The WORST Customer Service
I have never had such poor customer service as I have with born primitive
I ordered two pair of shoes, one for myself and one for my husband. I put my shoes on when they arrived and wore them in my home gym for maybe 30 minutes. I didn’t like that my ankle experienced a rub!
I contacted the company born primitive and requested a return. Because I said I wore them they would not accept the return. I sent an email and they agreed to return the shoes but not without extensive photos being sent.
They then granted me in store credit, but not just for my shoe - for both
My husband didn’t like the shoe. His were never “worn”.
The in store or online credit serves no purpose. I am out $282.
I tried over three times to explain and request a store credit for my shoe and a credit for my husband. No Success!!!
What shoe company penalizes you for trying on a shoe by refusing return?
I personally would not recommend this company. There’s many other great shoe companies to choose from!
I'm extremely Disappointed with Misleading Advertising and Poor Service
I'm extremely disappointed with my recent experience and feel compelled to warn other potential customers about several serious issues:
False Advertising on Shipping: The website clearly advertised UPS Access Point shipping as "Only $5!" but I was charged $8 with no explanation. When I contacted customer service, representative Liberty claimed the fee was based on "weight and destination" - yet the company has since quietly changed their website to say "Only $8!" This proves the fee was never variable as they claimed, and they were simply false advertising.
Delivery Times Don't Match Promises: Despite advertising 3-6 day delivery via UPS Access Point, my package took a full 10 days to arrive. That's 67-233% longer than what was promised on their website when I placed my order.
Unauthorized Charges: I discovered two separate "Order Protection" charges ($2.75 and $3.75) that I never authorized or requested. No clear explanation was provided for why there were duplicate charges for a service I didn't want.
Terrible Customer Service: I've sent three follow-up emails about these issues and received absolutely no response. The complete lack of accountability and communication is unacceptable.
Between the misleading advertising, hidden fees, delivery times that were nearly double what was promised, and total disregard for customer concerns, I cannot recommend this company. There are plenty of other retailers who are honest about their pricing and delivery times - I suggest looking elsewhere.
Unable to return product (can’t even wear product)
Unable to return product. I was told what I ordered was “exchange only”. I have high arches and am unable to even wear their product! Buyer beware!!

BEST. SHOES. EVER.
My husband, who is an avid athlete, weightlifter, MMA, etc., found this company while searching for new shoes. Since buying his first pair of shoes from BornPrimitive about a year ago these are the only shoes he will wear. He recently bought me a pair and I LOVE them! Their selection/style of shoes is simple yet they come in an array of colors to choose from.
I give them a 5 star review for the comfort of the shoes and also because of their customer service. My husband ordered 2 pairs of shoes (because this is how much he loves them…) and found them to be a little snug and so he needed to exchange them. We weren’t expecting them to exchange the pair he already had worn a few times but they did. They were incredibly kind. I wouldn’t have faulted them for not exchanging the worn pair for the next size up but they did. I was pleasantly surprised to find that dealing with their customer service via email was easy. Usually I dread these kinds of things but Born Primitive set the bar for customer service!
I felt it was necessary to leave a 5 star review here because I was surprised to find their review rating so low on here… what a bummer! So I hope my review brings it up a bit.
Be prepared to lose money if you have to return anything. What a joke!
The only online retailer I know that gouges you $22 dollars to send back a product. They claim every online retailer does this, however, I have purchased products online millions of times and yet I always receive the full refund. If I pay $120 for an item after taxes and shipping and I return the product as nearly brand new, I expect $120 back. In reality, Born Primitive decided you are out the taxes and shipping on a product you don't want anymore, making the consumer cover the cost of an ONLINE STORE. It would be different if they had a brick and mortar location to try on clothes to see if they actually fit the people they claim the clothing should fit, but instead, they offer a store credit so you buy more of their crappy, mis-sized clothing. What a dumpster fire of a company. I'm glad I lost $20 simply trying your product and returning it as expected. Kick rocks
Arrived as “Made in China”
I ordered 2 pairs of Savage 1 gym shoes. I felt I was mislead to believe this was a patriotic product. Even made a donation. Love the fact that it’s veteran owned but upon arrival, noticed the shoes were made in China. No indications provided on the website or during the ordering process. Very disappointed. Would not have purchased if I knew the product was made in China.
Refuse to accept return
Cannot return the item, as it was a "final sale".
French law is very clear, you can return the item up until 14 days after delivery.
There are some exceptions for some products, but "final sale" is not one of them.
If I don't have a solution from them in 30 days, I will file a complaint with the bank.
Great gear and solid company
Great gear. Have made at least 10 orders with Born Primitive and some things I like so much I have bought a second time. Do liked the Savage 1 training shoe so much I bought a second pair that I have not even unboxed yet. Had to do a couple of return / exchange to upgrade to a larger size and these transactions went through without a hitch! Service team is very helpful and kind and made my experience very easy. I love their gear, probably addicted to it ha ha. I cannot say enough good things about this company. Trust Pilot asks for a date of my experience and I just put in an order today but I have been buying from them at least for 6-7 months- highly recommended by me
Order never received
Order never received. We ordered on the EU site and paid directly, 5 weeks later and a bunch of excuses but we received nothing. We have filed an official complain for internet fraude.
Unbearable return/exchange process
Their return/exchange process is unbearable. They make it seem like it would be easy, but it's not. I tried to return some items and shop right away. Ended up choosing more items than what my exchange would be and also had a gift card. Guess what? Can't use the gift card within the exchange process. I tried reaching out to the help line and when I pointed out how unfair that was, they went offline and stopped responding. That is ridiculous. I won't be shopping there anymore.
UPDATE: Even better? As soon as I ordered, I was notified that they didn't actually have the item I wanted in stock.
Don't expect to return anything
Don't expect to return anything. If you even try it on they will claim it's worn and try to screw you out of your money. Their return process is poorly worded to mislead you so you won't be able to return. I'll never buy anything from them again due to their customer service. It's not that good to deal with their crap.

We returned what we could, only to find that there was no real return process, you just ship a package to an office in France and pay for it yourself ($30).
Won't be buying again... They're laughing all the way to the bank, be sure of that.
Return process is horrible
The delivery took a couple of weeks, but that was to be expected at the end of the year, especially with Black Friday and all. I am happy with the quality of their stretch flannel shirts; the fabric feels great. Unfortunately, one of the shirts was too large, so I had to swap it for a smaller size. That’s when the return process started, and that’s where I’m less satisfied.
They ship their products from France, and the customer is responsible for returning the items at their own risk. I paid DHL to deliver the products to the address they provided. Three days later, DHL attempted delivery, but there was no one there to receive the package. I tried to contact BornPrimitive and informed them that the products were at the local parcel shop. However, they said they couldn’t retrieve it and that their hands were tied. Now, I have to wait for DHL to return the package and then send it again. How inefficient and environmentally damaging is that? I hope DHL will return the package to me, so I can gift the larger size to someone else. I won’t be ordering from BornPrimitive again—I can’t take that risk.

Item never came, no tracking number and no help
Ordered 30th August and it’s now 1st October and I’ve received nothing.
No tracking number and no item. I emailed asking for my tracking number, they said someone would help. Heard nothing, emailed again last week and they haven’t responded. Need to now find out how to get my money back.
