3 years ago we had the most traumatic experience with our cats cremation via our vets. On Monday, we knew the time for our beloved boy Felix had come and the thought of a repeat experience was awful and prompted me to look online - where I found Barnshaw. This time, our Felix passed away peacefully in my arms and we took him away from the vets to say final goodbyes. My son and his partner drove to Barnshaw and although upset - couldn't praise Di and Chris enough- as they took Felix with dignity and compassion. He was returned the next day and the small but poignant touches that Di and Chris add, make a difficult and upsetting time just that little bit better. From the very first phone call speaking to Di, she could not have done enough for us.
We took our Gorgeous George the next day to Barnshaw Pet Crematorium where we were met with Chris. As you can imagine we were distraught after losing our beautiful family dog, Chris was so accommodating and nothing was too much trouble.
We collected George within a few hours in a beautiful casket with a few personal touches.

We sadly lost our bulldog late on a Saturday afternoon but wanted to keep him at home for the night. On the Sunday morning we phoned Barnshaw and they were able to cremate our dog the same day. We were heartbroken with our loss but when we arrived Di was fantastic. She showed compassion and sympathy. She explained the procedure which put us at ease and seeing how clean the cremator & equipment was reassured us that we would only receive our Shanks ashes. She took a lovely paw print for us and also cut some of his hair for us. Nothing was too much trouble for her. Di knew how much we wanted our Shanks back home and was delighted when she said we could collect his ashes the same day. We received his ashes in a beautiful casket with an inscription we chose and our dogs paw print so professionally done by Chris. They are truely amazing in what they do and the care they show to the owners and animals is phenomenal. I would highly recommend Barnshaw Pet Crematorium to anyone who is unfortunate enough to lose their beloved pets. I wouldn't take my animals to anywhere else now I have experienced the care and compassion shown by Di and Chris. Thank you for helping with our loss of our Shanks.

Sadly our dog passed away late on the Friday night of a bank holiday weekend. We contacted Barnshaw Pet Crematorium on Saturday morning and to our relief we were able to arrange a cremation for the same day. Losing a pet is a very upsetting time, but we were treated really well throughout the process with empathy and dignity.

From the first contact by phone. through the delivery to the crematorium to the collection of the ashes, the service was thoughtful and efficient and we were able to scatter her ashes the same weekend whist the family was at home.

If you should have the missfortune to lose a pet we would thoroughly recommend the services of Barnshaw Pet Crematorium.

From the moment of the first phone call regarding the sudden loss our baby boy Max . They collected Max from the vets on the same day and sent a message to us when Max had arrived We went to see them that afternoon we wanted Max wrapped up in his 2 favourite fleece blankets we described how Max would wrap himself in them and when we saw Max they had done it perfectly , Chris & Di were so helpful ,understanding, sincere, caring and loving the crematorium was beautiful and peaceful we knew / felt that Max was at peace and knowing Chris and Di would be caring to Max they are the most amazing caring people we have ever met and even though we were grieving and in disbelief that Max had been taken to soon Chris and Di were so understanding, compassionate and caring we then went through different ways to keep Max ashes safe. We chose the engraved photo ashes frame and when we went back next day to bring Max home we were given the most beautiful memorial in a gift bag inside was Max hair clipping, his paw print, and ashes for jewellery a individual cremated certificate his collar and a beautiful sympathy card. Knowing that when we brought max home we had only max it meant so much knowing all of Max was home. We highly recommend Chris & Di and We cannot express enough just how much we are so thankful for all the respect, love,care understanding and compassion you showed for Max and us . He was taken from us suddenly and to soon

At such a sad time Barnshaw’s personal service was exceptional, kind and thoughtful. We can’t recommend them enough….

Barnshaw pet crematorium were very kind and caring throughout the whole process and made the experience of losing our beloved cat much easier. The turn around of receiving the ashes was very quick compared to the longer wait we would have had if we had gone with the usual services that vets use! The personal touches that were made were very thoughtful and we really appreciated them! If I ever lost another pet in the future I would definitely continue to use Barnshaw’s services.

Di was very sympathetic to our needs when we asked for her services for Rudy, our much loved 18 year old cat. I'm so glad I researched rather than go through our vets for the cremation as that did not come with a personal touch at all and was more expensive as well! We also got to choose how we wanted Rudy's ashes to be presented as they had a very good range of caskets etc. We chose a gorgeous little oak tealight holder which had some of his ashes in a compartment underneath and both that and his casket were engraved and were presented with a certificate and a card. A lot of thought has gone into this and we very much appreciated how everything was dealt with. We also have other pets and know that when the time comes we will not hesitate to use Barnshaw again.

Our old girl had her last service with Barnshaw Pet Crematorium. Di & Chris came immediately after a phone call to take care of Lizzie’s body while we were devastated. Had Lizzie’s ashes back in a same day. Thank you Chris & Di and the Barnshaw.

We would like to thank Di for taking care of our boy Riley an 11 year old Husky. From collecting our boy and the communication after was faultless. We cannot thank Di enough for her compassion and we could truly see that she cared.

We loved our precious golden retriever Jasper for 12 years and we wanted to do the best for him on his final journey. He was such a special part of our family.

When the awful time came, Chris and Di were so lovely on the phone and we knew they were the right people to take care of him.

We drove him there after the vet left (our choice) and Chris treated him with such care and dignity. We were naturally devastated and he gently guided us through everything. We collected Jasper’s ashes the next morning which was so important to me as I wanted him back home with us as soon as possible.

I am so pleased we chose Barnshaw for Jasper - it is in a peaceful, rural location - close to places that are special to our family and Jasper’s life.

Sadly we lost 2 much loved pets a few weeks apart and Barnshaw Pet Crematorium came to our rescue helping us through such a difficult time with the utmost professionalism yet care and compassion. Thank you for being a calming presence in an emotional time and for gently guiding us through our options. I would highly recommend Barnshaw to anyone and everyone when the time comes.

Owner Di treated the whole experience with kindness, friendliness and efficiency for our much loved pet dog Tao. Highly recommend this service and we will use them again when the time comes for our other pet dog.
