Structure, Support, and Real Outcomes — A Human Approach
I first heard about Beach Commute through its podcast a couple of years ago. As hybrid roles began quietly shifting back toward being mostly in-office — despite success in remote or remote-leaning setups — I enrolled in mid-August 2025. The benefits have been lasting, both professionally and personally. Beach Commute offers several tiers, and I went all in. It was well worth it — not just as a career move, but as meaningful professional and personal development. The program introduced new ways of thinking and new ways of approaching work, communication, and clarity.
The structure is thoughtful and human. There are self-paced learning modules, and at each stage you’re paired with a subject-specific coach — all real people. The process begins with a deep resume review, feedback, revisions, and LinkedIn profile building and optimization. From there, you gain access to a wealth of program-only, vetted resources covering topics like salary negotiation, tax considerations when working abroad, and AI automation tools. There’s even built-in access to tools like Dripify that helps you connect with professionals aligned with your background and goals — at no extra cost.
I’ve never missed the twice-weekly group coaching calls and there are also replays of these to access via Grain. They’re a standout part of the program. You meet people from all over the world, across ages and industries, each with their own reason for being there. The conversations are generous, practical, and surprisingly grounding.
Generative AI is woven throughout the program — not as a gimmick, but as a tool — and it’s clear that what you get out of this depends on the effort you put in week by week. There are strong templates for outreach around job opportunities or business ideas, encouragement (and guidance) to make real video connections with people at companies you’re interested in, and 1:1 coaching sessions where you can work through career clarity with an experienced, deeply empathetic professional. There are also weekly calls focused on online relationship-building and optional sales career/industry related calls. I’ve learned a great deal just by listening, observing, and participating.
The community itself matters! Slack and Circle are active, thoughtful spaces. By design, you may be exposed to ways of communicating that are far more seamless and efficient than what’s common in many industries. You’ll learn new concepts — and you may even make a couple of new friends, as I have.
My advice: keep an open mind, keep it simple, don’t overthink — and show up. Go to the group calls - camera on or off, listen, learn, and offer. Don't be afraid to give regular feedback so that the program can work for you. Use what’s available. Don’t let time pass without fully engaging with what the program offers.
Great shout-outs to Dani, Adam, and Syd. Thank you to Cassie and Jenna, and to Maggie and Vince for the early guidance. Since joining, I’ve landed multiple remote-only company interviews some with my top choice companies, even into the final round — and I’m still in motion. While I’m open to pivoting as needed, I know it’s the effort I’ve put in, combined with Beach Commute’s guidance, that’s carried me this far in a competitive market — especially for truly remote, work-from-anywhere roles at global companies. Just as important, I learned a great deal about myself. I clarified my strengths and weaknesses in relation to others’ experiences, and I became much clearer about what matters most to me in a company: transparency, intentionality, and how those values show up in real support for employee wellbeing and remote collaboration — whether async or otherwise.
This program is also well-suited for those pivoting toward solo/entrepreneurship full-time or on the side. While fewer members are on that path, there are always some in the group calls, and they receive a more tailored approach. I’ve learned from them as well — lessons I’ll carry forward into future possibilities.
Like many things in my life, this decision came as a clear signal. I weighed it carefully, entered with an open mind, and committed. I’m confident that as the nature of work continues to shift, Beach Commute will continue to adapt and improve by listening closely to its members.
Thank you, Beach Commute! It mattered that I found you exactly when I did.
