Extremely slow response from tech Support
Call for tech support Monday morning. Told that voice mail message is put into a que for response. Left 2nd message late Tuesday. As of Wednesday evening still no call back.

After leaving several voice mails and live chatting to inquire about getting a replacement part, that was clearly poorly manufactured, with no call backs or emails, I managed to reach someone at their Concord store at the front desk. After explaining that I could not get through to their support team to inquire about my issue, she assured me that she would pass my concerns to her supervisor and that I would be receiving a call.
After waiting nearly two days, I managed to contact the same person that I spoke with.
She mentioned that she would walk to the support desk to let them know.
A few hours later, I received an email from the support team asking that I provide the following:
1-Photo of serial/model number of your machine
2- When your product was purchased (proof of purchase, if applicable)
3- Photos or videos clearly showing the issue
4- A brief description of the problem (e.g., when it started and what was happening at the time)
Needles to say this infuriated me since I had spent numerous times on the phone explaining exactly what the issue was, not to mentioned the twenty or so minutes that I spent on their live chat giving the same info that they were requesting in their email with a photo.
On a side note, the item that was damaged was a hood dust collector stand worth approximately $60.
But because I had some issues in the past with support, I purchased an $800.00 dust collector from one of their competitors at the same time that I ordered the hood stand from BusyBee Tools and will be purchasing a sawstop from the same hardware store that I purchased the dust collector.
I'm done with BusyBee!!
To the curious folks who are wondering if I got a replacement part, well you will have to wait a bit for an update.
My reply to their email indicated how frustrated I was with their service and mentioned that they already had all of the information and included the order and part number AGAIN!!
Incredibly slow shipping and non-responsive when you reach out to their support, unless you finally call them.
9 days from when I ordered from them until when I finally gave up and called them to cancel the order.
It's pathetic and sad how I can order from across the globe and get a delivery within 5 days, but this company, 300 km's away, can't even ship in 9 days or even bother to respond to emails to what they call customer service.
Avoid them, order off Lee Valley or even Amazon, if it comes to that
We purchased a shaper and the bearings dried up in it, we contacted the company and sent a video of the noise it was making and within 2 days we received the new bearings no charge or hassle whatsoever,
A lot of companies could learn from
there customer service
Highly recommended company
Thank you Busy Bee!
I shop at the Pickering star regularly and I always get great service and assistance. One of my favourite stores.
Last Friday I had a project to complete and I needed to use my thickness sander. This was the first time that I had to change the sand paper roll and I was having difficulty getting it on correctly. I called Busy Bee and they sent me several video's that were very helpful in solving my problem. This is the kind of service you need just a few hours before the weekend. Thank you Manuel and Sandy.
Worst support and ethic I have ever experienced
I put a order and since was late i requested a reimbursement, I'm still waiting for the reimbursement
they take your money immediately, but they take a VERY VERY LONG TIME TO REIMBURSE YOU. THIS IS MY LAST TIME ORDERING FROM BUSSY BEE TOOLS
None of the Store staff are passionate about what they sell/what their products do (I miss House of Tools)
Customer Service Center is pathetic; cant get a hold of anyone directly, they take days/weeks to respond and then they provide misleading/inaccurate information. When you point out that they treat customers terribly, they just ignore it and just tell you to buy something.
What has happened at BuzyBee? I have never had cause to complain in the past but a recent online order was dealt with terrible customer service. Total lack of updates, two week delays in response, nobody answers the phone. WTF. Taking my business elsewhere until i hear they have smartened up.
Ordered some machine tooling in November of 2024, they shipped it quickly with a really obscure shipper despite the Canada post strike at the time. The shipper received it in my city and then never delivered it. Busy bee tools told me to contact the shipper which I did multiple times through December, costing me hundreds in long distance phone charges. Throughout this process Busy Bee was totally indifferent and unwilling to help or offer any information. I finally got the shipper to issue a letter reporting the package being lost, which inexplicably was my duty to hand off to Busy Bee (it should not have been). At that point I said that I would still prefer a new package sent to me. They then fell silent for days despite me emailing them to get verification. 20 days later they asked if I want a new package or refund (I believe I’d be owed both at this point) in a very callous and unapologetic fashion. To which I responded that they already had the information they needed.
In short I did not feel valued as a customer, my situation was ignored and neglected for months and at this moment I am currently out a lot of money with no recourse. I perhaps fell prey to the reviews that I saw regarding this business. Beware short reviews and 5 stars, bots are everywhere.
I purchased a drum sander from Busy Bee tools and it was broken. The spring was coming out the side of the drum, screws were falling out. Busy Bee instructed me to remove the drum, while I was attempting to remove the drum, more screws were not fastened and they eventually agreed to take the machine back for an inspection. To send the machine back I'm out $564, not to mention the shipping to obtain the machine and all the spare/different grit sanding belts I purchased. Initially the first "manager(with attitude)" informed me that my (1 year) warranty was expired. Only to inform them this was a Craftex CX machine and it came with a 3 year warranty. So I ship the machine back to them. I'm not going to lie, after at least 20 emails, lost emails, emails getting sent to the wrong department, the person supposed to answer the email is off sick and the list of excuses were endless. I got fed up and called the Better Business Bureau. At one point, the person I spoke with informed me that my warranty was void because I took the machine apart (which Busy Bee TRolls instructed me to take apart to send them the drum sander and not the whole machine). Let's see if the BBB gets me my money back. I will never buy another item from Busy Bee Tools. They are not trustworthy and do not stand behind their machines. Not to mention putting me out with shipping charges at my expense. I'm not rich but they sure think I am. Buyer beware!
Terrible customer service. A broken part on a machine which I purchased there. The store was of no help other than to tell me to contact the parts department, by filling out the form online. I did that and didn't hear back. After a week I left a voice mail because all service reps were busy. Nobody called back. Never again, will I buy anything there.
This Company ignores valued customers that have legitimate complaints and tries to brush them off despite their lack of critical information regarding order delivery. I ordered a router and table from these people and inquired about the delivery 14 months later because they told me it was backordered and it would be a while. I thought enough time had passed and when I contacted them they told me the items were delivered the previous month and that the order was completed. I informed them that I did not receive the item nor did anyone in my household sign for it. They couldn't tell me what company delivered it nor the date and time. The order totalled $402.25 so we're not talking peanuts, to myself anyhow. This all happened in 2015 and I recently contacted head office after the Ottawa store gave me the runaround and Kirti informed me that they don't have a record of the transaction. Well I just printed the record of my account and it doesn't say which delivery company, date, driver. Nor do they even have proof it was ever delivered at all. These people, If they delivered the items, didn't observe the instructions I wrote for the delivery person on the bill. No signature or proof and they said tough beans. POOR CUSTOMER SERVICE OTTAWA AND HEAD OFFICE. They didn't even offer me a discount on future purchases. I'm an over $10k customer so think about how they will treat one order of $3000!!! Don't trust these people with your hard earned money.
