We moved into our new Bell home just over 6 months ago and absolutely love it. Due to market conditions, selling our previous house proved difficult but Bells were very supportive as we worked hard to find a buyer. Our new house has been finished to a very high standard, far better than other new houses we’ve seen and lived in and unlike many new houses, it has a very generous plot size. After sales support has been excellent, with the inevitable minor snags (including a leak on Christmas Eve) fixed quickly. Very happy to recommend Bells to potential buyers
Bramley Drive - Huntington
We moved into our Bell home in July 2025 and as I write this review in March 2026 we remain very happy with our decision to buy this house. The process of reservation, option selection and then through exchanging contracts and completing was as smooth as you can expect a large transaction like this.
We were not looking to buy a new build, mainly due to our experience looking at other developers and sites where the rooms are only just big enough and the plots very small and overlooked. It was almost by accident that we happened upon the Bramley Drive development as we were in the area looking at an older house. As soon as we looked around the show home we could see that the quality of the build and the generous space both inside and outside was something different to the main national developers.
As is often the way, the completion date was delayed from what we had originally expected, but this was a matter of weeks rather than months. We used a snagging company to provide a report on any issues and this was very reassuring as there were really only minor cosmetic issues to be addressed.
Given the choice again, we would definitely still buy this house, but with hindsight there are some different choices we would make - particularly regarding flooring and tiling where the options available weren’t what we’d have really liked - but now the kitchens and bathrooms are fitted on top of the floor tiles and wall tiles I’m not sure how we could easily change them.
That said we really appreciated some areas where we were given options on small layout points (such as whether we wanted a door through between the font and back lounges and where we preferred the hallway cupboard). We were also able to makes changes to the kitchen, utility and pantry layouts and request a few specific upgrades such as to include a Quooker tap and Andersen EV charger. This made it really feel like our house from day one.

The quality of the build is excellent and any small problems experienced are acknowledged and addressed without delay.
Brilliant experience
Buying a Bell Homes has been a smooth process from start to finish.
We had brilliant communication with all members of staff. Whether that was the sales team whilst picking options, to site manager and customer care for any aftercare queries. Nothing was too much trouble.
And the end product is a beautiful home which we love and have settled into so quickly.

The sales staff in the show home at the site have always been very friendly, helpful, and informative and have kept me up to date with any developments with regard to my purchase. Excellent service and information from 1st visit to purchase. We have only been in our new Bells Home a week and are delighted by the way site manager Terry, Harriet and Roger have offered any help we needed. The build quality, fittings, heating etc are superb. We have a few minor issues that are not worth mentioning on this review. We have reported them to site office and they will rectify over the next week or so. We are both very pleased with our new home and feel very settled and comfortable. Thanks to all at Bell Homes.

We had looked at other developers and their sales teams were nowhere near as good constantly having to refer to their manager. Post purchase the Customer Care team how been brilliant. We bought a 3 bed bungalow from Bell Homes in Gloucestershire and are very pleased with it. There were some snagging problems but customer services and Carl the site manager and his team got them fixed them in a reasonable time and were keen to make sure everything was done to our satisfaction. The kitchen fittings, doors, worktops etc all seem good quality (and a large choice too) and the carpentry work for all the interior doors in the house were rated excellent by our independent snagging surveyor, ( he also said the house quality was very good). Everybody who visits us says what a lovely house it is and we have to agree, and after 4 months after moving in we still feel very fortunate in getting to live here!

Bell Homes - Great Experience
My whole process dealing with Bell Homes has been very positive from moving in to the present day.
One or two minor snagging problems which are to be expected in a new build were dealt with swiftly and professionally.
On the occasions I have dealt with Customer Service they have responded to my emails very quickly and politely , informing the site manager who very quickly contacted me and arranged for the necessary tradesman to complete the work required.
From the time I decided to buy a Bell Home, I have had absolutely no regrets and would recommend them without hesitation.

Snagging
After a few initial problems, all snags were rectified after excellent work by Jade (customer services) the works were carried out efficiently. Nothing was too much trouble for Jade, she was very professional and courteous.

A Year of Unacceptable Defects and Poor Service from Bell Homes – Urgent Action Requiredubject
We moved into our Bell Homes property less than a year ago, and the entire experience has been marred by a series of significant construction defects and a complete failure of follow-up customer service. The low standard of the initial build is evident, and the subsequent lack of support is wholly unacceptable.
Persistent and Unresolved Construction Defects:
Garden Gates: The initial poor installation of both garden gates has never been properly resolved. Even after a repair attempt, one gate remains insecure, which we were told would require the extensive removal of surrounding stonework to fix.
Staircase Painting: The poor quality of the initial painting on the staircase is still visible. A subsequent attempt to correct this failed, leaving the staircase unsightly.
Front Door Safety Lock: We experienced a serious safety concern when the front door key became stuck. An immediate repair failed, trapping me inside the house. Ultimately, the entire locking system required replacement.
Major Incidents & Disruptions:
Kitchen Ceiling Leak (Water Damage): Four months ago, a serious incident occurred when water leaked through the kitchen ceiling. The cause was traced back to a nail carelessly driven through a pipe by the builders. The resulting repair was highly invasive, requiring holes to be cut in the kitchen ceiling and a guest room wall. Furthermore, my husband had to remove and reinstall all the units in his office due to this damage.
Non-Functioning Oven (Escalating Failure): Our bottom oven has been faulty since day one. Instead of honouring our request for a replacement, Bell Homes has insisted its not their responsibility and we have had to deal with AEG repeatedly sending out engineers. Following the fourth visit, the situation has worsened: the bottom oven is now completely non-functional, and the display on the entire unit is broken. An engineer confirmed today, that the previous repair attempt had compounded the problem. Although the top oven is now at least operational, its display remains broken.
Complete Lack of Support and Recourse:
When I contacted Bell Homes regarding the escalating oven issue, I received an email effectively shirking all responsibility, stating the problem was no longer theirs to resolve. It is a reasonable expectation when purchasing a new home that the appliances, such as the oven, are fully functional.
I had sincerely hoped this latest issue would be fixed today, thereby preventing the need for this review. However, the continuous stream of defects and the total lack of support have made it abundantly clear that we are now stranded. The stress this has caused is intolerable.
Buying a new home should be a joyful experience, not one filled with unending problems and frustrations. Given the complete absence of support and a resolution, I feel I have no alternative but to pursue legal action. The extent of these issues and the poor service is truly unbelievable.
