I highly recommend counselling training with Astranti

Be cautious – withdrew early, now in a refund and fee dispute.

Be cautious before signing up. I had read some negative reviews and assumed they were exaggerated. In hindsight, I can see why people may feel stressed or disappointed, and the company’s public responses to negative reviews did not match my experience once enrolled. As of 1 February 2026, their Trustpilot profile showed 56 reviews, with 20% rated 1-star.

I paid £500 on 16 December 2025 and the course commenced on Tuesday 6 January 2026. In week two (within 14 days of the course starting) I raised concerns in writing about admin/process and how requirements were being communicated, and I requested a refund.

The course and delivery did not match what I understood had been communicated to me before signing up. The tutor was conveying instructions that appeared to conflict with the course manual, which we had spent hours reading before the commencement of the class. This caused serious confusion, and this was on top of technical issues with the course manual and the instructions.

On 15 January 2026 I had a meeting with a member of staff where changing the tutor was discussed and I was told that was not an option; alternatively, a refund was discussed as an option. Later the same day I received an email stating no refund would be provided and that I remained liable for the full course fee under the contract. I do not believe that email reflected the substance of the discussion.

On 19 January 2026 I had a further meeting with another staff member. The tone was calm and I believed we were discussing a practical way forward. I asked what support and temporary adjustments could be offered as a gesture of goodwill and was told this would be discussed with a manager and they would get back to me. Shortly afterwards, I received written communications escalating the situation, including allegations that my communications were “hostile towards staff” and warnings about termination, while asserting I remained liable for the full course fee. I do not accept that characterisation.

In my view, the focus shifted from resolving the issues to framing my communications as a conduct problem.

Withdrawing did not feel like a choice; it felt necessary. I have retained copies of the relevant emails and all correspondence with both the tutor and the admin team.

I may update this review in due course.

Astranti Connect Level 3

My experience with Astranti Connect was mired, as there were quite a few administrative issues at the beginning of the course that made completing my level 3 quite difficult. However, due to the amazing teaching of Shaz Siraj, I had an overall positive experience from the qualification. I could not recommend Shaz more, as she made the lessons engaging and I felt like I took so much away from the course, even with its fast-track pace.

Keeps Getting Better and Better

I have done an Intensive Level 2 and 3 with Astranti and have now begun the Residential Level 4. The course materials and Tutors have been fantastic and the location, setting, and comfort of the Residential are top quality. I was very anxious coming into Level 4 and the very knowledgeable, supportive, and passionate about Counselling Tutors have very much put me at ease - I look forward to the next two years with Astranti.

This is not like other CPCAB training - lack of professionalism, contact and lies.

For a company that train ethical values their conduct and support is appalling. I was allowed to defer a year due to a life event and being diagnosed with a disability that I could not predict and was grateful of this support. Although there was no actual support offered just a deferral. I started again and their IT was never set up correctly. I informed my tutor and emailed several times. I derogatory comment was made about me which I raised as upsetting. I sent numerous emails advising I was having to complete work on paper and purchased new IT equipment as well as booking a year of specialist childcare at a cost to complete the course. Completely unpredictably after I had enrolled my son became critically ill, I never missed a session but did have technical issues ongoing at their end which I contacted them weekly about. I was told to not engage as much in class but then withdrawn for not catching up. After they had advised me to purchase new IT equipment for the course, I had booked specialist childcare. My tutor did not respond to emails where I asked if I could catch up and I have completed work on my system where I could. They were aware I was travelling from hospital to attend class and arranging care there. It was fine for them to delay the start of my course, and fine for substitute teacher to be confirmed the week before. The reason they withdrew me was IT issues that I contact them about but had no response, not updating a workbook they didn’t give me access to and the fact that my tutor did not respond. I had nothing but positive feedback from peers and they were aware of how things were at home. Other than being 10 mins late due to traffic I had 100% attendance and had previously been warned about engaging too much. They were aware I had completed the work but couldn’t upload it as I didn’t have access. But didn’t respond. I have paid a deposit and monthly instalments, childcare and purchased new IT equipment. They have advised me there have been numerous extensive chats with me but there hasn’t been one. They haven’t responded to emails or promised callbacks.

