The basic paid selling experience is expensive for not much. It is only worthwhile if you pay premium selling fees, but alot of money for less expensive items.

The process of creating the ad was very easy to follow and the bike was sold within a week. Great value for money. Loved it.

Could not change bike details once posted. waste of money. Better off advertising for free elsewhere

This was my 7th or 8th bike sold through bikesales apart from our last 12 or so cars, plus 2 boats. Whilst the price to advertise has crept up, it is well justified in my opinion due to the improved product and functionality of the website for both sellers and buyers. There is simply no competition to the carsales group. Keep improving and I expect market domination will continue. Go you good thing!

Very expensive and did not yield a sale. I received 3 scammers and a few people asking and offering well below market value it simply not answering once they touched base. Not sure if I will use this platform again. I sold my bike on a free Ad.... Marketplace... I'd actually like my money back to be honest.

Really easy to deal with, and got a lot of interest in the bike across a good spread of time (not just when it was first placed but also weeks later).

Bike sales works and was easy to set up the ad looked professional and i had less tyre kickers than the other free websites and apps like gumtree.

Ease of navigation with ad placement that also provides you with the bike specifications. It also seems to filter out the time wasters and tyre kickers - that in itself is a winner!

It was good, but now I'm forced to do this to remove my advertising, it's *hit.

Bikesales is the place to list if you're being pressured to sell your bike by your pregnant wife. It creates the illusion of effort without actually getting results. So everyone is happy!

In all seriousness though - really poor enquiry level that simply does not justify the fees they charge.

I was selling a car at the same time and had to shift it to gumtree because carsales had generated virtually no enquiries. Gumtree delivered over 10X the enquiries and sold it in days.

I would have moved my bike as well but was quite enjoying having it around.

I got a few bike enquiries, but mainly from dealers trying to get it for a steal. To be fair I sold it in the end through Bikesales, but the buyer (and many more) would have found me on Gumtree instead.

So in summary, I wouldn't list on carsales or bikesales again. They simply don't return value for the fees charged. The market has moved to free sites so it makes sense to list there instead.

Good research tool for new bikes/cars, but not for much else.
