I really like the crearive design of EVO8, but firmware has to improve towards better stability.

Sulicon M1. I couldn't set 44.1 in audio midi controll, it jumped back to 96 several times. First i had to killall in terminal, than deleted files in finder several times. Also i had to restart the decice because one earphones output was silent.

So, I hope for more solid firmware while working with it a lot.

Using this as my small lil portable interface. Sounds amazing, easy to use and just easy to tuck into a bag with computer and some cables. Spent some days in a cabin writing music and greately enjoyed my lil interface. Preamps are good and I use alot of material from the demos.

Returning to music after 30 years Audient was the name that was suggested to me and I have not been disappointed. It fits neatly in my newly constructed studio space and works brilliantly. Highly recommended

The ORIA mini is excellent! A significant upgrade to my monitoring. I enthusiastically recommend it. Five Stars! Additionally, Audient support is fantastic.

I am really happy to own ID44 MK2. I was looking for rack interface but, bought this one on good deal. So only one con for me - it's no rack. Rest is absolutely amazing. I love this unit for how it sounds !!

Audient makes recording so easy. The easier equipment is to use the more productive I can be in getting my ideas down.

First impressions of the iD14 II interface are that it is very solidly built and smart looking, if a bit industrial. It looks like it would survive well in a recording environment though the large encoder wheel is a bit wobbly due to its multi-function.

The headphone input was where I found my first issue. When I plugged my (hifi) headphones into the 3.5mm jack, I got all sorts of weird feedback and static and thought the unit was defective. I tried a number of other headphones/earbuds and after some playing about, I realized that the issue was the 4 pole jack on my headphones/earbuds, which have an inline remote. This unit appears to be incompatible with these. When I added a 3.5mm-1/4" adaptor and plugged into the 1/4" output it worked perfectly. Once working properly, the headphone amp is actually really good. Far better sound than I get straight out of the computer and possibly better than the one on my expensive hifi amplifier.

On to controls, and on the left you have a hardware gain control for each of the two inputs. On right is the large multi-function encoder wheel. This has no numbered graduations - it just goes round and round - and controls the output level of the headphones or speakers, depending which of the buttons below it is selected. When you adjust the knob, the output (volume) level of the selected output is briefly displayed on the LED meters. It all works and this knob seems to be the USP of the iD range, but I can't help feeling that a separate graduated knob for each output (matching the inputs) would be more useful.

Onto the meters themselves and this is where I come to the second issue. The meters really don't do what you would expect them to do. All the manual has to say about them is:

"Hardware Metering: The 8-segment hardware meters indicate playback level of the iD mixer app, so it is suggested that end users observe their DAW metering for input levels."

The job of the interface is to (pre)amplify your input signals and send them to your DAW, so you would think that meters that showed you the effect of your gain setting (high enough to maximise dynamic range but low enough to avoid clipping) would be really useful, but they do not show input at all, just output.

I know what the output volume is, I can hear it, and if there were dedicated volume controls I'd know how high they were set. Maybe I have very efficient headphones (I don't think so) but in use, at comfortable listening levels, only the bottom two LEDs were lighting and at the maximum volume I could set, only the bottom 3 sets, so they don't tell you anything useful with headphones. It may be different for monitors.

Onto the iD Mixer software, which looks clean and simple but has one glaring issue - the legends are grey on a dark grey background and, in a daylight lit room, I can barely see what they say. Really guys, let's have a more sensible UI colour scheme and maybe a light/dark option. Its fine at night with low lighting but I shouldn't need to shut the curtains to see the software.

According to the Audient video on the software (there is no manual as such, just FAQs) the Mixer software is entirely for controlling the monitored output from the interface and has no effect on the signal out to the DAW. This seems not to be quite true as each input has a +10dB software boost which does affect the output signal.

Each input (which includes inputs back from your DAW) has a level meter and a slider next to it so that you can mix the signal from your various inputs out to your headphones/speakers and even have different mixes for different 'audiences'. However, this time the meters show the signal INPUT whereas the sliders next to them control only the volume OUTPUT and have no effect on the input gain/meter readings.

