Love the Almond Oil from Aromantic

Love the Almond Oil from Aromantic. I add lavender essential oil to it and rub it on after a show.
Smells great, feels great and sorts out my dry skin.
Very happy with Aromantic and will try other products from them in the future.
Delivery was fast too.

Never again !!!

The box was damaged in transit with a gapping big hole a hand could get through this could have easily been tampered with - packaging was poor! The 500ml bottle came in a light clear bottle not the dark bottle as pictured on site, the screw top was white and not sealed, when open there is no dispenser to limit flow hence hard to dispense small amount without mess! I decided to return and had to argue with the lady over the phone to get a free returns label, but when the refund came through they cheekily deducted the original shipping cost, when I called back to question this it was another argument, in the end they send the full refund but won’t he purchasing again! The lady on phone had an attitude and was dismissing me by saying ‘ok’ several times during the chat wanting to get off the phone. Rubbish customer service despite my reasons explained above that warranted my reasons to return the item!

I apologise for the delay in replying. The team member you spoke with has recently been away to get married, and I wanted to speak with her directly before responding to ensure I had all the details correct.

Having reviewed your order and correspondence, I can confirm that the product itself was in perfect condition. It appears the outer box was damaged in transit, something we’re always working to minimise, though it can occasionally happen with parcels regardless of how well we package them.

Our website images show the 100ml bottle, which is representative of the product most customers purchase. Larger sizes, such as the 500ml which you purcased, use a different bottle designed for faster dispensing and refilling, which is why there’s no flow restrictor. Tamper-evident lids for this size and format are extremely difficult to source, but this has never presented an issue for 99.99% of our customers who continue to purchase these bottles without concern.

We don’t currently plan to produce unique images for every size variation, as each one requires detailed 3D rendering work to maintain consistency across our site.

Regarding your refund, the original postage wasn’t refunded initially because the product was not faulty; however, this was later reimbursed as a gesture of goodwill.

I appreciate you taking the time to share your feedback, and I’ll make sure it’s reviewed internally.

No delivery estimate and cannot reach anyone

Given the uncertainty around delivery and the difficulty in reaching support, I will need to explore alternative suppliers who can provide more reliable shipping and clearer communication.

Here's a detailed breakdown of why:

I recently placed my first order with Aromantic, and unfortunately the experience so far has been quite challenging.

From what I can see, when everything runs smoothly, customers seem happy with the products—which is encouraging. However, my order was placed 5 days ago (including a weekend), and I haven’t received any updates on dispatch or delivery timelines.

I tried to contact customer service by phone. On my first call I was directed to voicemail, but after three attempts it was clear the system wasn’t recording. I then tried again without leaving a voicemail, but after waiting over 5 minutes on a paid line, I had to hang up.

It would be really helpful to have a clear estimated dispatch and delivery timeframe, as well as a reliable way to reach someone directly—particularly for customers who may want to use Aromantic as a regular supplier for their business. I’m hoping this is just an isolated issue, but my initial experience hasn’t been positive.

Since then, I’ve been in touch via email, but things haven’t improved. My order still hasn’t been dispatched (though technically this is still within the advertised timeframe). However, I’ve since learned that delivery will take an additional 5 days after dispatch. This seems inconsistent with the information on the website (in the deliveries section), which only references 24- and 48-hour services starting at £4.50 (the option I selected). Based on that, I expected delivery within 48 hours of dispatch, or a maximum of 5 working days from the order date—not potentially 8 days from placing the order.

I raised this with customer service and requested to clarify over the phone, but this wasn’t acknowledged. I think it would make a big difference if the website reflected the actual delivery times more clearly, and if customer service were more accessible when clarification is needed.

Final update: I am changing this rating because at least I was provided a refund when asked.

Update below - as a response to the reply received from the managing director.

Hi Benjamin, the 5 day time frame is not provided on the deliveries page - which I explained in my email. The only reference to a 5 day timeframe is for international shipping. In addition, I requested a call back (as I suspected there was an error with your phone service) and this was ignored in all communications. So I'm afraid your reply below does not reflect the scenario in question, though I do appreciate the response and the refund I received.

I sincerely apologise that you were unable to reach us by phone, I know how frustrating that can be and would like to assure you that this is not a usual occurrence.
We did have a technical issue with our lines this morning that we were not immediately aware of however we managed to resolve the problem by late morning. I can see that your subsequent email correspondence has been responded to.

