The ash waste is rubbish they Gona charge more than£200 pound and the didn't take the bin we need new provider soon

My bin collection was missed, which was frustrating. The initial customer service responses were slow to address the core issue and focused more on explaining the company’s process than solving the problem. I had to follow up multiple times to get a clear resolution plan.

However, once escalated, the situation was handled fairly. Customer Services (Janine) and her manager worked to find a solution: they scheduled a catch-up collection and agreed to waive any excess charges caused by the delay. They also issued a credit for the missed collection once it was confirmed no excess weight was present.

While the start was frustrating, the matter was eventually resolved professionally. My advice to others would be to be clear and persistent if your service is missed. To Ash Waste Services: thank you for eventually making things right—improving first-response clarity would make a big difference.

They use aggressive 'Personal Liability' clauses and 'Auto-Renewal' traps to lock you in for years. Even after I sent notice through their app and email, they forced a 3-year renewal because I didn't use registered mail. ( I was advised by someone else to give them notice but they didn't know about the small print i.e 3 months notice via registered post) I signed the contract on the reps iPad ( witnessed) as the pin he provided wasn't working. I couldn't see the T&C's only where to sign. I was at no point advised that I'd end up in a situation where I would be personally liable for a debt basically for 3 years!. I literally have only just seen the contract after being with them for a year. It wasn't sent it before signing nor did I have the opportunity to read it prior signing. As it was signed on our premises via the reps iPad, I wasn't given a copy as I would have got out straight away in the cooling period. The business consists of myself and my husband both of us are almost 60 years old. The thought of having this financial commitment is causing me such distress I'm not sleeping - it's definitely had an impact on my mental health as I know I now have to take them to court. It's so stressful.
They offer poor service, miss collections, and hike prices knowing you can’t easily leave. They value fine print over customer service and integrity. Avoid at all costs.". I have provided my details i.e Name. Account number. Telephone number. Email. I have emailed you on numerous occasions.

Please do not use if you don't want to be stressed. They take money out of bank when not ment to, charge excess weight and when you try to resolve with staff they try to intimidate. Never missed any payments been with them along time but have nothing but trouble and they won't let you leave.

Ellie went above and beyond to ensure we were looked after during a mix up with our collections. The pressures of running a place is enough without having to worry about utilitlites- thanks ash waste

Great customer service received from James Samuel and Ellie Hayes. I needed to return some bins, and they both went above and beyond to resolve the issue within just a few days. Their professionalism, quick communication, and willingness to help made the whole process stress-free.

Absolutley hopeless, rubbish customer service and service in general to be honest.. They never collect on time, at the height of summer we had maggots crawling from our bins. They have ridiculous t's and c's that throw you onto a rolling contract. I'm currently in touch with trading standards and the citizens advice to escape them . AVOID at all costs.

Can't re-iterate enough the other negative reviews about this company.
Read the small print, they justify themselves to miss collections when they feel like it, then basically ask you if it's your own fault.
We tried to work with them and put bins in a more suitable location (not required to in our contract) but they still miss collections. Obviously never their fault.
Noticed they can at their discretion cancel the contract if it's not working for both parties - which it isn't - but that means charging you full whack up to contract end date anyway.
Avoid them at all costs!

Excellent service from Dawn at Ash Waste. Everything was handled quickly and efficiently, with great communication throughout. Really appreciated how fast everything was actioned — couldn’t ask for better service!

Mis sold in the first place, no notification of automatic renewel of contract, short window for cancellation at end of contract so don't miss it! Discovered this when I went to cancel 3 years after taking the 3 year contract out as I needed to cancel due to giving up the lease on an office and didn't need a bin anymore. Wouldn't let me cancel and was referred to the T&C's saying they didn't need to inform me of automatic renewel. The cancellation procedure is definitely designed to make it difficult, in the hope you miss it. Absolutely appaulling, especially for small businesses.
Their charges start of cheap then increase. When they do collect they leave the bin in any old place, not respectful at all in attempting to place it back where they found it. Find another waste disposal company!

Mis sold a contract, claim to say they are helping us by telling us to go back to our previous supplier.

9 months we were sold a contract by this company to take our waste and now they can’t !

I am writing this review to highlight the absolutely pathetic service provided by **Ash Waste Collection**. They have repeatedly failed to collect our bin as per the agreed schedule, causing significant inconvenience, hygiene issues, and unnecessary stress. This is a clear breach of contract, as their primary responsibility is timely waste collection — something they consistently fail to deliver.

Despite their repeated failures, there has been **no compensation** whatsoever. Instead of addressing their shortcomings, their response has been dismissive and unprofessional. When we raised the issue and mentioned cancelling the contract due to their ongoing failure, we were shockingly told that cancellation is not allowed and that we would face legal consequences and have to pay a cancellation fee. This is completely unacceptable — **why should customers be penalized when the company is the one failing to provide the service?**

Even more absurd is their justification that they are “not charging us for the days they don’t collect.” That is not a favour — that is the bare minimum. They are essentially admitting they are failing to deliver, yet offering no meaningful remedy or accountability. In fact, **they should be compensating customers**, not hiding behind ridiculous terms to trap people in poor service contracts.

This entire experience has been mentally exhausting and extremely inconvenient. Their customer service is unhelpful, their operations unreliable, and their policies unfair.

I **strongly warn others not to fall into the trap** of signing up with Ash Waste Collection. They are unprofessional, unreliable, and lack basic accountability. Save yourself the stress and look elsewhere — this company is a complete disaster!!

I have found all the Customer Service and Accounts people I have spoken to at Ash very helpful, supportive and informative. They follow the issue through to resolution and keep you informed at every stage, they also reply in a timely manner which is fantastic.
