Bench does a great job with my books, the communication has improved significantly over the last year and the attention to my account has improved significantly as well. I have been using Bench for over 5 years and their integration with my Payroll processor Gusto and my tax team (Bench also) has been great. I enjoy the provided statistics for my business. Bench has handled my company’s financials for the past several years and has done so at a significantly lower cost than my previous bookkeeper. After an initial team that wasn’t the right fit, I requested a change and was paired with a new team led by Meher—an outstanding group that I’ve happily continued working with.

While monthly reports may not always arrive immediately, this hasn’t been an issue for my needs. What matters most to me is having accurate year-end financials ready in January for tax filing, and Bench has been a solid, cost-effective solution for that.

Having all of our bookkeeping organized in one place is so helpful. I love the data visualization and categories, it keeps the information easy to navigate and compare from year to year. The chat function and designated bookkeeper make it easy to coordinate without meetings. Our small business has worked with bench for 5 years now!

As a small business, we're grateful we found Bench. They are a great option for bookkeeping and basic tax prep for our business. We appreciate the personal touch of an actual human who communicates with us when we have questions or they need more details. Saved me hours of tax prep headache for our CPA. Just what we needed, no more, no less.

I canceled my service with Bench 2 years ago. They consistently failed to accurately provide my books on time. Then when I would bring up the many mistakes of my books, I would have the hardest time getting a reply from anyone. I've been Bench free for the past 2 years. But in late 2025 they randomly shut down and ghosted all their clients. It made big news. I didn't think much of it because I was already done with them. Until they started charging my card in December without notice or any authorization from me. I've contacted their customer service. They disabled my customer chat feature without providing my refund so now I'm unable to communicate with anyone from their team. I've called their customer service. They never pick up and never call back. I've sent emails. They never reply. This is the most fraudulent experience I've ever had with a company of this size. I'm not sure if it's pure incompetence or they're purposely doing this to fatten up revenue. Either way, Bench is the scummiest accounting company you could work with. I've stopped working with them and they still somehow find a way to cause me headache. I wish I could give negative stars

Bench is the worst accounting company I've ever worked with. They were the cheapest and now I see why. Your books will be late. You will not get the service you were promised. They are quick to bill you but incredibly slow to respond to the many mistakes they'll make on your books. Their book keeper turnover rate is off of the charts so expect to work with a new accountant every month. You'll also have to re-explain the same recurring categorizations each time as well. Bench is cheap but the time you'll lose is so much more expensive than any mone you'll save by working with them.

Bench has been a great resource for our business. They are very detailed in their work and when you have questions or did them to fix an error they happily fix it. The only reason I didn’t give them a 5 is that there has been a lot of turn over within their company. I know another company bought them recently but with the last two years I’ve had a least 4 different people responsible for our book keeping. And sometimes there is no communication that my books were being transferred to someone else. I literally had to ask why someone else was messaging me about transactions.
Overall our current team member has been very prompt and has done very well in wrapping up our books for 2026.

I started using bench at the beginning of 2024 and it was still a work in progress. However, in 2025, I feel like I received a quality representative, who is super proactive and efficient.

We have been on Bench for several years, and they have made bookkeeping and tax preparation so easy for our company. The bookkeepers are very responsive. We have not had any issues.

I had a rocky start with Bench, but over time, they have gotten much better, and I can rest knowing my books are taken care of. Especially as I have a few unusual rules - they keep on top of everything, and my go-to bookkeeper, Steven, does a great job of keeping me up to date. I've been a happy client since I have had fewer changes to my team, and they have come to understand the nuances of my specific business. I love the ease of the platform and the peace of mind their service gives me.

I’ve had a great experience with Bench Accounting since their transition last year. Their customer service is excellent- responsive, thoughtful, and detail-oriented. Having a dedicated agent who understands our business has made a huge difference, and the portal is intuitive and easy to navigate. Having accurate and timely reporting is critical, and Bench makes that part of my job significantly easier. Highly recommend.

They have no customer service. They take your money every month, but don't do their job. I have had to upload documents over and over, but still don't have my books done from 18 months ago. Then they just say well now we need a different document, so we can't get the books done because of that. Then I upload what they asked for and it happens again. And, there is no one to hold accountable. I just keep paying and the books keep not getting done. I am furious.

Highly unethical company. I signed on, paid $4k+ and one call I realized that the platform does not balance anything in your accounting software so if you ever leave you have to pay someone to go migrate everything and balance your accounting software like Freshbooks, or Quickbooks. Elaine with Senior management tells me that no refunds will be given but I am welcome to forfeit my money. I want to reiterate no work was done on my account this is all in a 20 day span of signing. Now I have to get my lawyer involved, I lost out on a solid bookeeper I was about to hire - they have caused so much stress and damages to a small business - NEVER USE THEM JUST MOVE ON. Check all the reviews online - check their history and why they were acquired it's a mess.

We are two years behind on taxes. I schedule calls with these people and they never show up. I am literally speechless with how incredibly awful they are. I regret the moment I ever signed up, they have ruined almost every aspect of my life. Class action lawsuit time.