We want every student to have the best possible chance to succeed, and this requires clear policies and procedures for support, guidance, and course requirements. As with all of our courses, it is the student's responsibility to meet the minimum requirements, including the CPCAB-mandated attendance and submission of all coursework on time. All deadlines and expectations are set out clearly from the start of the course and within your assessment record.

We understand that each student can have challenging and unexpected situations occur, and we always strive to be supportive and work with students based on their specific circumstances. In your specific case, you were granted significant leniency.

1. After your first attempt, we permitted you to defer your course for an whole year due to the personal circumstances you cited, giving you time and space to successfully recommence your studies.

2. Regrettably, on your second attempt, you again experienced personal circumstances. Your tutor worked with you, providing an extension for your work and discussing their concerns about you meeting the course expectations.

3. Sadly, despite the one-year deferral, further deadline extension, and additional support, you repeatedly failed to meet the minimum requirements necessary to pass the course, and were therefore unable to complete it.

Regarding your other claims, our records do not align with your perspective:

We checked multiple times to ensure you had access to the essential documents (workbook and assignment guide) and can confirm you do have the correct access to these.

For an online course, it is the responsibility of the student to have a suitable device and a stable Wi-Fi connection. We do not advise students to invest in additional equipment beyond these basic requirements.

Our phone log shows no record of any calls from the number you provided since 2024. In the event we miss a call, we return this within 24 hours and I can confirm that all missed call are fully up to date. In relation to your emails - both our support team and your tutor have been in regular email contact with you.

While we are disappointed that we couldn't help you successfully complete the course this time, we stand by the support and allowances we provided and wish you all the best for the future.

Done my lvl 2 counselling skills with…

Done my lvl 2 counselling skills with Astranti. After a very successful lvl 2 course, I decided to take my lvl 3 counselling studies with them. Unfortunelty after the first 3 sessions during the lvl 3 I became unwell. I was worried I may lose my deposit, but Astranti said I could move onto the lvl 3 at a later date during next year. I think this is a great company, and they are very caring and understanding tutors and overall staff members.

Excellent Customer Service!

If you want to have an excellent experience for student or customer support, please don't hesitate to contact Astranti Connect. I had the most wonderful experience with them since I arrived in the UK in 2021, I can promise that their counselling team and customer support team are the best, they put customer's need in front and in the center, their swift response for phone call and email communication is just remarkable!!!

They supported me during my difficult time, everyone was supporting me with immediate response and I am really grateful for all of them and how supportive they are.

Additionally, you can tell from their website design, personally I was a designer previously and I can tell they are well-organised and professional training provider, as they put effort into marketing and customer service.

Deeply Unprofessional Experience — Avoid for Counselling Training

I had a very disappointing and frustrating experience with Astranti Connect regarding their Level 2 & 3 Graduate Fast-Track Counselling Course. From the start, communication was poor. My online application was apparently "lost in the system", which delayed everything. Then, just one month before the course was due to begin, a £250 deposit was taken, despite no formal clarity around confirmation of the start date.

Worse still, the course was postponed (from July 2025 to an unspecified date in January 2026) without anyone informing me. I had to chase them repeatedly to find out what was going on, only to be promised a full explanation by email, which never arrived. I was then left in the dark, trying to get my deposit back, with zero proactive communication.

After more chasing, I was eventually asked to send sensitive bank details via unsecure email (a major red flag), then again heard nothing for a week. I only received my refund after sending a formal complaint and threatening legal action, still with no apology or proper explanation as to what happened.

I had planned to continue with Astranti for the CPCAB Level 4 Diploma, but this experience has completely shaken my trust in their integrity. For a company offering professional counselling qualifications, this level of disorganisation and disregard for students is unacceptable.

Avoid this provider if you’re looking for a reliable, transparent, or professional route into counselling training.

Thank you very much for taking the time to share your experience. We are really sorry that the application process for your course did not feel as smooth or supportive as it should have been.

Normally applications are reviewed within 2 to 5 days. In your case, part of your application relating to prior qualifications needed additional consideration, which meant it had to be referred for senior review. Sadly this caused a delay, and we are sorry you were left waiting longer than expected. We have since made changes to reduce the chance of this happening again.

