low quality chairs and lack of responsibility about issues
1st Chiro Curve 24 Hour Fabric Posture Office Chair was a better build, and lasted 2.5 years before the gas-filled part of the back exploded loudly and deflated. The 2nd Curve was a worse build from the start and has only lasted about 8 months ... 8 days ago a castor broke on it, badly jerking my back ... already disabled/housebound/crutches/serious arthritis in hips and worsening in back, and have been bedridden all week, ongoing.
I'd explained that the decorative packaging had been unexpected, not able to be removed, and it was that which had worked it's way down and affected the castor. I'd already needed to reference disability in requesting the 2nd Curve taken out of the box on delivery, which I'd appreciated being done, but the response was that a castor would be sent and I could fit it myself. If I couldn't remove the base packaging, how was I to lift a heavy chair and replace a castor? Also, I was injured when the castor jerked the chair, but still the response was to fit the castor myself. On explaining I couldn't do this, a £30 service charge needed paying, in order to arrange someone to replace the castor and trim off the rest of the unnecessary packaging. I appreciated the use of email to make arrangements, but the service man was very odd, sending two emails with different and deliberately mixed up dates and times, and then no reply when I asked which of 2 days and what time. Atlantis, despite having arranged the servicing, weren't helpful when I said I was having problems.
There's been no apology about the decorative packaging causing unnecessary issues and especially regarding damage to health. Bad attitude regarding me not being able to fit the castor, that this is really inconvenient and not their problem. Also the attitude that it's my problem if the service man is unpleasant, and not their job to sort anything out.
At no point was I unpleasant or demanding; simply requested 2nd chair out of the box when delivered, and reported the castor breaking and doing harm, plus that I couldn't fit a castor, and then I requested email contact regarding service appointment.
The 24-hour Curve's clearly are advertised as chiropractic chairs meant for proper back support ... the attitude that it's tiresome that someone disabled uses such a chair, for back/hip support, and Atlantis Office have no responsibility if the gas pocket explodes on the back, or the castor causes injury to the back, is unacceptable. Had enough, so am obtaining the service charge refund, considering action, due to damage to health, and have emailed Herman regarding delivery of a chair.
