The web site and online service was very good but this was not backed up by the branch in Camberley. My equipment was delivered at 6.00 in the evening on the day of hire. The online gave me a free days hire to make up for this and when i off hired i was sent an invoice for an additional days hire. It took two weeks and numerous telephone calls to the branch to get my items collected only after i made a call to the online team and complained. At thebranch no one answered the calls and when you left you number for them to call back nothing happened. I am dtill chasing my refund eith the credit control office. Should i use them again????

He then answered a phone call, returning to the front of the store to check stock.. again no acknowledgement that I was waiting. I had to wait in total 40 minutes before the second member of staff , Lawerance, was freed up from his customer and was able to help. He was very apologetic for my wait and even carried the vleaner toy car. Surely, in store customers take priority over computer work and the phone? Even the other customer commented on how I was treated by the manager.

Rubbish piece of equipment. Although fully explained what was needed it failed to perform adequately. Don't do anything to improve on my behalf. Brandon tool hire Travis Perkins and any other associated companies have lost a customer forever

I hired a petrol concrete poker. First the probe was for another machine and wouldn't fit, so I had to drive 12miles for the correct one, which then turned out to be broken. I couldn't take it back a second time, as the concrete mixer was by then on site. I ended up having to tamp it by hand, which took me into the evening, finish a job that should have take an hour.

We hired a concrete breaker with chisels. When we got it home we found the chisels didn't even fit in the breaker. We returned to the shop. The manager was less than apologetic and responded in an aggressive manner when we asked if we could have a partial refund for the lost time ( he couldn't do it as it was booked online). He did offer an extra free days hire - not much use to us due to time constraints. Having checked the chisels went in the breaker we went home again only to find they were still the wrong ones and weren't holding in the breaker or giving any percussion. Calling the manager he sent a video of how they should fit, we tried again but as this was what we had been doing anyway the chisel just fell out. We finally returned to the shop with the breaker having wasted a whole afternoon and cancelled the hire. Again the manager wasn't at all apologetic and didn't acknowledge it was their fault - supplying the wrong chisels. The wheel fell off the trolley it was supplied on too and he basically just said the trolley wasn't part of the hire. On the positive side having complained online on the Saturday the full refund was actually sent on the Sunday, on both days the stores are closed. I was hoping for at least a credit as compensation for 4hrs lost but this was not forthcoming or even any apology with the refund.

Delivered my a moss brush without having checked that it was safe to hire and checking it was full of fuel. Lasted 10 seconds before the belt came off, could have injured me. Picked it up and told me they couldn't give me a timescale for a replacement. Pretty poor for a national company, could understand if it was a local one off shop.

The quality of the scarifier was poor. It had obvisouly not been maintained so whilst I had specifically sought a place to hire a Camon LS42 (a high quality scarifier) I was very disappointed. I raised this on the day, and they kindly sent someone to take a look. He agreed it was not working properly, so they arranged for a second unit to be delivered the same day. Unfortunately this was in even worse condition.
I used the first unit as best I could which was better than not scarifying at all, but it's poor that they delivered these machines in such poor condition.
In the end I've given 3 stars because when I raised a complaint, they refunded me in full.
However, I most likely won't hire from Branon's next autumn when I need to scarify as a result of this experience as I'll be apprehensive of receiving another poorly maintained machine.

The machine worked well and carpets came up lovely. The drop off was flexible and easy too. I would definitely recommend and use myself again. When I’m feeling fit enough I will hire a driveway cleaner.