After your interview, successful applicants are invited to pay a deposit and sign their enrolment form to secure their place. You chose to do this, and we confirmed receipt of your £250 deposit and signed form. A full timetable for the course was available on our website from March 2025, at the same time you submitted your application, and included all planned session dates and times.

We work hard to avoid cancelling courses as we know how disruptive this can be. Unfortunately, where the minimum number of students is not reached, we sometimes have no choice but to cancel or postpone. We are very sorry for the short notice on this occasion and for the difficulty it caused you. We continue to look for ways to improve our communication and know that in this instance it fell short. We always aim to be transparent with the number of students currently on our courses and are always happy to confirm current levels by phone, live chat or email.

When a course cannot go ahead, students can either continue with the revised schedule or request a full refund of their deposit. When you asked for a refund, we acknowledged this within 1 working day and requested your bank details to allow payment to be made. This was passed to our finance team and completed within 4 working days.

We're sorry to hear of your hesitation about sharing your bank details by email. To reassure you, this information is only ever used for refunds, but if it is easier in the future we are always glad to take details over the phone.

We have previously been in touch with you in relation to your concerns and have offered to meet directly with you to address any other questions or concerns that you had - do let us know if you'd like to do this.

Once again, we're really sorry to hear that you didn't have a positive experience on this occasion. Since you got in touch with us, we've made several changes which will be in place for the future and thank you for providing the feedback that has highlighted certain areas for improvement.

My experience with Astranti Connect . . .

My experience with Astranti Connect has been first class. From the initial communication, to the online interview and the follow up course materials, it has been a very pleasurable experience. The level of professionalism and course knowledge has been second to none and gives me a feeling of total confidence in the quality and delivery of online courses. Terrible - would not recommend.

I have since updated this review in response to the reply from Astranti (see comments in []) The original review is below this.

[The reply from Anna of Astranti ignores the fact that my main complaint was not about the decision itself, but rather how they processed the application. The specific timeline is as followed. I've set this out, to demonstrate the lack of communication that followed my application, which was apparently due to a number of 'reviews'. I feel that the response also misrepresents the application process.
* I applied for a Level 3 course on April 29th; the first response I received from Astranti was on 9th May, more than a week after I submitted the application.
* However, I had rung Astranti on May 7th, and had been told that the course had already begun and therefore my application would not be considered for this intake.
* Apparently between my application (April 29th) and (May 9th) there were two 'reviews' of my application, and then I was asked on the 9th May (again my first written contact regards to my application) how many guided learning hours I had done previously. The exact email was as followed: "I'm getting in touch regarding your recent application form. Could you please confirm the exact number of guided learning hours you previously completed at Level 2? Once we receive this information, we’ll be able to process your application as soon as possible." This was as I have mentioned almost a week after my application, and at this stage I had already been told the course had started and they were not taking further students.
* Significantly, throughout the 7 working days that Astranti had my application it was only on the last possible day that they decided to get in touch with me. Even though they had had my contact details since April 29th and could certainly have contacted me about any details if any specific question was holding up my application/or indeed causing yet another 'review'.
* With relation to the question about guided learning hours, I provided a very low estimate mainly because I was not told at any point that this would make or break the application decision.
* Finally, when the decision was made it came after office hours, and was neither helpful or professional.
* I believe that the reply Anna has given from Astranti ignores the failings in terms of the application process, both in terms of the woeful lack of communication, and the lack of clarity. Anna also apologies for my disappointment at the outcome, rather than what I was mainly criticising - the application process itself.
*If this is how they process applications, I wouldn't like to think what the actual teaching is like at Astranti; who knows, but certainly I am glad that I have managed to avoid finding out.]

The whole process of applying for a counselling course was terrible. Having sent in an application within the course deadline, I heard nothing for over a week. Then I had a reply, but it was clear they had not read my application, as they asked me questions that I had already responded to. Then once I had given that information they declared that I did not have the required qualifications for a Level 3 Counselling course, even though this was not true; I had a NCFE accredited Level 2 certificate after having completed a year-long course. The way they responded to me was neither professional or polite; a person called Faith left me an email at 17.07 on a Friday afternoon which ignored my application and falsely said I did not have the necessary qualifications. All in all a complete waste of my time, but also a disgraceful way to communicate with someone trying to enrol on a course. If this is how they treat people applying, imagine how they treat people taking the course!

