Just a greedy business whose prices keep going up while marketplace and gumtree are free. Both times I sold, I sold on marketplace and gumtree. These ones are a waste of money

Patience is always a good thing when selling something which is in good nick. Bikesales is a good source of advertising media to sell a motorcycle which is in superb condition and when all paperwork is in order it makes any sale so much more easier.

The fact you have to pay for the ad means that GENUINE sellers advertise on carsales and bikes and boats. And genuine sellers mean genuine buyers. I believe buyers do a lot less browsing (like they might do on gumtree or Facebook marketplace) and more do directed searching

I had my BMW GSA 1200 bike advertised…
I had my 2018 BMW GSA 1200 bike advertised on bikesales for 8 months before it sold under extremely strict covid conditions, located in Melbourne to a Brisbane person unseen and unridden by him. Under these conditions it is not possible to travel further than 5 km from home, leave home for pleasure rides or drives, we have a night curfew and the sales market is totally deflated but I continued to receive enquiries from bikesales local and interstate.
Previously I have sold cars on Carsales and I consider it the only place to advertise vehicles in Australia. I also had it advertised in the Trading Post for 7 months and did not receive one enquiry, the Trading Post is absolutely pathetic and I definitely do not recommend it.

Bikesales.com.au seems to be the best place to buy/sell the bike.
Hassle free, privacy protection if you need it, and lot of (not all) genuine buyers.

Good, but many can't access reply messages
The bikesales site allowed my ad to be viewed by lots of people, which was great, but many people who messaged me were not able to read my reply. If someone messages they should need to sign up so they can access replies. I had to message everyone from my phone via text.
Update: Yes Jenna I sold my bike, but that was because I texted almost every person who messaged me on the site asking if they got my online reply, which most did not. As I stated earlier, it would be beneficial for those who want to make an enquiry to first register. It would have made it much easier for me as a seller.

In these cases, we forward your replies directly to the email of the buyer and encourage them to create an account in order to get back to you. Free to advertise, got good exposure, 5 people queued to look at the bike.
I like the sight because the filtering is extensive and easy to use. and you can save searches and be notified of new vehicles advertised that meet your criteria.
As a seller it was easy to set up my advert with as many photos as I wanted.
