Visited the brewery whilst on the area which was lovely. Loved their hedgerow cider so when we got home ordered a case online. No confirmation email, waited a few weeks then tried to contact company which was impossible! Called shop several times who stated they would pass on my details - no-one ever got in touch. Emailed several times - no reply. Called the sales number - unable to get through - just rang out. Eventually found an email on tripadvisor reply who directed me to a sales team member who stated she would re send ciders which she did but completely wrong address in another part of the company . Went through whole process again and eventually ciders were delivered.
Thought this was a one off and ordered again as new message on website stating delivery in 2-4 days or next day if ordered before 2pm. Unfortunately not true! Again money taken, no confirmation email and no ciders. No-one answering emails or calls. What a sham. The company should be ashamed of such poor customer service . Although I love the cider, I will not be ordering again .

This is an updated review, as my first review was less than complementary after my order was not delivered (one parcel lost by Evri and the other broken) and I could not get hold of anyone at Black Sheep to help me. I am however pleased to say that I finally received a response and my delivery has arrived safely via the Royal Mail, it is over a month since I placed my order but better late than never!

Just read vf 'value for money' review (7 days ago).
I have just had exactly the same experience with a bottle of amber ale purchased from Tesco. Smell and taste more like the opposite end of your smiling sheep face.
Please be aware.

How the mighty have fallen and seriously pissed off a never to return customer after many years of ordering cases on line. Order for 6 boxes made on 18 September - 4 arrived 3 October. Started chasing, so far 16 Phone calls - only one answered (pass on my details) and 8 emails with one reply forward email to those concerned. 23 October - nothing - no one is concerned. After buying online every couple of months for almost 6 years I will never order again!

This review is regarding a single bottle of Black Sheep ale I have purchased from Sainsburys. When a friend tried this particular bottle of ale, he said it tasted of vinegar. When I tasted it, I agreed that it tasted & smelt of vinegar. The use by date for this bottle was 17th September 2026. I cannot see anywhere on the website to register my complaint, so am obliged to record it here. I would expect preservatives to be in any bottled ale, therefore for this ale to be off, suggests it was may not be fresh when it was bottled. I would welcome a response from Black Sheep brewery on this incident. The reputation of Black Sheep brewery is at stake as such experiences will deter ale drinkers from purchasing bottled Black Sheep ale, particularly if others have first hand experiences like us.

Ordered 4 cases of beer and was charged £15 delivery. Got an order confirmation email, but nothing after.
When they hadn't arrived after a week, I emailed to find out when to expect them - no response.
When they hadn't arrived after two weeks, I emailed again to ask when to expect them. No response from Black Sheep, but an hour later I got a "next day" delivery notification from EVRI.
The following day only 3 of the 4 cases were delivered, so I emailed Black Sheep again... and again no response.
I've now filed a complaint with cc company, so hopefully will get a refund for the missing case.

So disappointing. Ordered 3 cases of beer for my husband for our wedding anniversary. Couldn't log on to my account, even though correct password entered, website failed to send reset password so couldn't access and order on my account. Placed order as a guest. No email order confirmation ever received, no payment email confirmation. No emails re despatch or expected delivery. Beers arrived thankfully but no gift message enclosed as specified in order. Rubbish customer service and woeful website performance.

Visited Blacksheep brewery at the weekend to do the brewery tour. Alan the guide was absolutely fantastic, very knowledgeable, and explained everything very thoroughly, and was also very entertaining. After the tour we purchased some of Blacksheep finest ales to take home, followed by a drink in the bar, then we had a meal in the onsite restaurant, which was also excellent. Overall was an excellent day out.

I ordered the new megadeth IPA
after a week I still had not received the order.on the tracking it said still at evri delivery depot.contacted black sheep and was told by someone not my job to sort out .contacted them again .was told I would get a refund. 3 days later still nothing .I will never buy anything from this company again in a pub or online

My friend & I have just had lunch there today. An amazing experience. Very welcoming staff, delicious food and great service. Have to mention Evie, she is a great asset, from the moment we set foot into your lovely pub she looked after us so well. Big thank you to Evie, you made our lunch a memorable occasion.

Pre-booked the brewery tour and Alan was very knowledgeable about the company and the brewing process. Ticket price included 2 pints or soft drink opted for a pint of blonde (excellent) and other half had the berry cider again big thumbs up. Pre-booked table for lunch and went for crayfish bagel and ham/cheese caibatta with fries and salad. Great value good service would recommend.

The positives, Friendly with a good bar service and really comfortable lounge area.
Negatives, Our food was terrible, starter was Whitebait which came in an amount to feed a small army, with a slice of questionable sourdough. Burger, dry, with a very funny taste and dry, very very dry. Overall 2 stars, and a bill of £43.85 for food which was definitely not repeatable.

8/3/25 1pm Tour

The brewery tour is well worth a visit when in and around the Masham
aria. The tour lasts about an hour with interesting facts and tales from tour guide Alan. His insight into the trade mixed with interesting history about the brewery and the family business are really worth the trip. The ticket pricing is really good value and includes a chance to sample from the bar which also offers snacks and meals to make for a really worthwhile visit. Good parking is available on site at no extra charge. Special thanks to Alan from Jaimie & Neil (Doncaster) 👍

Long wait for food even though pre-ordered. Small plates were not good - tasteless and undercooked. Service charming but when we mentioned that we (party of 16) were not happy, comment was 'that's a shame' - no dialogue regarding what was wrong.

Been a fan of Black Sheep beers for a while now, have done the excellent brewery tour and, yes, I even bought a t-shirt.
After contacting the brewery about an issue with one of the beer’s in my advent box, I was impressed with how they treated me as a valued customer.
So thank you Karen for turning my disappointment into delight!

Absolutely shocking customer service… taken my money and not delivered my goods, emails ignored… passed around on the phone. Will be reporting to trading standards SHOCKING AVOID