Thank you for taking the time to share your thoughts on our application process. We really appreciate you reaching out, and I’m sorry to hear that you were disappointed with the outcome of your application.

As we mentioned in messages directly to you, our Level 3 course is regulated by CPCAB, which sets clear minimum entry requirements for all applicants. This helps ensure that the course is the right fit and level for each student.
In most cases, applicants who have completed a CPCAB Level 2 qualification are eligible to progress to Level 3. If the Level 2 qualification was completed with a different awarding body, we’re required to check that it matches CPCAB’s standards, part of this is checking that it includes at least 90 guided learning hours (GLH).

When we reviewed your application, we noticed that your Level 2 qualification wasn’t with CPCAB. When we went to verify your specific qualification, the question asking for the specific number of guided learning hours wasn’t completed with these hours, which unfortunately delayed the processing of your application for several days as it was flagged for further review.

Following a further review, to clarify this, we got in touch via email to ask for more information. At this stage you provided an estimate of your GLHs, but unfortunately, the course you completed included around half of the required 90 GLH to join Level 3 with us.

Once we had that detail from you, we got back to you the same day to explain that your current qualification didn’t meet CPCAB’s entry requirements for Level 3. We also provided information about the CPCAB Level 2 course that would meet the criteria and help you progress in the future.

Thank you again for your interest and for sharing your feedback - it really matters to us as we’re always looking for ways to improve our processes. Wonderful experience with Astranti Connect!

I'm having a wonderful experience with Astranti Connect! I did a Level 2 course with them last year, and was taught by Lindsey, who was a fantastic tutor. The enquiries team were also very responsive and helpful whenever I emailed them questions about the wider course. I unhesitatingly enrolled for a Level 3 course with Astranti this year, and so far I'm having a lovely experience. The tutor Marion is very knowledgeable and experienced, and teaches in a warm yet thought-provoking manner. I highly recommend Astranti Connect!

Great to do the course with Astranti

I completed my Level 2 in Counselling and Psychotherapy with Astranti and will be finishing Level 3 in May. I have truly enjoyed the entire journey. The progression from Level 2 to Level 3 has been incredible — the deeper content and more in-depth discussions have really helped me grow, both personally and professionally. I’ve learned so much, not only from the course itself but also from my peers.

A special mention goes to my tutor, Selina, who has been outstanding—supportive, compassionate, and knowledgeable. She helped each one of us build confidence and develop key counselling skills in a safe, encouraging environment.

If I decide to pursue Level 4, there’s no doubt I will be choosing Astranti again.

My experience of the Level 4 Dip course…

My experience of the Level 4 Dip course in counselling, run by Astranti, has been a very positive one. The venue is great and the tutors are very different from each other making it a very enjoyable experience. There is a good depth to the content and I have learned a lot so far.

I recently completed the Level 2…

I recently completed the Level 2 Counselling course with Marion (13 weeks), and from start to finish, it was a truly positive experience. The course was well-structured, using Google Classroom alongside an organized workbook and assessment book that was easy to follow. If you appreciate good organization like me, this course will definitely impress you. Our instructor, Marion, is a highly experienced counsellor whose insights were invaluable. The sessions were thoughtfully designed, combining whole-group teaching with smaller group activities where we explored personal growth and self-reflection. I’m incredibly grateful to have taken this course, as it challenges you to look beyond the surface and engage in deep self-examination, reflecting on your feelings, thoughts, and biases.

Having just completed Level 2...

Having just completed Level 2, I can say that the work was manageable and engaging. I can't speak to what other tutors are like, but Marion is an excellent tutor and for that I can only look fondly upon my experience with Astranti.

A life changing experience!

Just completed the on-line level 2 counselling skills course with Astranti Connect and would 100% recommend them to anyone. Marion, our tutor, was amazing - so helpful, supportive and caring, she made the whole experience fantastic and one I'll always have happy memories of. This course, and Marion, took me on a life changing journey I never realised how much I needed. The course content was interesting and easy to follow without any long assignments to complete. I'll definitely be signing up to complete level 3 with them. If you're thinking about doing your level 2 Counselling Skills course with Astranti then I say stop thinking and just go for it - you won't regret it!
