Misleading description and returns policy - very poor quality
The dress I received is of exceptionally poor quality and bears little resemblance to the garment advertised on the website. The material was inferior, with poor stitching, inadequate finishing and an overall lack of quality.
The website presents Ashbourne London as a London fashion retailer, actively targeting UK customers. They advertise free UK delivery, refer to thousands of customers across the UK and promote a 30-day hassle-free returns policy.
At no point in the purchasing process was it made sufficiently clear to me that, should I need to return an unsatisfactory product, I would be required to send it to Guangdong, China, at my own expense.
I find it wholly unreasonable that a UK customer purchasing from a retailer presenting itself as Ashbourne London should subsequently discover that returns have to be made internationally. This means I have to pay potentially substantial postage costs and additional customs charges.
The website's presentation creates an entirely different impression from the reality of the operation. Their company information does not provide a UK business address or identify the legal entity responsible for the sale.
Their 30-day money-back guarantee and the promise of effortless returns are misleading if customers are subsequently faced with disproportionate international return costs, particularly when the goods supplied are not as described.
I requested a full refund. They offered a partial refund to avoid having to return the dress, which was unacceptable. I wanted to return the dress because it was not as described and not because I changed my mind or didn't like it.
