Effective but very strong scent & mysterious ingredients
Being sensitive to strong perfumes and scents, I bought the "babyganics" brand of "natural insect repellent"thinking it would be gentler and less offensive than "Off" and other traditional brands. Preparing for my long 3-hour hike along the river at dusk, when I knew the mosquitoes and other bugs would be out and hungry, I sprayed it all over my legs, arms and neck. I noticed the strong scent but thought, "smells alright, kind of nice". At first it seemed to be working well. I felt mosquitos land lightly on my skin and immediately leave due to the product been there. After a couple hours, however, I started feeling nauseous. I sat down to rest and felt a deep burning pain in my abdomen. I waited about 20 minutes and it subsided. When I got home I read the details on the product label carefully. I had bought it since it had essential oils. What I had not noticed was that the oils were only 4.75% of the entire ingredients. The remaining 95.25% consisted of "Other ingredients" which were NOT disclosed on the label. Also, I noticed that the product had not been registered with the EPA. The other ingredients were and still are affecting me negatively this morning.