Regarding dispatch and shipping timeframes, I am sorry if this seemed unclear. We do try to be as transparent as possible on the delivery page, the individual product pages and the checkout page, where all available shipping options will have an estimated dispatch and delivery timeframe.

The Royal Mail tracked 48/2nd class service by their own definition has a delivery aim of 2-3 days, this is an aim and not a guarantee. We note this service at checkout as ‘’ Will be shipped within 1 to 3 working days. Delivered usually within 2 to 5 days from point of shipping.’’ The reason we state up to 5 days is simply to allow for any unforeseen issues or delays once the parcel has left us. Tracked 48 can take up to 5 days once it leaves us and that’s us being transparent, we do not want to over promise as that leads to frustration. Having said that in the vast majority of cases it’s delivered within the 2-3 days time frame but on the odd occasions that Royal Mail have let us down, customers have rightly raised that with us so we then increased the days to 5 to cover ourselves.

I hope this provides some clarification and again I am very sorry that your first experience with shopping with us has not been a more positive one.

Selective reviews

I placed an order and the next day I was sent a standard email expressing how much my custom means, asking for feedback on how they can improve. I provided feedback and requested a response, as I had taken the time to do this. As expected, I have had nothing, apart from an automated email, advising I would hear back within 48 hours.

I advised that they were my main choice for skincare products, but their customer service is unhelpful and their website needed photos updated of their products to comply with the Consumer Rights Act - goods must be as described.

I had returned some goods on a previous order, costing over £113, and was asked to pay the postage to return, but when challenged with the legal aspect, I was sent a free return label. This should have been offered automatically.

The glass measuring beakers are not the Simax brand and not all of the low form shape shown. They are a cheaper poor quality brand and the smaller one is cylindrical.

The aloe vera powder does not come in a tub any longer, but in a plastic pouch. This product must have as little exposure to air as possible, as it goes rock hard and becomes unusable. Storage in a bag is fiddly to use, and decanting, both attract moisture. It must cost a matter of pence to sell it in a tub.

There is no mention of this on their website, but I was informed I could buy the tubs separately. These cost an astonishing £8.51 for 10, plus I would have to pay postage on top. You can get 50 for £7 on Amazon.

There is a huge markup on skin products and taking care of your customers should be priority if you want to keep them.

As the misdescription still remains on their website, I added reviews to the products, but they have not been published.

Thank you for your feedback and for giving us the chance to respond. I’m very sorry that your recent experiences have not met expectations. I was on annual leave over the school holidays, which meant I wasn’t on hand to take care of this earlier, and I apologise for the delay in responding.

On the specific points you’ve raised:

Aloe Vera Powder: We had moved to pouches due to repeated breakages with tubs and excess packaging, but we do recognise your concerns about storage. We’ve now made the decision to return to tubs, which will also bring the website imagery back in line with what customers receive. While we haven’t previously had complaints about the imagery not matching the packaging, we understand the importance of accuracy and will aim to be better about keeping this up to date going forward.

Glass Beakers: We will be updating the product listing to make it clear that the image may not always reflect what is supplied. We source the correct size of beaker from whichever supplier has stock available at the time, so while the brand cannot be guaranteed, the size and function will always be as ordered.

Returns: You are absolutely right that misdescribed goods should not incur return costs. Going forward, we’ll make it easier to obtain a returns label when it’s needed. We don’t include return labels automatically in parcels, as over 99% of our orders are not returned, and this avoids unnecessary environmental impact.

On your point about product reviews, these go through a review process before being published. This allows us to reach out and resolve issues first — whether that relates to product concerns, as in this case, or order problems that have nothing to do with product quality, such as parcels being delayed or lost by delivery partners like Royal Mail. It also helps us filter out reviews that are not relevant to the product or service, such as customers leaving questions in the review section or, in some cases, giving a glowing written review but accidentally rating it one star. Once corrective action has been taken, or irrelevant cases are addressed, reviews are then published so they reflect the true state of the product and service.

We value your loyalty and the fact that you prefer sourcing your skincare ingredients from us. Your feedback is helping us improve, and I hope these steps will help rebuild your confidence in us.

not the same as it used to be

My first order of fine powder was perfect, it was like powder so so fine. 2 years later a new order exactly the same product but you can feel the grain in it so for what I need it for, it is no good. I feel I wasted £70. Aromantic stated they can't guarantee there won't be any batch variation. Maybe there is a reason it varied but have not been able to find out why it is not such a good quality as before so very disappointed in the product this time.
