Great service

I hired this company because I had very little knowledge of tax and needed professional guidance. Unfortunately, my experience was extremely disappointing.

From the beginning, communication felt overly technical and was often explained as though I already understood tax terminology and processes. I repeatedly explained that I did not have a tax background and needed things broken down into simpler terms, but I never felt that happened.

One of my biggest frustrations was that I was never clearly informed at the start that I should be using accounting software to track and categorise expenses. I assumed that, as my accountants, they would review my bank statements and identify obvious business expenses, such as payments to my content manager. As a result, legitimate expenses were not included, and I ended up paying significantly more tax than necessary in my first year.

I later involved my financial adviser in meetings because I was struggling to understand the explanations being provided. Even my adviser commented that while he understood the technical aspects, the information was not being communicated in a way that an average client with no tax knowledge would easily understand.

Another major issue was the lack of support when trying to resolve matters with HMRC. I repeatedly requested a video call so I could share my screen and quickly work through the issues I was having. Instead, I was directed back and forth through email and told to navigate various sections of the HMRC app without clear guidance. After several requests, a video call was eventually arranged days later, which could have saved considerable time and frustration had it been offered sooner.

During that call, I was told I should receive a refund within 10–15 days and that if there were any issues, they would help. When the refund did not arrive and I contacted them again for assistance, I was simply told to contact HMRC myself. When I expressed my frustration and asked why I was no longer being supported, the company chose to disengage from me as a client rather than address my concerns.

My overall experience was that communication lacked clarity, support was limited when problems arose, and there was very little accountability when mistakes or misunderstandings occurred. If you already have a strong understanding of tax and accounting processes, you may have a different experience. However, if you are hiring accountants because you do not understand tax and need guidance, I would not recommend this company based on my experience.