So on the hardware, we have input controls and output meters whereas on the software we have input meters and output controls. You set your gain on the hardware, whilst monitoring the level on the software, mix the speaker/headphone output signals on the software but set the master volume back on the hardware. This seems bonkers to me and I would guess that most of this is to accommodate the encoder dial. Life could be a lot simpler without it.

In a way, much of this is a bit immaterial in practice. In operation, just plug your inputs in, set your gain and then just do everything in your DAW. The sound quality (at least judging by the headphone output) is extremely good and the thing seems robust enough to last for years (though my encoder knob just fell off - it just needed its grub screw tightening). It does what it needs to do very well, it's just a bit odd in terms of user experience. This is my first foray into recording though, so maybe I'm 'doing it wrong'?

Not perfect but highly recommended because of its sound quality. But please get some contrast in the software UI!

well made device (ID44mkII), great included plugins, awesome that you can use the volume knob to scroll faders and such. Installing drivers was super easy and connected easy to my pc (using cubase). The F-buttons should be made user definable, this is a HUGE missing feature in my opinion and others have shared the same sentiment. Should be an easy fix with software from Audient. Everything else is great so far!

Hi! I bought this audio interface, and it sounds absolutely amazing; it’s convenient and easy to set up. The only thing I don't like is the headphone volume roller—it spins endlessly without any stops, which is a bit inconvenient—but otherwise, it’s great to use. Plus, the design is beautiful and aesthetically pleasing. If you're unsure about buying it, just go for it—you won't regret it.
I’d also like to add something regarding the technical side: there’s no hissing or distortion—the sound is perfectly clean, both in the headphones and the microphone.

Autogain sets the recording levels too low for drums. Connecting the EVO16 to my mac mini M4 makes it forget the saved configuration. I have it connected to a MOTU 828 2024 and works ok.

Hi, I really hope your read my review. Im in love with and it works great with my Shure SM7DB. But there is a down side here. I have to record to pc then sync tracks in premiere pro and it takes time and sometimes the audio track timing not matching. I wish there is a way to connect the Audient directly to the camera and i tried a cable dual TRS to 3.5 to connect to the camera and changed to line instead of Mic and still no sound. Please help if this can be done to get audio directly to my Camera and what cable should I use. Thanks. Rating 4 stars only for this reason

Je l'ai acheté pour un test de configuration immersif en 7.1.4.
Le rendu est très bon en terme de dynamique et de pureté. Le rapport qualité prix est très bien.
Or quelle déception les 12 sorties line annoncées sur le site ne sont pas indépendantes. mais seulement 8. La documentation n'est pas claire et la com trompeuse.

De surcroit, le commercial Laurent Lacampagne chez Audio-Technica se cache derrière "je ne me rappelle pas les conversations qui datent d'un mois..." alors que je lui avait demandé confirmation de ce point technique avant de commander.
Quand je le rappelle il m'annonce que l'ID48 n'a que 4 sorties !!!
Je venais de lui acheter 12 moniteurs Genelec pour la même configuration. Je suis client pro mais visiblement cela lui importe peu. Dont acte il y a d'autres fournisseurs

Got a ID4, great preamp, but not totally noise free. Noise from a phone can enter it. Otherwise great product!

I had the AKG C414 XL II Mic for some years now, I have used couple audio interfaces but recently purchased the Audient iD 14 MK II and oh my God I am discovering the capacity of my mic for the first time, when they tell you the Audient has the cleanest preamp do not argue that, it is for real the cleanest preamp and most beautiful recording I can get. Nothing beats that in this budget period.

I put the EVO16 in the studio to interface 24 channels of in and out with an analog mixer and a 24 channel tape recorder, no problems, great sound and remarkable dynamics. I think this little box does a great job and then let's not forget the price...so thank you Audient!
