hierarchies in text, how to properly scan in images, etc. Not only was this useful for my portfolio submissions but it will be for my university portfolios! For the drawing task, she showed me examples of successful sketches, introducing me to spatial, expressive work, and how to present concepts of time within my work - I find that my drawing task response was quite successful due to these tips!

For interview prep, Sebastian and I did multiple rounds of presenting my portfolio, so when it came to my interviews I was confident in talking about my work. He pushed me to open up conversations more, as I'd previously give quite closed answers, but when it came to interview, I was able to use the skills he taught me in guiding the conversation to where I wanted it to be! He was very encouraging and made me feel confident about myself in the process too, as interviews were something I have never done before. He got to know me as a person and tailored the interview preparation sessions to me, and also sent great example interviews between sessions, which gave me further clarity on the best ways to conduct interviews.

AP has a wealth of resources, from example successful portfolios, to personal statement and portfolio templates, and the tutors have so so much knowledge and experience! I'm so happy to say that I've received an offer from the Bartlett School of Architecture, UCL, which has been a big big dream of mine. I honestly could not have done it without their help and guidance! I am so grateful for both Charlotte and Sebastian.

I honestly can’t thank Architecture Prep enough for the support I received during my grad school applications. When I first started, I was full of doubt and had no idea if I even stood a chance. I sought portfolio feedback from networking events and online resources. Navigating the graduate application process alone was challenging, but working with Sebastian and his team transformed my journey.

Samantha was a wonderful help. Would 1000% invest in this prep course. I only needed help with my essay and had quite a short amount of time to do so. Sebastian connected me with the right tutor. I was accepted into Columbia, Berkeley, AA… still have more to hear from in the coming weeks.

I am really glad that I met Sebastian and Rory. They were both extremely kind and very human, trying to know me better as a person over the 5 months.

I was initially lost and unsure on how to approach my art portfolio, not knowing how to create "conceptual" and "spatial" pieces. Fortunately, since Rory was on a working trip, I was able to meet him in person to show him my work. Rory was able to analyze my pieces, giving strong feedback and suggestions that lit a fire inside of me to push my limits. He helped transform my portfolio from "okay" to a UCL Bartlett level portfolio, where I just got an offer from.

Sebastian was more in charge of making final suggestions to my personal statement, portfolio, and interview skills. In reviewing my personal statement and interview skills, he made comments and asked questions that helped enhance my own voice, as he strived to bring out the best in me instead of creating some facade that would be fitting for a top school.

All in all, Architecture Prep is one of the best decisions I made in my life and I could not recommend Sebastian and Rory enough to anyone who is looking to apply for a top architecture school!

Very effective coaching, support, and strategic advice!

Our daughter has always been a successful STEM student, and made that (and competitive athletics) her primary focus through high school (we are in the US). Art was what she did in her "free time" to relax and unwind.

Although she had a little formal training, she had never prepared a portfolio, or worked consistently with a mentor to develop her talent, or her body of work.

When she decided late in her junior year to apply to undergraduate architecture programs, we discovered we had to act quickly on an application portfolio.

Sebastian and Paul talked her (and us) through the process, came up with a 3-month plan for her, guided her through the development of a compelling portfolio, and helped her present her work (and passion for architecture) in applications and interviews.

Our daughter was just admitted to her "dream" program.

Architecture Prep was a crucial tool in our daughter's arsenal when applying to architecture school. As a family with no experience in creating portfolios, we very much relied on their invaluable advice - and they were obviously right on target.

Our daughter likely wouldn't have received the offers from top UK schools without the truly top-notch team of Sebastian and Charlotte.

Charlotte's portfolio project suggestions and
specific edits to the portfolio itself took our daughter's portfolio from good to great. Charlotte helped create a consistent theme that was authentic and meaningful to our daughter, and which tied back to the personal statement and, ultimately, linked through to the interview conversation.

Sebastian took quite a lot of time to explain the drawing exam process (and the interview structure) in great detail. Catherine was much better prepared for both the exam and the interview after receiving his advice, and was therefore not flustered when the exam & the interview weren't exactly as she had initially anticipated them.

There's no doubt that Architecture Prep elevated our daughter's portfolio and her performance on both the university entrance exam and the interview.
