This is my experience with AW. First, I never heard of them and I used a realtor (would not recomment him) so he found the property. I would reccomend AW to a friend as a first time homeowner, but I would let them know that you are just a number and that there are really no negotiations with the company at all. The home is built nicely, but the process of dealing with them is not the best. Who knows, it could have also been the realtor when I shut down his advances towards me - I kind of got the cold shoulder from him and definitely when I got towards the closing table, he was absent. But my thought is a realtor should have my back and be professional and negotiate, not sending me messages that his wife is out of town or texting me late at night trying to find out where I am. But once he back out of the way and I had to speak for myself, my experience with this home builder has been somewhere in the middle. The home isn't terrible, but it hasn't been exceptional either. There have been a few issues that required attention after moving in, and while some were addressed, the overall process wasn't as smooth as I had hoped. There were little things that I wanted changed and was told no. Then there were things I didn't want from Ashton Woods, and I had no choice but to take them. As a buyer you get no say. I am appreciative that even though the house was broken into and the stove was stolen, they decided to fix everything. I am appreciative of the fact that AW handled the possible plumbing issue I may have had and that they did epoxy in the garage, however the job was not completed. There was no finished coating. And when I asked about this "so-called epoxy" company they hired coming back and completing the task, they sent their supervisor to come look at it and he told me oh, you must be rich, so who is paying for it then. I told him no one because the job wasn't complete. I then waited a week, emailed AW about it, and it fell on deaf ears. Once again, bad communication. To me, the fact that AW calls themselves a "luxury builder" is beyond me. I understand that that (epoxy) is not something AW offers or really any builder, but for a builder to call themselves "luxury" one would think they would still want their customer/client to expect/have a completed job so that it shows in their (AW) work and then when their customer gets surveys they can brag a little bit that the builder not only turned a bad situation in to a good situation BUT ALSO they made sure the job was done right. Maybe even start with a company that actuall does epoxy, not the company that sends their supervisor and he tells me he's never seen epoxy but only 3 times in his life - no wonder it was a shotty job and not complete. I understand this home, like most, are built so fast and thrown together so there are also little things like the blinds in this house not being centered and there are two totally different blinds on some windows, etc... But as the question stands, would I recommend - yes, as a first time homeowner, but be prepared.

A Deeply Disappointing Experience at Eastlyn Crossing by Ashton Woods, Flowery Branch, GA

If you’re considering buying a home in Eastlyn Crossing in Flowery Branch, GA, I strongly urge you to think twice. What should have been a peaceful, hardworking community has turned into a place where the priorities feel completely upside down.

This is a working‑class neighborhood—people here earn their living through real jobs, real hours, and real effort. Yet the HOA, Access Management Group, backed by Ashton Woods- has a vision of “community standards,” that has decided a homeowner’s work truck with a company logo is somehow an eyesore worthy of towing and Heather Martin from Access Management group has made multiple threats of towing the car straight out of my driveway. This is the same truck that gets me to and from work every day, but apparently that’s unacceptable.

Meanwhile, my next‑door neighbors—police officers—have two patrol cars parked in their driveway daily, and that’s perfectly fine. So let me get this straight: official government vehicles are acceptable, but a regular resident’s work vehicle is not? The double standard is astonishing.

And this is happening in a community where homes cost around over $500,000. Half a million dollars to be treated like a problem for simply having a job that requires a logo on a truck. It’s shameful.

What makes this even more absurd is what is allowed. The neighborhood is filling up with rental properties, and the issues coming from those homes are far more disruptive than any work truck could ever be. One renter has already been arrested for domestic violence. Another home is packed with multiple families—over a dozen people living under one roof. But somehow, my work vehicle is the threat to “community appearance.”

It’s hard to understand how Ashton Woods and the HOA Access Management Group can look at these situations and decide that the real problem is a truck in a driveway.

Eastlyn Crossing had potential, but the priorities here are completely misplaced. Instead of supporting the people who actually bought into this community, the rules are being enforced in ways that feel arbitrary, unfair, and disconnected from reality.

If you’re thinking about buying here, be prepared: the house may be nice, but the experience of living here may be anything but.
